Noooooooo, don't compare. KL is overated. Don't stay at KL. just come, visit, eat and back. hahahahhahaha. Malaysia is inclusive. We want to make it stay as is it.
If you have family, Malaysia definitely suitable to be a base country for you to travel around Asia. Modest, safe, clean, affordable, nutritious selection of foods, slow pace & multiculturalism environments are important aspects to rise children. Plus, Malaysia provides many choices of affordable parks (recreational & theme parks) for children, teens & adults. Besides, english is widely spoken.
@@al16899 Singapore's cost of living is the highest in the world. Many Singaporeans shop for their groceries in Malaysia. Every weekend we see up to 1/3 million Singaporeans travel to Malaysia for shopping.
What a wonderful video. Thank you for your honest review of KL, the pros and cons of the city. It's still a very affordable city with one of the best value for money. It's a hidden gem.
Malaysia isn’t the place for wild nightlife, clubbing, or heavy drinking. It’s more of a family-friendly destination where you can truly enjoy quality time with your loved ones, making memorable and happy moments together. If you're craving lively entertainment and want to indulge in a bit of fun, places like Thailand or Bali in Indonesia are perfect. They offer a variety of activities for those looking to have a good time and experience vibrant nightlife. However, if you’re focusing on family bonding and want a more laid-back vacation, Malaysia is the spot. It’s full of diverse food options, hidden gems, and relaxing beaches and islands, making it ideal for a peaceful and enjoyable family getaway. That’s my take on it. Thanks for reading!
KL is not boring. It’s perfect for nature lovers or those seeking a balance between city life and nature. Activities such as hiking, waterfall searching, jungle trekking, river rafting, canopy walks, and picnicking can be enjoyed within an hour’s distance from the city center or even within the city itself. For example, you can reach Genting Highlands in about an hour to experience cooler weather and visit the casino / theme park on the hill. Unlike Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur’s city planning is decentralized. There are several satellite cities like Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, and Putrajaya, which can be reached by commuter trains. These areas offer a standard of living comparable to, or even better than, Kuala Lumpur’s. So, if your experience in Kuala Lumpur has been limited to just the central or business district that primarily attracts tourists, you might have only seen a small part of what the city has to offer. After spending a month in Kuala Lumpur, you might want to consider a second visit to explore these other areas and experience a broader range of what the city has to offer.
When people say that Malaysia is "boring" they are usually referring to the night life in comparison to Thailand which can get really crazy at times because Thailand is known for its red-light districts in Pattaya.
Nope, I am a female. It's not about red light district. Nightlife in general is super boring in Malaysia, it's muslim majority country, dun expect a lot of drinking places. Shopping is far better in Bangkok. And FNB is so much more creative in Bangkok, both local and international, KL just doesn't have the exciting vibes.

Skyscrapers in the KLCC area are much taller than Singapore. In Kuala Lumpur there are at least five buildings over 300 meters (a few in the range of 400-700m). But in Singapore, the skyline is more flat with the tallest skyscraper being only 284 meters.

Go to Singapore -If you want to relax, or doing family activities together.. Go to Malaysia As a Malaysian, I dont mind what people think about our country.. we built this country for our people not for desires of foreigners.
LOL. I think a more accurate description of Malaysia is neither exciting nor rich. At least BKK and SG have obvious strengths , Malaysia has nothing. Not exciting not rich.
In my opinion, it is rare for white digital nomads to settle down in Kuala Lumpur. They prefer Thailand n Bali for the western lifestyles, unlike KL which is a moderate Muslim country.
KL, no matter how "liberal" is still a muslim dominated city and most are recent transplants into the urban/suburban way of life. There are some "vibrancy" if one knows where to look. And of course, avoid police checks/raids (haha). For me, KL today is like Singapore in the late 1980s and early 1990s - relatively safe, clean, kinda-modern, lacking in soul or personality. The cultural offering is paltry unless one considers temples, mosques and churches as "fun" (these aren't the Hagia Sofia, Notre Dame or Gold Buddha Temple, etc). The National Museum is small (despite the new satellite buildings), terribly dated, and the exhibits are more for academics and school kids. Thankfully there are English translations! The zoo is too far away for easy access. The Science center is at best a spot for school kids. The many public gardens are poorly planned as most fail to consider human visitors ... who wants to walk under the blazing late morning or afternoon sun in high humidity. Yup, no notable art galleries to speak of (and the private ones are through word of mouth and $$). But there is always affordable good food, and air-conditioned shopping malls to escape the heat/humidity. After a while, these malls all look the same ... you go through a number of them, and they all look the "same". And there is only so much of window shopping one wants to do on a daily basis. For me a 2-3 week stay in KL is more than enough ... a nice place for a simple easy going urban recharge before I head back to a more dynamic cosmopolitan lifestyle.
