    Terrible results. I've tried it twice and it starts off well, then separates after 2 days and you get nothing but a runny liquid, and when that has finished, a super thick sludge that has trouble coming out through the nozzle. In my opinion. This is a poor diy formula that, because it doesn't contain some type of stabilizer, it ends up both separating and disappointing. Even after I shake the heck out of it. I don't understand how there could be so many positive comments on something that just doesn't work.

      Since water and oil don't mix, you should use a preservative even though honey is a preservative on its own but not when mixed with many other ingredients. There are many natural preservatives that you can use (optiphen for example) because it can mold.

    Great for 1st timers, but I have several issues with it, 1st Glass in the Bathroom not a great idea. 2nd there is water in the recipe, if your not going to use it with 6wks, then you need a preservative or it's going to go moldy. Get yourself some Optiphen+ and add it to this recipe.

    • @lesley4115
      @lesley4115 5 месяцев назад

      This recipe is off somehow. Like you I tried it and when adding the Castile soap to the salt water it immediately became very thick almost to a butter like consistency. I didn't want to waste it so I mixed with a hand mixer with the rest of the ingredients and it came out like a body butter. I thinned it a little with some water and got a light, foamy body wash type consistency but it was so light it was a real pain to try and get it into a bottle. It works and lathers well but I already see that it's starting to separate. I guess I'll have to shake it up every time I use it 😅. I think it's the salt ratio that is off (too much salt). I'll try again when this batch finishes adding a little salt at a time till it's the right consistency and hopefully get it right.🤞

      Castile soap lathers okay, it’s not the best to be honest. But that’s how all gentle soaps are. Only soaps made from detergents like Sodium Laureth Sulfate lather well, but they really dry out the skin and hair.

    Hi & thank you for this video!!! I will definitely make it with the honey.
    I was looking for a DIY for an exfoliating hemp eucalyptus gel when your video popped up so… could this be made with thicker salt for exfoliating? & just add hemp seeds? Or is salt too rough?
    Thank you!!!

    I only used on my hands to try out on my skin and felt some residue and very dry skin, I didn't have aloe vera, but added a tsp olive oil. What do you think caused it?
    FYI - Our water supply is on harder side.

    • @MyMerryMessyGermanLife
      @MyMerryMessyGermanLife  3 года назад

      Hi Sangita! Hmm, Castile Soap can feel drying to some people and it is based in olive oil so it can leave an oily residue, but that part is good for your skin.

    Is it just me, and the type of honey I use, but it seems every time I add honey to one of my beauty product, it gives it an awful smell that can't be masked, kind of like smelly socks. ☹️

    Hey, I just followed your recipe and made this shower gel . I did not have the aloe vera but I did add the honey. I live in India and I had got the lemon essential oil from online. Even after adding 8 ml to this , it smells of caustic soda, not of lemon🍋.can you please suggest something to make it smell more lemony? What about adding natural citric acid or lemon zest?

      Yeah I’ve never used an electric whisk to mix - perhaps it mixes it too much and then actually changes the chemical composition?

      Thank you! To be honest, it’s totally genetics that it’s thick. My dad and grandmother have gorgeous, thick curly hair. I do have a video on how I take care of my curls here on the channel - keeping my curls beautiful is not genetics - it’s knowing a lot about curly hair and using products made for curls.

    Dear Sara,
    Can you please let me know whether I can use melted glycerin soap with double boiler method instead of castile soap?
    2. Can fresh aloe Vera water be used?
    3. What is its shelf life without putting in fridge?

    • @MyMerryMessyGermanLife
      @MyMerryMessyGermanLife  Год назад

      Hi! I’m honestly not sure about the glycerin - you could make a small batch to see? Fresh aloe Vera water I think would be fine. The shelf life is about 1-2 months.

    Hi do you find that your liquid soap and liquid shampoo recipes separate a lot because the oil and water do not mix. I have even tried blending some of the recipes but they still separate. Even using honey and aloe vera do not seem to help emulsify. Any thoughts or tips? Love your channel. Learning so much.
