This was absolutely hilarious. I couldn’t stop laughing when you were nudging her back into the cage.
T: "ohhhh... You wanna Dance?? Let's Dance!"
I know!!! Like an unruly child! 😂😂😂🎃🕷🕷🕷🕷
We feed them, we house them but still they hate us. 😂😂😂
I'd hate yall to if you put me in a cage that small. That spider can literally only move a few inches.
@@RevelationOne YES! I think it is rly small ..
@@RevelationOne Agreed! I'm VERY new to the hobby of tarantula keeping but even I can see this enclosure is far too small.
@@RevelationOne They are MEANT for small cages, if you actually looked into it you’d see this is the perfect size for them. They don’t travel, they don’t migrate, they stay at home and ambush prey. There is nothing abusive or mean about this. In fact these tarantulas NEED US. Like all other domesticated species they would not last very long in the wild. It’s not so simple as “let the spider go.”
I swear I see so much ignorance in the spider hobby, maybe look things up first before commenting.
@@verminted5243 Obviously you are new lol, I don’t mean this as an attack at all, but this size is PERFECT for Midas, they aren’t meant for huge enclosures, the bigger the T, the bigger the enclosure but they prefer smaller spaces to burrow in, you should check out Exotic’s Lair, he keeps his HUNDREDS of tarantulas in cages similar to this.
Kat has a 'Can-Do' attitude...
Midas has a _'Nhandu'_ attitude.
Spoder: *Clean up this mold, hoomin*
Hoomin tries to remove water bowl
Spoder: *NO not my damn water bowl, how dare you*

Hey Kat! Since you love rocks as much as I do, I wanted to mention: look in gravel pits for fossils. Gravel is often mostly comprised of limestone, which is very "soft" and a lot of times mined from ancient seabeds and full of coral, snail fossils, crinoids, and shells. I have found a ton of cool fossils just picking through parking lots.
Yes! One of my favourite memories with my dad growing up was going fossil hunting just outside the local gravel pit. Our best find was a small (okay, _tiny_ ) ammonite! Lots of fossilized shells and trace fossils, too. 😄
Well shit where the hell y'all live because I found no dam fossiles lol
Does anyone else get those strange looks when people see you looking? 😂
True, i found a fossilised sea urchin between gravel .
I have awful aracniphobia and your videos are helping me. So thank you for showing me spiders aren't that bad ❤️
Edit, Midas is such a beautiful spider! Despite their aggressiveness she is so fluffy and her fur is beautifully colored!
@Ujuani Abelsen that's a wonderful idea, thank you
It’s not helping me 😿
@@samberg1477 aw, I wish I knew how to help
@@samberg1477 try exotics lair he makes it look like they are so friendly! And he shows there cute side 😁
@@samberg1477 sorry you feel that way, some people can't be helped. Also I watch his older videos, there are a lot of tarantula dying videos only because he has so many, and they can only live for so long. He's not a bad spider handler. He just wants to educate people who care for tarantulas with those videos . But tarantula Kat is also awesome. I love them both.
My Cockatiel loved this video! She sat on my arm the whole time making happy beak sounds. Great video!!
🥺
My rainbow lorikeet likes watching to haha
That was flowerpot fungus Kat. It will happen in almost any substrate. It’s not harmful to tarantulas. It’s just unsightly if anything. I would suggest mixing in sphagnum moss with your substrate and it will hold moisture better. Also you really should add springtails to humid loving setups.
I used to have some extra springtails but the culture dried out and I’m mad at myself lol
I too was going to suggest springtails but you beat me to it Warrior. Love all the vids Kat keep em coming
I did notice those bulbs that made me go “Oh mold grows mushrooms?” Lol. Im glad I found this channel tho a few months ago, the community is full of smart and cool peeps and while I dont have a T yet Im defo gunna have one in the future, and theres no negative affect to knowing more about a topic you love lmfao
tarantula kat I’m in the same boat I need to get a new culture. Funny enough the naturally occurred in my dairy cow iso bin bites not anything else.
@@midgematic8659 mushrooms are simply the fruiting bodies of mold. It serves the same purpose as fruit on a bush: to reproduce. The mushrooms are its method of distributing spores.
2:30 “I’m gonna start by removing her things”
Tarantula: “no you did not”
I'd just like to say you and Exotics Lair and Dark den have helped me get over my arachnophobia with some spiders I'm kool with Ts and jumping spiders, other species not so much I still have arachnophobia but yall have helped it out alot thank you, keep up with the good videos love your channel.
