Have mine brand new since 2012. Just reached 100k km last month and never did its timing chain. No chain rattling sound at all. Maybe because I service it twice a year that helps maintain the chain life 🤷🏻♂️ but I am looking to change it soon, as I’ve seen many people suffering from it

Currently my F34 320d is at the garage for a new chain in the N47D20C. I bought the car second hand at 240dkm and wasn’t sure if the chain was done. So to take no risk I am replacing it, even though there was no ticking notice or anything. Turned out to be the original chain. But in great condition, just like the rest of the block. Good to know the car has been taken care of by the previous owners, as so will I. So yes, the chain can go for a long time.

We have a kit for the N57 here - www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/bmw-f-series-30d-35d-40d-3-5-performance-air-intake-induction-kit.html It's a very tight space where it sits and doesn't get hot enough to have a heat shield or any kind of casing around the filter

We did think about this but don't think it would make a huge difference do to its location. The filter is on the 'cold side' of the turbo with the turbo and exhaust heat on the other side.
Can you help out? I need to know the 125d pumps that can fit almost bolt on the 123d? I know i need to make it fit but i don't want to spend for the 40d rail and pump etc, also should i remove middle or rear muffler for stronger sound? thank you in advance!
I love darkside! amazing sound
Would want to see dyno figures before and after tbh
was looking at this the other day seriously considering it :)
sounds like its running on 3 cylinders lol
Need a B47 intake ASAP!
Coming soon!

"What's that sound?" you ask? That'd be the timing chain leaving the chat #N47life 🤣
Only if its not been looked after. All these issues are maintenance or lack of it.

Shudda done a before and after on the dyno
Pls make one for e90 n47
Been waiting for a video on this, the kits in my basket 😂
dyno runs compared to the stock filter and box would be good, see if there is any gains, stock and modified
Can’t wait to get this
So cool mods for the babysss 😍
intro was fire
just need an n57 one now

@@DarksideDevelopmentsis one coming for the e9x models as well ?
Nice bit of kit 👍👍
Oooooh need that for my f32 n47d
Also paper filter is better at filtration ,so it safer for engine.
With an open filter paper is not safer, with moisture they can collapse
Are you not doing one yet for the 530D b57 G30 ?
We would need a car here to develop one
Was the car used a 220d or a 225d if theses such a model? My reason for askong is i have a 125d and the turbo noise is nowhere the level this 2 series is
It's a 220d
@@DarksideDevelopments so a single turbo?
Yeah single turbo on these ones
Need that for a B47 Biturbo :)
whats the diameter of the original tube? the one connected with the new one in aluminium
It is hard to measure as it is not just one straight diameter
Hello Darkside
Am thinking of buying this kitt
However will it fitt my bmw f10 2011 n47 motor?
Need to know before ordering
This won't but please email us with your reg. We may have a suitable kit.
I put that filter in my n47 and got check engine blink (luft messer)
Ecu remap with new air intake calibration usually solves a problem with a proper tuner.
Some vehicles may encounter a light on the dash once this kit has been fitted, the MAF may need calibrating to account for the extra airflow.
Still waiting for the Scirocco review :P
Hello,What did you do with the extra piping that goes into the airbox? Like the breather or whatever it is
Original pipe joins on to our tip pipe and the breather gets blanked
@@DarksideDevelopmentswhats the diameter of the original bmw pipe?
Out of curiosity, if it’s raining what’s it like for water intake? As it’s not sealed in is there any rain catches?
As of yet, there have been no issues. It's rare that much if any rain will enter that area
Need something like this for the n57 instead of the open version
We have a kit for the N57 here - www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/products/bmw-f-series-30d-35d-40d-3-5-performance-air-intake-induction-kit.html

@@DarksideDevelopments like said tho! Need to do one that’s closed not open so not sucking in the warm air right next to the engine!
There has been no heat issues where it sits at the moment, even with it being open
@@DarksideDevelopments was looking into getting it but living in a city why I wondered bout the heat! If it’s all good then I’ll get one.
Belle vidéo 👌 😉
Do you guys deliver to Ireland?

You have a video fir the n57d???
Plenty of videos on n57's but if you want one specifically for the induction, got one here - ruclips.net/video/6abhJ4jqwgs/видео.html

Guessing this doesn’t work with your guys turbo kit?
It does with the GTD2056 turbo kit but not the GTB2260 kit
dose it make faster if car remap
Not really, just noise!
Will this fit the N47 in the E82 BM? Checked the site but doesn't seem so.
Just for F-series fitment with the filter at the front
@@DarksideDevelopments though as much but appreciate the response! Saving up for that 2.5k turbo upgrade kit I am 😂
does it work on e87?
No, just for the F-series
Fits B47 on F31?
Not at the moment but we are looking into b47 induction kits
Can you fit one of a bmw f30 2012 my car has that engine
Drop us an email with your reg / vin and we can check part numbers
Thats fine, what's your email?
Does it have a cover for the top to stop hot engine bay air coming into the filter? Thanks :)
Once your moving it’s getting cold air from the front anyway so lids are pointless
@@ShalomBrotherPlus the Intercooler takes care of cooling too.
Surely a top cover / lid is an advantage ?
It might block out slightly more heat but would also restrict the airflow
Any thought's of a N57 heat sheild??
We did think about this but don't think it would make a huge difference do to its location. The filter is on the 'cold side' of the turbo with the turbo and exhaust heat on the other side.
I wonder if it would fit a 2014 X1🤔🤔

We have not tried this so cannot say. Removing the silencers will help with sound but the DPF is the biggest sound restriction
Will this fit in a b47 f21 2016?
No but we have one in development
Does it not suck in hot air?
It is mainly shielded and retains the stock cold air feed
will this fit a m47 in a 2005 e46
