2-Ingredient Foaming Body Wash Recipe

This foaming body wash is super easy & quick to make. It pumps out thick foam that produces tons of suds. You only need distilled water & a surfactant to make this body wash, however a preservative is recommended to extend the shelf life. And if you add fragrance oil you'll also need to add an emulsifier. RECIPE: Add 200 milliliters distilled water to a beaker. Add water-soluble color if you wish (I added dye) & stir. Add 15 milliliters fragrance oil (depending on usage rates), 5 milliliters preservative (Germall plus), 7.5 milliliters polysorbate 20, & 50 milliliters surfactant (Cocamidopropyl Betaine). Make sure everything is mixed well & thoroughly incorporated. You may have to wait 15 minutes for the bubbles to disappear. Pour into foam-pump container. ***SUBSTITUTIONS: You may use hydrosol instead of water. You may use a different surfactant, but Cocamidopropyl Betaine worked the best! You may try polysorbate 80, but polysorbate 20 is best for aqueous formulas like this one. I tried polysorbate 80 last time & it was too thick; I had to add so much water to make he solution viscous again that it depleted my surfactant. You may use essential oil; use 25-50% of the fragrance amount then replace the rest with water. This recipe has no oil because it kept separating in the container, but you can add some if you like! {You may have to shake the container beforehand, but that's not a big deal!} Substitute 50 milliliters of distilled water with a lightweight carrier oil. I added the maximum amount of fragrance oil. This time I used a more expensive, quality fragrance oil & it made all the difference in the world. The body wash smells amazing- like something from Victoria's secret! I used Bombshell. Other Scents that would go great with this project are floral, clean, fresh, spa. Some include: Japanese Cherry Blossom, Sweet Pea, Plumeria, Cactus, Juniper Breeze. Clean Scents: Fresh Linen, Clean Cotton, Cotton Blossom, Ivory Soap.
