Not many shows (especially PG-13) have ever had the balls to kill that many main characters in the 5th of 8 episodes. I don't think ANYBODY in the world expected ALL the Jedi (escept Sol) to die like that. CRAZY! It's almost more brutal than Game of Thrones if that's possible.
I watched it with my kids!! They were a bit shocked especially with Yorde 🤭🤣 I think Darth Smiley is gonna be my new fav. I mean look at his 💪🏽 I’ll join the dark side straight away 😏
I think the better thing than “this breaks canon” (though those have been fun discussions and there are arguments to be made) is, this recontextualizes canon. For me, this show contextualizes a lot of things in ways that I personally think are just kind of messy or dumb. We’ll see how the entire story plays out for the rest of the season though. For now, I have so many questions and the actions of Mae and Osha in particular are very flip-floppy and don’t make sense to me so far…
Don't know why some people don't like it so far. I thought that episode was so good! We all live for some lighsaber duels!! Sad to see jecki die. She was badass ❤
While I'm not a huge fan of the show's writing, I feel people's hate are really blinding them from how great some of the fighting scenes are. Whoever choreographed this should be attached to every future fight scene. I enoy your optimism because it comes across as natural. Thanks for covering this series!
For multiple reasons, I feel like Qimir is not the actual Sith Lord but rather an apprentice looking for his apprentice, similar to what Palpatine did with Maul before killing Darth Plagueis. No 1: Qimir doesn't have the yellow glowing eyes of a Sith, even after he started using the Dark Side of the Force to attack the Jedi. Nor is he in any way disfigured. No 2: He refers to Mae (or whomever his apprentice ends up being) as an Acolyte, not an apprentice. In the times of the Sith Empire, an Acolyte was a novice who'd just entered the ways of the Sith and was in waiting for a proper master. Secondly, what does Mae do for Qimir? She assassinates Jedi. This was the same purpose Maul was trained for by Darth Plagueis and Palpatine. In fact, Plagueis openly refers to Maul as a Sith Assassin. This could suggest that Qimir answers to someone above him, maybe the Sith Lord who is his master. No 3: We know that even after the incidents of the show, the council believes that the Sith are extinct. This means one of two things: Either all three of Mae, Osha, and Sol die, or Qimir dies and his hypothetical master lives. We have never seen a Star Wars show/movie to date where ALL of the supporting cast and the main heroes died, save Rogue One. Also, even if all three were killed, the Jedi council would definitely investigate what caused the death of so many of the Order and would be on Qimir's trail. In such a case, it is more plausible for Qimir's death, and for the line of Sith to be continued through his master and Qimir's replacement. Now, this is quite improbable, and considering the writers are a bit too comfortable breaking canon at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if all of this turns out to be BS. But an interesting thought nonetheless.
Being slightly underwhelming doesn't make it bad, but it has been far below par for a series in a sense. It feels more like a cut-up movie. We have too much time between episodes to get weird about things (but I still love the speculation and discussions). Of course, there's always the pre-judgment that makes me tell everyone who "attacks" me for liking it tell them, I love it.
This broke Star Wars cannon. The Sith aren’t supposed to be around. They are at hiding. Even if you kill off all the jedis who know. You still have so many jedis missing. If Yoda was able to sense the death of jedis in the Revenge of Sith how is he not able to sense this??
Hi, confused on the canon breaking part you mentioned. So in canon the Sith are around. They are just hiding. While 8 Jedi dying is a bit, that is also a lot less than the amount that died when Yoda was feeling it. Not saying it should, or should not go unnoticed by the Jedi. But, with three episodes left we don't know that outcome yet.
He's more a ren than a sith, and why we acting like Canon has never been broken??? Prequels were bunch of breaking Canon and adding unnecessary things, like it would be dumb if there wasn't a sith in that long of time span
Way too many openings in the duel to be compared with duel of the fates. Sad to see Yord and Jeckie go but there were a lot of characters in this show. It was bound to happen some died.
For a horrible show this was the best episode except for lore changing again with a Sith revealing himself to be a Sith now obviously I would assume the Jedi master would have to be killed so nobody knows but the action was amazing and was pretty damn cool. it’s no way you could’ve took out that many, a lot of things about the show not but sadly that was the best episode and mainly was was the action sequences I graded it a C+ Sorry for any typos my left eye is going blind a little bit so that sucks so I can’t really see on my iPhone 12 Pro Max that well

Don’t worry. Mae will kill Sol, tell the Jedi Qimir was a crazed Jedi serial killer and be the only one who knows, regaining her master’s trust and both Mae & Osha will become The Acolytes. Of course the twins were switched when Sol saved one. It was Mae.

For what it's worth? Jecki fought impressively well for her age, had she lived longer she would've reached greatness no doubt.

I feel like its in the in between. Too spread out for a movie script, but too short for TV
Yeah, but they can always shorten or lengthen it. There were a couple of lines repeated that I noticed.
Hmm. I kind of feel we could've had more of an emotional impact if we had more than three episodes with Yord and Jecki. 🤷♂️
