So awesome! Thanks for the tutorial! I have a Dainese suit that I would like to change the Red-Fluoro panels to KTM orange. Any recommendations? Deglaze, sand, white base or just orange? What paint best approximates KTM orange? Thanks in advance!
Yes! Deglaze and light sanding will help it last longer! As for color, we don't have a direct recommendation so we would recommend going to hobby lobby and choosing whichever one you like best!
@@BisonTrackGear absolutely! Would it be the worst thing in the world to paint over a green text with yellow acrylic paint without using the degalzer? It's a patch that was put on over the leathers from factory
The deglazer is not critical if you're touching in a small area. The hardest part is going to be covering the dark color with light. You might apply a little white and let that dry before going on with the yellow. Or, if it's a patch you can just buy a thread ripper and pull that puppy off!
@Bison Track Gear Thanks for the info man saving me so much trial and error just dropped a sub! Will be adding a layer of white then yellow and try that out!
I have a dianese suit that was given to me by a friend. The body/chest area and legs are all perforated black leather. Is it possible to complete paint white all the black leather? Would really appreciate your opinion
Sorry for the delayed response! It's possible for sure but the longevity might not be great. Also, Dainese have quite small perforation which will be hard to paint without clogging.
Thank you for the video! I am wanting to change the colour on my Dainese jacket from fluoro yellow/green to red. Would you suggest white or another before putting on the red? Thanks in advance 👍
I searched this because trying to get a 90% black 10% KTM orange Alpinestars kit is very expensive. I thought why not get the cheap black & white one and dye the A*...I have an airbrush too 😜
Amazing as usual!
Awesome vid en blog, thanks alot!
Thanks for checking it out! We appreciate the feedback too! Let us know if there's a specific topic you'd like us to cover sometime.

@ thank you very much! Such a great tutorial!
Awesome DIY video! Q, since you deglaze, do you glaze over everything when done to keep everything protected?
Thank you Keith, glad you enjoyed it! You do not need to add anything over the color once you're finished.
Very helpful video!! Quick Q, to re-colour silver panels on a leather dainese jacket to black, would it be more suitable to use paint or dye?
Because of the top coat, paint is preferred over dye.
Hey do you have any tips for stretch panels?
Unfortunately stretch panels are tricky! We would just recommend stretching it out and getting paint in all of the crevices.
Bro super helpful thank you!
Glad to hear it! Thanks for the feedback! =)

I usually suggest a little white as a base coat, although you may find that the red covers that light color right up without issue.

You've got this!
I don’t have an airbrush, but would a rattle can work?
Our personal experience with rattle can acrylic hasn't been great. Lots of overspray and uneven coverage.
Awesome video!! Question: can I use the same paints on the nonleather parts of the suit? (eg. Sliders)
You can definitley use it on the protectors, we just wouldn't recommend it on the Kevlar areas of the suit!
Great video! Just what the Dr. ordered. I will be painting over yellow panels. Do you use any kind of finish over the final coat?
Thank you, hopefully it helps you out! Nothing needed over the acrylic paints!
Good day
Any chance you can give me an email to contact you for some advice regarding a repair on my suit ??
Thank you!
Of course! You can email us at info@bisontrack.com. If we can't assist you we will direct you to someone who can!
