Malaysia would be the country i would love to retire. Though as a low income Australia worker. The cost of money upfront, is only for the well off. To retire in Malaysia, you must have large amount of cash in a secured Malaysian bank account. A retired income monthly, also if you as a foreigner, need to invest in property ownership of a higher value properties. So not for a lot of average income. Though to be honest, Malaysia is a great choice,if you have the cash 😊
All of the wonderful advantages of staying in a beautiful southeast Asian country do not matter if a foreigner cannot afford to stay in country longterm. Malaysia is VERY expensive. Their “MM2H retirement visa” bank deposit requires a minimum of US$32,000 (RM151,000). Thailand is not much better. They require a deposit of 800,000 Thai baht to be placed into a Thai bank which is US$24,000. The Philippine “SSRV retirement visa” requires a Filipino bank deposit of US$10,000 or $20,000 depending upon your age. Cambodia 1-year, multiple-entry “ER retirement visa” is ONLY US$290. and is renewable yearly. No bank account needed. No deposit needed. You will never be required to leave the country.
Unfortunately, the government is not accepting new applications currently, they are reviewing/auditing MM2H agents - no one knows when the program will be available. Agents are not open until the full audit has been completed - they do not have a government licensed to do business. As you detailed, no income or liquid assets have been advised as yet. MM2H press conference was in December 2023, everyone was expecting the program to be opened in early 2024... then March 2024... then April 2024... now we're in May. No more information forthcoming?

Mate, those cash requirements for getting retirement visas in Malaysia are well beyond what most westerners can afford. Why would the Malaysian Government do this? That's the question that needs to be discussed here!
Lmao you must be joking to retire with 26, I get the point of not working for someone. But just lying around and living without a goal can't be a fulfilling dream. What do you do with that time? Consume?

Hello! I recommend checking out my other video - "Latest MM2H Visa Updates!", there are different visa categories. The Silver is a 5-year renewable visa; there's also Gold (15 years) and Platinum (20 years). The silver level requires a 150,000 USD deposit. Program requirements still change frequently so I also recommend staying up to date online and checking with a registered MM2H agent. :)
MM2H visa is still being restructured so applications cannot be submitted at this time (hoping for the program to be re-opened ASAP)!
For updates on the restructured MM2H program, please visit other videos on my channel! :)
Malaysia Affordable Luxury 🎉
Number 1 country for Japanese retirement for the last 14 years.
Obviously. Malaysia is much safer than Japan.
Because Malaysia don't suffer earthquakes and Tsunamis.

If I were to retire in Malaysia, Penang would be the only place I would choose.
It's awesome. Been there 3 times.
Funny enough, I just watched a video about retirement crisis in Malaysia
thanks, with every country, you have to check it out a few times yourself
Hope re-registration of agents will be completed soon. The issue is what if you are paying for an agent not registered later.
