Tliltocatl albopilosum...and I'm happy to discover the new word is pronounced with the T being silent 🤣 Please check out my message to you and have a look at the two videos of my T albopilosum in action 😎🕷️☯️
I am getting this one for my first one...Should I worry about urticating hairs getting to my cat if she's never in the room? Like from my clothes or anything? That's my only concern
If you provide the right substrate/housing they create amazing burrows and then you don’t see them as much... but watching a tarantula carry little bits of dirt and walk back and forth working on it was incredibly cute and entertaining.
I've spent **hours** watching my T. Albo build it's burrow, truly fascinating to watch, they even stop to clean themselves from time to time, it's great!

I love how much variation in personality and behavior these guys exhibit! Reading the comments is always a joy because everyone’s is so different. My girl is about 7 years old and spends pretty much all day outside of her hides (she burrowed a lot when she was younger, but over the years she’s started to spend more time on the surface). So docile-even when hunting! She very casually strolls up to her prey and grabs. Barely even pounces. She’s the perfect display tarantula, and while my family was really freaked out at first, now when they visit they actually ask to see her. It’s so rewarding to see how she’s helped my family become more comfortable with and respectful towards spiders. Also, her tank is next to my loom and other weaving equipment. It’s always fun to see her laying down silk while I’m spinning or weaving some silk of my own. The best muse a fiber artist could ask for!

I know nothing about Tarantulas. I found it in a plastic box on the streets of Berlin with a message from a person that couldn't take care of it with a few tips for feeding it only. Tliltocatl albopilosus 🤘🏽 My first tarantula ♥️ I’ve had her a week today and she’s already eaten for me and spends some time out of her burrow. Thanks for this care and husbandry video Richard!
We just got our first curly hair today at an expo. My daughter and I learned tons from your videos and supplemented with other research on them. We already have several more picked out.
Hello Richard 🙂 My best friend and I just created a YT channel. We are two passioante T keepers. Just last sunday I (Mirjana) purchased a T. Albo and I'm so happy with her!☺️ She's a juvenile and even though I was very well informed about the Albos (my best f. Dan has one too) your video was extremely helpful! Great work! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge in such a professional way 🙏
This is fantastic, it is a Curly that my daughter got for her birthday (the girl in the Sally costume sent to your Instagram) this is such an fantastic video and was great for her to watch, just after feeding hers! She's posted a comment below : It was really nice to see a Curly hair T I LOVE my T thank you for helping my mum learn more about them so she is not scared and I can have my spider❤️❤️❤️❤️
Everything he said is on point! I have a curly hair I raised since he was a sling. He's such a sweetheart, has never kicked hairs at me and has never done a threat pose.
A Enlightenment Channel. And useful for Vital Info. I Love the Vibrant Setup for the Video format But most of all Educational Purpose on T's Amazing! I was able to discover the Breed & Characteristic of my T's
I'm new to tarantulas, but have kept exotic pets for decades now. I lived in with my family and they strictly forbid me getting any spider bigger than 3cm hahah. I moved to my own place and got a curlyhair, since that was the species I studied the most since a lot of people have them and I got a lot of varying opinions and guides. I ended up just contacting a breeder and talking it out with him and decided to finally purchase one. I'm not the typical exotics owner bc I tend to try to go out of limits and do everything in my power to mimic natural habitats with the size, plants and climate for the enclosures. I tend to go a bit too overboard with it and I housed my 4 years old T in a fairly large (a terrarium sized approximately like a 115gallon aquarium) well seasoned bioactive terrarium with a shallow creek water feature and all of the CUC (isopods, springtails, earthworms, millipedes... etc) and some critters native to the parts the T comes from. I don't take a pet just to watch them sit in their enclosure, but instead I love to create a world, I love seeing everything in it from the simplest springtails, new plant growth to a beautiful statement animal. I find excitement and beauty in natural opportunity to see the different animals and their natural behaviors still enclosed inside my own house. to be the creator of such balance and naturalistic beauty is astonishing to me. that's why even though I'll watch every single yt vid, read as many blogs, research papers, question boards and social media posts, I'll still always seek my main input from nature itself, bc that's where these incredible beasts truly belong to. I really appreciate you for sharing important tips and support for people, but I personally yearn for content with similar morals and ethics I posess. if there would ever be a possibility to see you for example try to mimic the best of your abilities a natural habitat, I would for sure stick around and watch your content. good luck with everything you're doing!!
