It really depends on what u are as a person. If you are not so much of a party person, Malaysia is better. And please get rid of this underrated mentality. People who want to remain underrated will never get to achieve their full potential and countries who want to remain underrated will forever be stuck in the middle income category. Always push for more & always go global. Underrated means boring, underrated means complacent. Stop having this "underrated" mentality or else Malaysia will never become a developed country.

In the latest peace index, Malaysia is the 10th most peaceful country in the world. In fact all other countries in top 10 has very small population size (all fewer than 10 million people) except Malaysia the safest country in the world with population of more than 30 million.
malaysia is more affordable becoz grocery, electricity and petrol/gas prices is subsidised by government.. if prices is not subsidised then food, rent everything it will be far more expensive than thailand
I think Malaysia is going to be the best place for us just having English as a language and being able to communicate effectively is definitely a plus, we have considered The Philliphins and Panama also… Thank you for sharing…. I greatly appreciate it…
I really appreciate your comment. 😊 Malaysia definitely has a special place in my heart! If you haven’t visited there already I highly recommend doing so. Wishing you all the best. 👍
Most people considering both cannot afford the visa requirements for Malaysia. MM2H visa costs about $150,000 USD + you Must buy property worth $$130,000 USD. You cannot go to Malaysia if you only have $280,000 USD in retirement savings due to the visa requirements. Just so people understand...
Thanks for pointing this out. :) Other videos on my channel go into more detail on the MM2H too. From I saw, latest updates show property purchase minimums are now 600,000 MYR for Silver, 1 Million MYR for Gold, and 2 million for Platinum MYR.
@@BiesingerFIREJourneygreat catch! I did the exchange rate incorrectly for housing but it still prices you out if you only have $280k saved. Excellent content overall!
Good comparison. 🎉🎉🎉❤️ You can have the cake & eat it too as both countries are located next to each other. You can live in Penang and drive to Thailand in just a few hours or catch a daily train from Hat Yai to Bangkok. Or live in Hat Yai and drive to Malaysia in less than an hour.
No, i just can said for western country who love party vibes party culture wild culture they definitely like Thailand for family or introvert ppl like japan they choosing Malaysia more
Let the young enjoy life in Thailand. When they married and have family, they may come to Malaysia for quality of family life. Invest their money in Singapore for more of currency.
Thailand is not the place to retire anymore. Great to visit or live and work there, but not for retirees. Starting 1 Jan 2024 Thailand now taxes the income of retired Expats (including Pensions), if you live in Thailand 180 days or more in a year, while all the other countries in SEAsia do not. Hopefully Thailand will change their mind, but as it is now, starting on Jan 2025 Expats have been told to pay income taxes on the money they brought to Thailand from 1 Jan 2024 onwards. Thailand also wants to implement worldwide taxation, so even if you dont remit the money to Thailand they want to tax it . No matter how good their Visas are or the country is - for retired Expats Thailand is not the best option (we are leaving).
Thailand is better. Easy to flirt around and beer 🍻 is cheaper there. Also no problem flirting and bitching around with boys or girls. Its much more fun in Thailand. Living in Bangkok is much more fun and satisfying.
Almost the same. Our doctors and nurses ran over to singapore, so there is a vacuum. Thus slightly lower ranking. No doubt thailand has 1400 islands and malaysia almost 900 but the winner for biodiversity is still malaysia.
Although I haven’t done any videos yet on Vietnam (going there in person next year!), it looks like you’re right, the cost of living is the cheapest there compared to Thailand and Malaysia. 👍
Thailand is definitely better for foreigners, let Malaysia stays underrated as it is now.
I second this... its much better for us to stay under rated....

Don't bother malaysia. We have too many expats that want to live here. Pls go to Thailand. Let's leave malaysia underrated.

What a wonderful place to stay in Malaysia or Thailand. The cost of living is definitely a major factor. It's down to your cup of tea.

Cost of living in Malaysia is expected to go up once oil subsidies are removed
Be grateful. Our petrol is much much cheaper than Thailand as well as water and electricity. Please check it out. Even certain daily intake goods.

Marijuana, LGBTQ, prostitution are legal in Thailand but not in Malaysia....
Prostitution is not legal in Thailand. It's tolerated. Cannabis will be illegal starting 2025. LGBTQ can stay in Thailand.