She's like me in the winter, when hubby tries to get me out of bed!! And haven't shaved in a week 🙃 😅 😐

That's fungus Kat lol. 🤪 Coco peat and fiber both grow fungus if left damp for too long, just like most any type of wood or wood fibrous material such as shavings and etc. You can mitigate it buy adding sand and sphagnum to your cocofiber mix when you make it. It allows more aeration while also keeping the substrate on the more most side if need be. Just thought I'd share my experience cuz I've noticed a lot of keepers having this issue, especially those of us (like you and I) who live in more humid climates like Florida and other southern parts of US and South America.
The best thing is that you get itchy, even if none of the hairs landed on you.
How does that work I’m intrigued?
She's so precious 😂 first she doesn't want to leave her enclosure, then she doesn't want to go back in
The lid in first is a great idea!! Thanks for the inspo😁
That was fun watching you fight with that stubborn spider. lol
I love your videos Kat!
My weed moulded once :( I had to throw it away... I'll never forget you random bud of weed RIP 2011-2011
kiff mau weniger

Plot twist: he thought the mold was weed and almost smoked it
your editing always makes me laugh, that willy wonka one killed me
I LOVE this intro ❤️❤️❤️that music sounds all magical and spooky I absolutely love it! I only discovered you a few day’s ago but I love your vids! I’m so excited to get my first spidey soon 🥰🎉you’ve given me so much info and inspiration 😘😘😘💕xxxx
Cool edits I always like your personality throughout your edits !
The love and care you give your spider companions makes my heart happy.
Awesome vid kat!
i really like the way you set up your/their enclosures! i'm learning a lot from watching you :D
Please get your spider a bigger cage lol. This spider is basically in prison.
@@RevelationOne exactly. For all the "stuff" she's putting in the enclosure and also the size of the arachnid, a larger enclosure is definitely in order.
Great rehouse video
Really love the look of a Nhandu tripepii 😍
Great you collab with my Swiss fellow tarantula keeper 👍🏼😊 greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭
Loving the new intro
Congrats to 50k...
You are my inspiration for getting into tarantula keeping 💯 love your videos!!
Good job, Midas! Just like I taught her. :D
I see this was your evil plan lol
Nhandu tripepii have the most derpy looking eyes. It's what makes them so cute.
🕷🕷🕷~DERP~🕷🕷🕷
“...weird spider yoga...” Both you and your tarantula are so cute!
I’ve decided a Nhandu tripepii will be my next T. I love her feisty attitude and she’s so cute and fluffy!
Hi Kat im new came from Exotics Lair came to learn me about the hair kicking defense thing the taranchula's do I also like the decorating work on your enclosures it is most impressive I liked the moss mostly nice capture getting the hair kicking on camera up close like that your the first channel ive seen lucky enough to capture that
the plumes of surrounding hair that would poof into the air every time she kicked hair at the end!!! I cackled!
Glad to hear you got your leaf littler from Josh’s frogs and you like it. I just ordered some too.
That was the first time I’ve seen one kick hair up close, like that. I’m happy they didn’t get on you, but that was awesome 😃
She's A True Queen Lol Very Stunning.
Well done on her new enclosure very penthouse 🌸💗🌸
I really like the little mushrooms you put in
What up Kat you are the best thank you for being so inspirational you always make my day better I Love seeing your amazing pets 💯👍💪
LOLZ!!! That made me crack up so hard, “weird spider yoga” haha haha! Congrats on getting her re housed!
This is one of those T's you need a hazmat suit to rehouse them😂. She is a beauty though frfr. I recently switched to the jungle mix and I love it and my spiders seem to like it better to. Tyfs God bless you
I love the edits lmao
let’s go🥳new vid
Awesome vid!
Can’t wait to see more❤️
New sub here 🤘🏻
Hi Kat! How are you doing? Love your tarantulas.
Got a mature male nhandu tripepii he's absolutely nuts tbh maintenence to his enclosure can be awkward cuz he's very bolty and does throw up threat postures when irritated but it's a beautiful tarantula I never use coco fiber anymore because it would just always grow mould and spores of God knows what I use either a brand called "spiderlife" it's vermiculite and topsoil mixed or a bioactive mix u may not have spiderlife in the states I think it's a European brand but it's like lugardi pretty much
She is soooo beautiful!! I would really love a rose hair!
ok, that spood looks like someone took a hair straigthener to a curly hair.
or like the long haired chihuahua of the spider world.
i can'd quite decide which.
This pink fluffy one is beautiful, but soooo quick and unpredictable! 😱
Hello 👋 love your videos
lol I have the same exoterra box for my eurycantha calcarata (not a spoder). very happy with it. big enough to house big crawlies but small enough to fit in a normal human setting.