Broooo my mum said the biggest spider I could have was a jumping spider but my friend gave me a Java dwarf scorpion yesterday and his uncle is getting me 2 curly hairs next month! ❤ :D any other animals you recommend? I would love a giant african millipede do you have any experience with them? 😊 edit: how old are you?
@@Mango_the_gecko hi I'm in my twenties, but I've been in the hobby since I was a tiny kid! I do have experience with a rescued pair of giant African millipedes and they are absolutely gorgeous and beautiful pets. I kept mine in a bioactive terrarium designed to mimic their natural habitat! they were great and long lived pets so I'd definitely recommend them. I'd also recommend researching their natural habitat and environmental parameters. then I'd pick the enclosure to fit how you could make that happen the best with what you got and then just watch the beautiful creatures frolicking around and showing the habits they would in the wild. for them I also recommend doing somewhat regular health checks if possible bc they can sometimes have quite serious health issues too. the 2 of mine came in horrible condition due to neglect so I'd really advise any new exotics keeper to remember, even if they are insects, they do require care and vigilance! GOOD LUCK in the hobby!!
@@UsedBlue1973VWBeetle thank you so much! Would u mind adding my number (bottom of my bio) so u can give me more advice? One of my crested gecko eggs hatched recently and I really need help as we didn’t really want babies, the mother was too young to breed therefore died because of the stress on her poor little body (the store put her in with a male) EDIT: where u from? :) EDIT2: is it sir or ma’am? 😂
@@Mango_the_gecko hi, I'm extremely sorry that I most likely wouldn't be much more of help with breeding or hatching care than Google unfortunately. I've only ever bred insects and them not too much either. I also am a bit busy with my life at the moment, but if you have anything urgent I can try to help you here. I get notifications and will check them when I have time. I am a bit weary of people bc of my personal reasons, I apologize once again :')
One of the things I really like about you..you keep the enclosures so clean and orderly. Lots of other stuff to like and admire but that is an important to me. You and Daves Little Beasties are one the top 3 for me and that is one important reason👍☺
My female recently figured out how to pounce on crickets, after 6 months of having her. Other than that, she's a mellow girl that likes to splash in her water dish.
Hi Richard. Greetings from the UK. Thanks so much for your most interesting videos regarding all types of Tarantula. I've finally decided after 30 odd years of liking these T's, to take the plunge and dive into the hobby. I've just bought a Tlitocatl Albopilosus, Curly Hair spiderling and she is just so gorgeous. Your video is so informative on all the husbandry you'll ever need to know plus you are entertaining to watch. Thank you for all the visual advice as a "newbie" to this great hobby
Looked this vid specifically after i rehoused my albo juvi. I think its gunna molt soon so i lightly misted, cleaned the water dish & set her by my desk lamp for a couple of hours, it raised her temperature only 3 degrees, but hey, its a little warmer. She definitely enjoyed it too, walking around and getting a big drink. Thanks for your videos, truly love this channel 🤘
good video! even though the name changed immediately after you posted it. maybe this is the last RUclips vid ever made on the 'brachypelma alboplilosum'!. I might add. that's an excellent sticker selection on the front of your adults enclosure. ♥️
Getting one as a freebie along with a Grammostola Pulchra from Fear Not... I'm so excited to get back into the hobby... watching your vids are a bit part of me wanting 8 legged friends again
Just got into the hobby and I got a curly hair. He/she is so awesome. Kinda shy still but likes to explore and my kids think having a pet spider is awesome. Thanks for the video!
I have my first tarantula, I brought home a curly hair sling from the petshop whilst buying crickets for my jumping spider. I thought I brought home a terrestrial spider, but he spends most of his time on the wall or top of his enclosure!! He will burrow when spooked though. So cute :) can't wait to watch him grow up, if all goes well.