Malaysia is the centre of South East Asean, centres eazy low cost to go abroad likes go to Thailand Vietnam, Indonesia Philippines & Other's & a lot of flights from KLIA Malaysia
Definitely there are lots of interesting things one can do here in KL and in Malaysia, but if you are looking for wild partying like in Bangkok, then you are at the wrong place. Looking through the video, I am surprised that all you did is just going around KLCC and limited places around there, and very quickly and in a rash manner you summed up that KL is a boring place. I think KL is not suitable for boring people like you, who doesn't know how to find interesting places to go. KL and Selangor and other places around in Malaysia has a lot of interesting places to go, such as amusement park, water parks, bird parks, zoo, muzium, going a little further, you will find reserved forest, Cameron Highlands, and then Genting Highland, Malaysia's one and only legal casino (it also has theme parks for children and a premium shopping outlet) etc. Kuala Lumpur also has interesting night life but of course not in the extent like Bangkok, one can smoke weeds in Bangkok, but it's illegal in Malaysia. Going further from Kuala Lumpur, one can explore Malacca, a historical city and Penang too. About the walkability in KL, you are seriously at the wrong place, most expats don't live in KL, they are in Mont Kiara, Desa Park City, and those places have very good environment for you to walk for the whole day. I would like to sum up that Malaysia is more suitable for families and retiring people, those who likes clean living, not so suitable for young people who likes a crazy lifestyle. So if one do not even bother to explore and quickly sum up this way shows that you are not suitable for Malaysia, just go elsewhere because we are not interested having too many foreigners here.
For me, the cheapest place on earth would be the best place to live in n will beat other places on earth no matter how lively that places are.In this case k.l. wins hands down😊
KL, or Malaysia in general, has no freedom and respect for human rights though. Sharia law is growing stronger each year and things like a lgbt themed rainbow watch or being in the same room as an unmarried couple is a prison sentence, and yes, it is penal code and applies to every one, regardless of religion.
Malaysia is a chilled country and tourists can have a relaxing and enjoyable time with loved ones and family. It's a more organised city compared to many of its neighbours and definitely offers the best bang for your buck. And not forgetting, it's hands down the foodies paradise!😊
People need and want different things at different stages and in different conditions of their lives. So when KL or Malaysia is considered 'boring' it depends on what you're looking for at that particular juncture in your life.
1) In betewwn Singapure & Bangkok 2) food & multy culture 3) not really walkable 4) not easy get grab food & transport 5) house & Accomundition 6) Tax system 7) Nice Nature
In Singapore, its much easier to walk around and take the public transport e.g bus/MRT to get anywhere and the food taste better (because they hire cooks/chefs around the region including Malaysia with higher currency) as compared to KL. The only thing that is nice about KL is that they have bigger hotel spaces and more affordability.
Keep highlighting the negatives. The less people come the better. I like that KL is underrated and hope it remains so otherwise it’ll get ruined like Bangkok or Bali .
Kl is the best compare to Singapore and Bangkok in term of food ,people, more affordable, environment, fauna n flora, shopping mall, transportation, more diverse

Another point of KL vs BK or SG - KL is a lot closer to EU in terms of the city feel, if we talk about the old center, something you don't get in Dubai. Hand down - Dubai vs KL - I'll choose KL
The best way to travel KLCC is BEAM, its so fun to rip around and if youre like me on CANADA time zone the streets are empty alll night and zero traffic. ps best buffet in town is the 69RM at the marriot Pavillion, and the BEST buffet money aside is the 120rm at he W beside Suriya
If u're looking for a fairly clean decent city with good value for money .. fairly good standard of living n reasonably good education.. decent family living.. diverse cultures n good verities of food KL should be your best option... but if u are super rich n money is not a problem to u probably Singapore serves your needs.. but if u want lots of 'fun' weird parties..cheap girls.. Bangkok should probably be ur best choice 😂
Maybe western see SEA only place for sex, cheap and for party only...bro, Malaysia always retain good value in life..we always fighting to be good person with all mix race, culture and religion...
was in KL for 3 days. seen 2 street fights (central market area and KLCC area) , harassed by one mentally ill woman around KL Tower area. Not too much to do after 3 days. But. Price is very good and still worth a visit. And Batu caves also nice to see. I percieved KL as very walkable
Sounds like if you like partying, then KL is not great then. I do find your preferences not a deterrents for some people. Especially those who are heading for S-MM2H. But I do hope Malaysia remain underrated.
