I really appreciate the comic relief, but also the fact that explaining it can be fun. And thank you for validating even life-saving solutions for the adoption of Cloud Architecture, ergo the need for the rare expertise of Cloud Architects on many levels.
i read somewhere that software architect arent for junior roles or for people new to cloud computing can you recommend some cloud computing roles for someone new to programming and cloud computing
I am currently in transition from becoming an Cloud Architect. Went from SysAdmin (3 yrs) to being promoted to IT Manager who recently had a huge cloud project. But to be able to just design and give it to someone else to implement is great because that implementation side? Yeah.. I want out ASAP lmao
i am 31 years old and am a roofer. I have been playing around with websites and delving into the databases, code and other things to make website that have monthly billing subscriptions, use API keys, different permissions for different users and security system for different use cases due to outcome, and other bits and bobs. From all my research I want to do cloud architect, but I am concerned I am too old now. As I would have to start off down the ladder (which still requires high level of education). Is there not a educational path that I can go to become a cloud architect, instead of having to go through different roles and working up a ladder which would take many years, or do I have all of my thought's on this entire thing wrong?
Dude you can’t just become a Cloud Architect… that’s the equivalent of an apprentice roofer applying for a Master Roofer Supervisor job & he doesn’t have the experience … you have to build your way up to that …. The equivalent of a regular construction worker applying for a Project Manager job
I am 38. Do not doubt yourself, ever. Get on the AWS website and sign up for webinars go to free learning camps and work on the badges system they offer.
Thank you for this video. I'm a VMWare Administrator that wants to eventually become a Cloud Architect in the next 3 to 4 years. This was very valuable 😉
Programming is not needed for Cloud Architect or a Cloud Solutions architect, but a knowledge of how a particular programming language codebase is complied and packaged and distributed would of help to design solutions such as for a CICD ( Code (Bench) -> Deploy(Prod) )
Technically no, for storing data in cloud and preparing build pipelines you most likely Need to write some code using like SDK/build files, which requires programming. You don't necessarily have to be a Cloud Programmer/Architect though, you can also be a product manager who's familiar with the pricings/specs of cloud tech options.
Can anyone tell me are there any Entry level IT jobs that you can do working from home? Ive always wanted to work in the IT industry but my disability prevents me from traveling.
Hi Mark. There are many IT jobs you can do from home. Any type of software development, cloud administration, or even a DevOps type role can be done from anywhere you have an internet connection. The key is finding an employer that has a distributed and remote work force. Some companies all work in the same office, but if 2020 has taught the world anything, it is that many can work from anywhere. I'd recommend learning the IT skills you find interesting, start a personal project to set it into context, perhaps use a platform like A Cloud Guru to learn from, and then go forth and knock on virtual doors. You can absolutely do it 😊
There are so many that I couldn't even list them all in one comment. Start with CompTIA A+ and branch out from there, usually to Network+ and Security+. Then you can go for other certifications such as Cloud+.
Hi Diana. If you mean architecture that has to do with buildings and windows, then not directly, no. Cloud architecture requires experience in computing infrastructure, data management and security. These skills you can acquire through a combination of a degree, experience working with cloud computing and continuous learning, such as with ACG.