Thanks a lot Lynn...I am still learning to film and edit...i try to learn something new in each video so they will get better with time. I just started making videos about a year ago. I had never used a camera other than my smart phone before that. So it is definitely a learning process.
i just adopted this species as my first T and shes absolutely a shy little girl who likes to dig deep burrows, so im happy to know i set up her enclosure right just on instinct 🥺💗
I just ordered a Tliltocatl albopilosum - 3" - 4" - Confirmed Females - Curly Hair from pinchers & pokies and I ordered a Poecilotheria metallica (Gooty Sapphire Ornamental Tarantula) 1" + × 1 from fear not Tarantula to go with my Avic Pink toe. I am so excited!!
I just bought my spidering Honduran Curly haired from Fear Not Tarantula in VA Beach yesterday and this video has been quite helpful so far! Thank you for all your videos. I’ve been studying and watching them for a while and it gave me the knowledge & courage to get my first T. I’ve gotten a Aphonopelma Seemanni and she is awesome to care for. Thank you for getting me into the hobby!
that is awesome to hear Scott! and welcome to the hobby! that is an awesome t you got there and i hope to have a video on that species in the not to distant future!
I just got given a juvenile one of these an ometepe island form. (Ment to have blue legs as adults) She's called Cupcake and I am instantly in love she webs more than burrows and is always out. More people should have one. Thanks for the vid it's helped very much with her care 😊 can always count on your uploads.
Hey Richard, loved your vid, very helpful info, music dropped nicely with your commentary, I have 9 true curly hairs, need to rehome a few, looking forwards to the next vid, keep up the amazing work😉👍
Thanks! Glad you like it. I spend way too much time picking out music and trying to sync it up with commentary and footage..especially since I think most people dont consciously notice it...but I like it when I watch a video that does that...so I try to make videos that I would enjoy watching. It is cool to hear someone else say they appreciate those little details as well. So thank you :)
Mine used to be sooo skittish, she literally ran around her enclosure even when I turned on the lights in the room, while the rest couldn't care less. Used to kick hairs, too, but never actually threat-postured. It was hard even to feed her, I had to leave food there for a few hours until she was relaxed enough to hunt. Scaredy-cat. Now she got used to me occasionally testing her patience, I guess. She's even fine being handled. Doesn't kick hairs, moves wherever I gently push her, and never shows any sings of threat. Became my calmest T so far. What a way to go.
thank you richard for doing these awesome tarantula videos. my hamorii and albopilosus slings have finally came and thanks to you and many other tarantula youtubers i know how to care for them and i can watch them grow and become beautiful big spiders. so thank you for making these helpful and informative videos for both new and experienced keepers. your channel deserves millions of subs and is so underrated

I'm having trouble figuring out if she's a juvenile or adult so I am worried I don't have her in the proper housing or if I'm feeding her probably. I can't post a picture on here but if you could help me out in anyway possible I would really appreciate it! Also I love your channel! I'm so glad I found it! Thank you for all your knowledge!

How’s it going?
I just got one as my first tarantula and I love her (I never thought I would say that about a tarantula, lol) thanks to you! Your amazing videos have opened my eyes to the hobby and I sincerely thank you for showing me this incredible new world. I can definitely see myself building up a nice little collection. Thank you again and I look forward to your future videos!
Tliltocatl albopilosus 🤘🏽 My first tarantula ♥️ I’ve had her a week today and she’s already eaten for me and spends some time out of her burrow. Thanks for this care and husbandry video Richard!
I just got my first tarantula today and it's a curly hair juvenile! Thanks for the great advice!
I’ve fallen in love with tarantula because of watching your videos and this is the one I want to start with!
Excellent choice!
Great work! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge in such a professional way 🙏
*Tliltocatl* can you believe it?!
I love my albos, they're one of my absolute favorite tarantulas :')
No! What?
This is fantastic, it is a Curly that my daughter got for her birthday (the girl in the Sally costume sent to your Instagram) this is such an fantastic video and was great for her to watch, just after feeding hers! She's posted a comment below :
It was really nice to see a Curly hair T I LOVE my T thank you for helping my mum learn more about them so she is not scared and I can have my spider❤️❤️❤️❤️
awww....that is so sweet...be sure to tell your daughter i said "hello" and congrats on the new spider!
This post has just given me the biggest smile! My regards to both of you!
I love the enclosure you use for the one at work 🖤🕷
Thanks. I'm gonna have to make a video one day on how I make those. I get a lot of compliments.