As malaysian, family oriented is better in Malaysia. if u single and enjoy night life prob in bangkok or other sea country. Also i really dont want Malaysia to overcrowded with foreigner n expat. just my two cent.
I'm from KL and I concur. KL is boring compared to BKK. More restrictions and I find BKK is actually clean. However, I find KL is more classy and you'd rarely find drunk or people misbehaving on streets. Various food choices due to multiple races in one country. The thing Malaysia and Thailand have in common is people can escape the city and switch to beach life by a few hour drive.
Yes, it is hard to get long term visa, they only wanted high net worth peeps. But tourist always welcome, BKK is better just chill and build your wealth

Dear digital nomads, please go to Singapore or Bangkok. There are already too many foreigners here, including legal & illegal. Too many foreigners residing in a country could negatively impact the local population. Thank you.
What Malaysia do not want is illegal immigrants and overstayers. Digital nomads are important for the Malaysian economy. When COVID shut down the causeway in Johor, many small and medium size business went bankrupt because most of their patrons are foreigners. The same scenario can be said for KL which is known for shopping centers and private hospitals that cater to tourists.
Thailand to name but one. If looking for warmer people try the Philippines, bali also. Only came back to collect a document local people refused to post. Speaks volumes. Happy to leave it for others. This city is full of high rise units. If looking for more impressive architecture there are 100 better places try rome see how it compares😅. BKK is a cultural arts classic and modern blended city. The blends made it very vibrant and lively. But the problem is it's cheap. It's also a luxury city. That explain why the tourist population is huge there. KL is boring is a popular term. No fun attractions such as river cruises or cable car nor ferris wheel and lack of museums. No culture. Malaysia is the centre of South East Asean, centres eazy low cost to go abroad likes go to Thailand Vietnam, Indonesia Philippines & Other's & a lot of flights from KLIA Malaysia
Air Asia - no thanks.
As for me , I prefer *underrated*
People need and want different things at different stages and in different conditions of their lives. So when KL or Malaysia is considered 'boring' it depends on what you're looking for at that particular juncture in your life.
❤❤❤🇲🇾#MALAYSIA Forever❣️
For man who's single looking for action, BKK is definitely your place but POV of man with family or spouse will be different.
Andrew of Nomad Capitalist prefers KL.
If the only Disadvantage you can come up with for a city is that its a bit boring then ur city is one of the best in the world imo
TQ bro for the video. Very nice video...
Malaysia🇲🇾 negara termaju di Asia Tenggara.
1) In betewwn Singapure & Bangkok 2) food & multy culture 3) not really walkable 4) not easy get grab food & transport 5) house & Accomundition 6) Tax system 7) Nice Nature
KL and BKK are my favourite cities and I love Singapore too but I think would always choose KL
Did you need to get any injections for your Asia travel? Thanks!
Oh I'm KL now too thanks for your information from Korean🇰🇷💕💕
We are majoritily Muslim country, ☪️🕋🕌,
If you are westerners please go to Singapore or Thailand or Indonesia, it's okay
@@KhairulAnuar-xc6re to add in English speaking for him, and Chinese, Bahasa and Tamil for the 4 lagest common used languages in the World, because we are only TRULY ASIA! Boring huh?😁
@@hugolau4307 you obviously do not know Asia.
Food? Looking at your name, you can't even eat 90 percent of the food in BKK and SG cos they are not halal, how can you judge the food? I always laugh very hard at Malaysian Muslims who say that.
If you are single, Bangkok. If you are middle class and have a family, Kuala Lumpur. If you are super rich, Singapore.
How to persuade MIT and ajor American scientfic Universities to open branches here...
Another point of KL vs BK or SG - KL is a lot closer to EU in terms of the city feel, if we talk about the old center, something you don't get in Dubai. Hand down - Dubai vs KL - I'll choose KL
You need to go to Genting Highlands for the entertainment. You can get there by bus from KL.
Kuala Lumpur is Engish speaking....
😂He probably poor in English.
LOL. I am a female. BKK is far more fun than KL, It is not about cheap girls. So you think there are no Malaysian hookers. Lots of them in SG!
Singapore is the best place to live for professionals/investors/businessmen - if you're not one - then KL/Bangkok r decent.
Malaysian and live in Shah Alam. Lovely area
As malaysian, family oriented is better in Malaysia. if u single and enjoy night life prob in bangkok or other sea country. Also i really dont want Malaysia to overcrowded with foreigner n expat. just my two cent.