Was that Super Adventure Box music?! Woo! Also, terrible as it is, I love watching their kicking motions.
One tarantula owner trained his tarantulas to move away when he said "away." They may not hear but they can feel vibrations.
Thank you for the great video you really know your spiders I really like how they have their own personality.
Your music is great 😊
Exotics Lair's Nhandu tripepii even tried to attack him when he gave it water in one video.
Off topic but I always love your lipstick colors!
yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy kat video
cool to see the hair kicking behavior, looks like she's happy now
It truly is an addictive hobby
New vid, yay!😁
This is crazy... I didn't know you shopped at Josh's frogs!! I applied to work there recently 🤣
You'll take the HAIRS and LIKE IT!
New video!!😍
If you don’t want it to mold you need a false bottom/ drainage layer. Hydrocorn or hydro balls and the bottom and a mesh layer on top of that and then the substrate on top of that so the water can fall through and evaporate at the bottom.
Spider: "and I angrily shake my butt at you!"
What a grumpy little butt 😄
😂love your videos helping me out a lot not going to lie this vid made me jump a few times 😂🤦🏽♂️
This video was recommended to me for some reason lol.. Anyway i was what does it mean by kicking hair ?? Subbed now ill go binge watch your other vids
Spider yoga 😆 Love it
Have you considered adding hydroballs and a layer of screen to facilitate draining of any water? I am not as experienced of a keeper as you so that may not be necessary for her, but watching Mark and Petko, that is what they did for their T's.
love the music :D
My Tripepii has the same attitude problem. Hates me doing anything in its enclosure, I do the same as you did, distract with food then work quickly before the hairs start flying. Lol
Its just great 😅 its was my first trantula they say its a friendly and easy spider to care for. But they kicking as hell 😎 she is all day one dipslay and thats beuteful to see.
I don't know how & why i watched so much of your videos this last days coz normally i hate spiders .. This is like a luxury therapy for me lol ..This said i evolve, slowly but surely thanks
Spiders, and Evee. Cool collection. Haha 😁
If you bake the coco fibre (i do the whole brick before adding water and breaking it up) at 180' F in the oven for about 30 minutes it will sterilize it and kill mould spores/parasites that may be in there. It won't completely prevent mould but it definitely reduces the chances of getting mould in your enclosure, even the damper ones.
I want the superpower to flick hairs at people.
For the mold problem you can use spring tails and other small decomposers
I know this sounds stupid, but seriously a small Wet/Dry Shopvac is epic for getting all of the substrate from tanks. You can put a bag in and when you are done it's ready to go. No hairs, no excess dusty, no problem.
I get nervous just opening my spiders enclosure
It’s a B emilia I hope it’s not a massive hair kicker but he kicked hairs at me a couple days ago no reason, just did after I fed it
Dam the mold strike back is real lol
Lol she has such an attitude. So cute.
Oh my goodness you are brave i was holding my breath on this side of the screen hahaha
came for the spyder, stayed for the killer tunes
I love them a lot:D Getting a juvenile Female tomorrow
That looks to me like the easiest way to not handle a tarantula. I like the idea. The enclosure looks beautiful. Well done. 9:10 lol Looks like she made helping her extra fun.
Have you thought about adding springtales? They eat mold and might help keep that from happening
😂 love how lazy she was looking when she started throw hairs at the end 😂😂
very kicky! haha. such a fluff,, gorgeous!
After learning that tarantulas will LITERALLY KICK HAIR AT YOU that is like fiberglass that makes you itchy, i will never complain about dog hair ever again.
Ahhh! Ugh! Yes. Yes NO! We're moving in the right direction. 🤣
Hah that was fun I'd take hair kicking over bolting any day though as long as your prepared as you were there's not much to worry about great advice i have an aphonapelma chalchodes that kicks almost everytime I disturb or even just try to feed her so I feel your pain lol
beautiful T 😍😍😍
That's a really cool looking enclosure, my only issue is that water dish is huge but I don't really see a real issue with it and it's personal preference lol. I'm not really a fan of podcasts tbh, I prefer watching and listening to people talking :)
And this is precisely why I deal with primarily old world Ts. The hair kicking....
Mine! Mine! That’s mine! And that’s mine! You can have this! wait, mine!
She is a very beautiful tarantula..... I love her coloration.....
What moss do you use here? It’s so pretty
🤣🤣 Loved this! You need a long long stick! 🕷🧹
I actually have 3 N. Trepepii slings long overdue to be delivered.
The amount of hair kicking in this video scares me!
