Ian. I think many job descriptions are just cut and pasting of other peoples job descriptions with the addition of their own things. So by the time you see a job description it contains everything from several careers. 😊

@@GoCloudArchitects Wow, thanks for the reply I didn't expect that. Follow up question, do i need to study for AWS SysOps administrator after i passed the Solutions Architect for a Cloud Engineer position?

Hello. I have coached someone who was hired as a cloud architect who had a stuttering problem. He worked extra hard to compensate and is a great architect. Some engineering roles also don’t involve a lot of speaking.
Thanks for the video! May I check does cloud engineer covers the job scope of sysops? Im getting confused, as there seems to be so much overlap between each role.
Hi Kai, Generally speaking all of these roles are pretty different Cloud architect design Cloud engineer build Sysops maintenance So think of Sysops as an admin role. Like a network admin. Which is very different then an engineer role like a network engineer. Now is some crossover in skill set between sysops and engineering Engineering will be doing building, scripting etc Sysops will also be doing a lot of scripting, maintenance and configuration But a good Sysops professional is excellent at all kinds of automation, maintenance and monitoring. Think of an engineer as someone building the systems with deeper skills in how things work as opposed to maintenance like Sysops
Thank you for explaining clearly the difference..Having said that how long can one be in a cloud Engineer role and does that mean one has to definitely climb the ladder and become Cloud Enterprise architect one day as his/her experience increases or it is not needed and be a super expert as a cloud Engineer itself ?
Hi Krishna - they are different roles. Being an expert flight attendant does not teach someone to fly an airplane. So training dictates the role someone takes. Now I’m manny cases being an engineer first provides a good background. But sometimes its harder to become and architect for people with a lot of engineering experience. As we have to teach the architects not to think like an engineer. The architect is big picture design. The engineer is low level details on a small part of the project.
Again ..a small query..What is the minimum experience expected by the employer to consider a candidate for a cloud solutions architect role ? I have almost 3+ years in AWS Cloud now ..How should I improve myself to scale myself as a cloud solution architect? I have overall 13+ years experience in IT industry..majority of my career as a production support and application Support Analyst...This past 3 yrs i jumped to AWS Cloud...