Everything he said is on point! I have a curly hair I raised since he was a sling. He's such a sweetheart, has never kicked hairs at me and has never done a threat pose.
A Enlightenment Channel.
And useful for Vital Info.
I Love the Vibrant Setup for the Video format
But most of all Educational Purpose on T's
Amazing!
I was able to discover the Breed & Characteristic of my T's
I love my curly hair he is so sweet he never kicks hairs and his personality is laid back and happy
i've got 21 of these guys and they're amazing. love them all.
@@UsedBlue1973VWBeetle don’t apologise! U have personal reasons and I will respect that
One of the things I really like about you..you keep the enclosures so clean and orderly. Lots of other stuff to like and admire but that is an important to me. You and Daves Little Beasties are one the top 3 for me and that is one important reason👍☺
Just got one of these super excited, this video is very helpful thanks
This is exactly the T I’m looking for! I don’t live in US so I really hope I can get it! Thanks for all this information.
I just ordered 1 and I can not wait to get it and after watching this video I feel so much better!
This is the tarantula that got me into keeping!!! Thank you for your well put together videos. Always love watching!!!! Beautiful t!!!
On my wish list for sure!❤
good video! even though the name changed immediately after you posted it. maybe this is the last RUclips vid ever made on the 'brachypelma alboplilosum'!.
I might add. that's an excellent sticker selection on the front of your adults enclosure. ♥️
I figured you'd like those stickers:)
Getting one as a freebie along with a Grammostola Pulchra from Fear Not... I'm so excited to get back into the hobby... watching your vids are a bit part of me wanting 8 legged friends again
Good for you. BB's are great!
Just got into the hobby and I got a curly hair. He/she is so awesome. Kinda shy still but likes to explore and my kids think having a pet spider is awesome. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching my friend!
Would love to see a g.rosea/porteri video also great video love what your doing.
Just stumbled across your channel; super useful videos and they are really well filmed too!
Thanks a lot Lynn...I am still learning to film and edit...i try to learn something new in each video so they will get better with time. I just started making videos about a year ago. I had never used a camera other than my smart phone before that. So it is definitely a learning process.
Love my albos. Very underrated T in my opinion. :)
i just adopted this species as my first T and shes absolutely a shy little girl who likes to dig deep burrows, so im happy to know i set up her enclosure right just on instinct 🥺💗
Love the videos ! Cheers 🍻
This is the species that made me fall in love with all spiders
I just bought my spidering Honduran Curly haired from Fear Not Tarantula in VA Beach yesterday and this video has been quite helpful so far! Thank you guys for all of this useful information and I hope to keep learning, along with adding others to my wife and I's collection. Blessed be, Oh Spider Master!
I’m getting one today because it’s previous owner died very suddenly, I’ve always wanted one but this is my first time ever trying to take care of one, this was one of the only concise and helpful videos I’ve found so thank you very much, I hope she does okay with me
Thank you for all your videos.
Thank you so much for this video. I got my first Tarantula today and from your advice I got this species 😊
Just purchased one yesterday…. I obviously have a lot of work to do. Starting with a proper enclosure. I think I can really get into this👍🏿
I have 1 3inch Honduran curly hair, thanks for this video!
Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.
Sweet video my friend. This was my first ever T and she’s still going strong. Very active and great fun to own
Thank you. This species is very cool for sure. Not my first, but definitely a great beginner species.
Hey there Richard! So I am a first time tarantula owner and recently bought a curly haired.
I'm looking for a new hobby and for some reason keeping tarantulas came to my mind and so far alot of ppl tell me this one is the absolute best to start with thanks this was really helpful 😊
Just got my first terantula today for me an my family an it’s a curly hair. Now I think I’m hooked. Thanks for the great vids

DUDE this is exactly what I needed
Stunning video as always! I keep giving you the same compliments cuz you keep producing outstanding material! I sometimes rewatch vids just for the music lol
thank you my friend!
I loved this video, I appreciate how dense it was in information as well as how it was expressed what the creator does and not declaring that this is the one and only right way to do it. Very informative!
Great video! I love my curly hair I believe he/she is getting ready to molt too!😁
I am new to tarantula keeping and seriously considering getting one and I been researching for about a year now on beginner species and by far this one always pops up but now I really am digging the curl hair !
Pink toes are good too if you wanna get a docile one
