A new theory my favorite song from this album (all of the tracks are crazy amazing. you are my favorite producer. been listening to you since 02 DEADRINGER.) don't know why you don't have that much recognition? and I'm only 19 years old God Damn it! You belong in the legends category like...! J-Dillia, Nujabes, Madlib, EL-P, DR.DRE, DJ PREMIER, Alchemist, Flying Lotus and DJ SHADOW. come on yall! give this man some recognition!
Yeah, I've decided that trying to put a label on Rjd2 would never ever be able to do him justice or give him the proper respect he deserves for being so diverse and utterly genius... So the genre that I've come up with is simply, "Fucking Badass", hahaha. That way I'm covering all basis. And I will say that you absolutely have to make it your highest priority in life to see him play live. I have seen over 250 live shows, of many different genres, and hands down he is in my top 5. Maybe even top 2... His performance blew my mind. He not only is an insane DJ, but he also switched to bass, guitar, and a few other instruments during his show. Not to mention he did it all seemlessly. Ridiculously talented! Possibly the most worthwhile $25 I've ever spent. He also came out to the floor of the club after the show and graciously shook my hand and listened to me as I freaked out with admiration, like a 14 year old girl who had just met Justin Bieber, lol. And then was kind enough to sign my hoody. Needless to say, he is a super nice guy. So in conclusion, next time you get a chance to see him live, don't hesitate, just go! You won't be disappointed.
Also, I wanted to ask about your profile pic... It's pretty awesome. Is it a picture of you? And did you add the chelsea grin digitally, or did you actually have it painted on your face? Either way it came out really good and I wanted to let you know that I really liked it.
I saw him Orlando back in like 2006 or so. He was rocking out on like 4 turntables and a drumpad. At the end he did a encore with an acoustic guitar. A true musician and an amazing artist. It's great he is still putting out music.
yeah i think so too. listening to his full album feels like a movie, not reminding me of just a certain genre and it's so impressing he's so nice and talented in so many instruments as well!! i think he's so consistent, talented and passionate musician. even after my first comment, i'm still listening to him ! i will surely go to his concert someday. AHhhhhh and speaking of my pic, i did paint it on my face. it's kind of a school project introducing how to put on a halloween makeup or something. lol anyway thanks a lot for your sweet compliment ^______^
100% and nothing but the story-tellin' lyrics to show for it too. Man gotta love intelligent, thought-provoking story-telling like AL brings. Blueprint has always been one of my favorite underground MCs who should be pulled up and allowed the light to shine on. Dude is gifted AF.
The outra is pretty good, the 11th track is alright... not really fond of anything else in here :( ! Oh well, RJD2 makes tons of music, we can't like every little thing.

i agree. i'm also thankful that he's still kinda prolific artist and has wide musical spectrum. ;)
One of the few artists who lives up to the standards of their first album.
so much, so good about this youtube post, full album to enjoy (i'll buy it later), great use of visuals + annotations, generally great aesthetic
the Pink Floyd of hiphop
I agree!
I don't know about all that. RJD2 is definitely more like Pink Floyd then Rae whatever is the fuckin black Beatles tho.
That's a good way to put it
Really like the direction he's going musically. Great album, keep it up!
All my life, I have been waiting for it.
I've waited this album for 1 year!

Blueprint on "Up in the Clouds"?

I think you could make some bad ass music for like a space or tech indie game. Some of your music is very "environmental" sounding.
Nice album 👌
thank you mamen
what sample did he use for peace of what at 05:20? i mean the text
Great work!!
Band of matron saints is realy good
Nice album!