Ya I do not want to bring their filths ro here.
In malaysia u had your money value.. In western they make your money dont had value or garbage..for that wellcome to malaysia..
One month in and you think you already can make a review about living in Kuala Lumpur?! Come on...
Do visit sabah also it is part of Malaysia
he rated KL as boring, he would DIE in Sabah from boredoom
I hv been working in bkk for the last 12 years and I find it boring 😂. KL I heard there's definitely 'nite life' but not as 'open' as in BKK.
4:20, nice moment, i was just watching with my girlfriend and she noticed, sharp eyes
KL is overrated.
The country side of Malaysia is underrated
Yes, it is hard to get long term visa, they only wanted high net worth peeps. But tourist always welcome, BKK is better just chill and build your wealth
It'd turned into high nett worth since Hong Kong citizens flooding for the visa years ago
@@imjuzsayin..5017 Are you sure high networth HKers move to KL. I will be surprised they dun find KL boring. KL is SG in late 1980s. Rich HKers will go to western countries.
Overrated. Too much hype.
The hot weather all year deter the we the local to walk 😂
Family oriented...
SG does not give out digital nomad visas. Malaysia you can be number 1 for once , cos SG is not competing with you.
yeah, BKK has better nightlife, massages and Monthong durian is the best; better stay in BKK
Luv KL and Malaysia as it is … Boring?? Nay … but you feel well Thailand i just 45 minutes away by flight
*people said New York Asia type, the city nefer sleep 💪🤝💙👍💝💖🧡♥️❤️🩹👍🧡🤝💪*
Malaysia is boring!!
For me just unfair to compare poor third world country with first world country in europe..
Ya. hopefully that will keep the first world Europeans away from Malaysia
Of course, weed is not available here.
☕🍿🍿🍿🍿
Overrated. Currently here for the 3rd time. There are better places for sure.
Where?
Ha ha ha... boring and yet 3rd time. That is sucks man :)
yeah...just stay away. we won't mind
Foods nice but not the best Italy or Thailand food is nice plus many more. Want more impressive cultural diversity try Europe etc. If looking for investment growth try dubai. Efficiency go to the Netherlands. Wow factor many other cities blow it out the water.
Are you coming to Serbia to give a try to our country. In Serbia everything is getting better in last few years(at least for foreigners). Salaries are going up, we are building new highways non stop, there is high speed railway that will connect Belgrade with Budapest(150 minutes long trip), more and more people speak english, many things can be done over the internet(and it will be even better in following months, years). And on top of that it is super affordable and safe(and way cleaner than in SE Asia).
No place is cleaner than Singapore😊
- timezone sucks
- crowdy
- traffic is crazy
- no networking
- waiting 30 min for a taxy

- middle of nowhere
- timezone sucks - depends on which timezone you need
- crowdy - agree
- traffic is crazy - yeh
- no networking - true
- waiting 30 min for a taxy - I KNOW RIGHT!
- humid - yeh but this is all of Asia
- middle of nowhere - well it's in the centre of SE Asia
@@tuomaskiv Malaysia is humid as hell, Bangkok is waaaay better
Which city devoid of all that?
- timezone sucks - If you come from europe/US and yeah..it's suck
- crowdy - KL only got 2M population u feel crowded already? are u serious?
- traffic is crazy - only in peak hours, that why they have grab n metro
- no networking - depend on u, cannot blame the city
- waiting 30 min for a taxy - there are always other alternative
- humid - the whole SEA are humid.
- middle of nowhere - Hello, look at the maps, Malaysia is in the middle SEA. Melaka strait is the busiest strait in the world.
Once you finished your adventure around south east Asia...please come to Malaysia to rest..we are pretty laid-back...
Edit: please get a car, it will help you a lot. Public transportation is ok but having a car will definitely get you far.
No culture. Yes multi culture that is actually not mixing each other.
KL still a dry city despite the trees
hi im malaysian.. KL is overreated tho.. i think Kuala Terengganu better..
Fuck in Bangkok, work your arse off in Singapore, savour and nurture life in KL.
My honest opinion, KL is boring! just simple boring city
tell us you're sexpat without telling us you're sexpat
to be fair, every city after a few days is boring.
You obviously have not truly experienced Kuala lumpur. I'm from here and every time I go back I have so much fun. Not sure where you hung out
Malaysia .... Kinda.... Yes, family orientated. 🫰🏻
Judging by the Nasi Lemak that he had, definitely nog authentic at all. 🥲😅
