Great stuff. I like the use of the small bracing as you go along instead of struggling to get it under a long temporary brace flapping in the wind. I guess you just cut all those to 645 mm ish if it’s 600 centres and have them flush with the outside of each truss as you go along?👌👌
I wouldn’t really like to say tbh because it would vary a lot, where you are in the country, what type of work your doing, self employed to employed there’s lots of variables! But on average I’d say most can make a nice living out of the trade 👌👌
i check the brick work before i start is pretty bang on, then measure each tail end off that, then check over it with a level after. i dont think you can trust the tails have been cut perfectly in the factory so i just use that as a guide to check roof isnt running out. cheers for your comment
Hi Mate. Just came across your channel recently and some great content. What camera and settings do you use for the time lapse? Looks mint 👌 Do you ever put the truss clips on the wall plate before installing the trusses?
Thanks pal! Glad you like the videos 👌 I’m just using a GoPro at the min. Think it’s the hero9. No mate we don’t fit the clips first but it’s not a bad idea 👌 can slot the trusses straight into the right place then 💪👌
Yes that’s it mate, I’ve got a more in depth video you should check out. “Site carpentry - lifting and bracing a roof (in freezing conditions) I talk through it all on that video. Cheers for your comment 👌💪
Hi mate. Just after your opinion on something.... When lifting a pair of semis or a 3 block that have spandrel panels for the party wall how do you go about lifting them and bracing them? Do you lift all of the trusses and support them at one end and then spread them from the other end lifting the spandrels as you need them or lift and brace spandrel first and work from that? Cheers
@@dennykavanagh2785 yeah man I lie them down then just lift as we go. Used to put the hole pack against the table lift but health and saftey now say we arnt allowed to rest them against the scaffold! 👎🤣.
Looks a lot safer than when we used to do it before we even had safety nets. We used to remove the handrails and hand ball them up. That was a nightmare job in itself. Glad to see things are better in that respect. We also used to put whole packs lent against the scaffold after standing on the handrails to extend the tubes😂
@@hn9598 yeah it’s defo getting easier and safer which is good all round!! Garage roofs are the only exception, we still take the handrail down on them and lift the trusses by hand but there’s only 6 so isn’t too bad! Haha
@@tubbycarpenter9847 if you get that first truss nice and plumb and secured of the scaff, then copy what marks you have on your wall plate on to the temp bracing (holding the trusses together as we stand them) then in theory everything should be level as you come accross 👌 hope that makes sense and helps 👍

Yes mates that’s the one, trusses are mostly 35 mm so cut the pads at 635 to keep them nice and parallel! Cheers for your comment 👌💪
No requirement for birds mouths on the trusses?
No mate not on pre fab trusses
@@ashleydavenport3794 saves a lot of time
Good stuff man could watch this for hours
Glad you enjoyed the video! 👌💪
how much money in london would a site carpenter make daily/weekly ect?

That looks really safe... Do they lower the worker pay because of less risk?
No mate we get the same money as before! But it’s so much better with the crash deck. So it’s a win win 👌💪
Don't you use a string liner to keep the trusses straight? Or do you just stand them and temporary brace them and run a straight edge across them?

How much to fit a spandrel panel?
Just all in with the roof price for me pal

@@ashleydavenport3794 thanks. What's the interval set for on the time lapse? 10 seconds?
@@woodman8827 I’d have to check pal, think it’s just default settings and I edit the speed on the computer sometimes
It must cost a fortune to add all that scaffolding and safety equipment.
yeah i guess it will be, but once the system is in place its faster for everyone and safer so its a win for us!
100% better and safer. Done a fee truss sets on bungalows without crash decks and all that. Definitely not as smoother or faster.
You know the scaff gets raised as brickies build the house up right? Not like bricks get laid off ladders!
Top job lads
Thankyou!!
How did you level it all up
Did you level the first then go off the pads to level the rest

Hi good videos why r the trusses on the right have different spacings thanks
It’s just what the drawing shows, to fit all the trusses in and to work the loft hatch in to the right space in the hallway 👌

Nice to see zero use of a truss ladder..............what a waste of time and energy those are!
Yeah so much better without ladders 👌👌
What is the floor your walking on while fitting, temporary red structure ?
its a plastic crash deck. most sites have to have them now! a lot easier to work from too
Thanks where do you get them? They would save an awful lot of time. Who installs them and do they need a ticket?
its called G&M safe deck. i think you need a ticket for it yeah. they have specialist lads who fit it.
Brilliant ill check it out here. Im in Ireland
