    I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to hear others experiencing some of the same things as me like spending the day worrying about “what if I don’t sleep well tonight again” this actually really helps to calm me and realise it’s a lot more common than you think ❤

    Daniel, Daniel, Daniel, this roller coaster that I'm on..... one minute I'm super positive, the next like today I'm soaked in anxiety and tears. When will this end. last two weeks was ok. This week I was so tempted to pop a pill and sleep. Held it in my hands, but decided against it. I understand intellectually, (Im sure i could write a thesis on effortless sleep and acceptance)but emotionally and otherwise, its like the teaching of acceptance just goes through one ear and out the next. One minute I do the healing dance, the next I'm under the bed. I'm just so tired and frustrated of it all..........

      BFT! You know, I can tell you’re in a real zigzagging way... and you know, the last thing you said about being tired of it, that can oddly take you to a really good place. If you feel like, done with it, not interested any more, that can truly take you to a place where you’re unattached. Be kind to yourself, even when you’re crying (no, especially when you’re crying and frustrated!) and be in touch... you’ll get there!!

    Thanks for this great episode! I would like to ask about dealing with noise when sleeping. I wake up very easily, and I usually struggle with noises that I know will happen at a certain time, like a neighbor coming late or someone in the house who goes to bed later or wakes up earlier than me. If it is too loud, it justifies talking to the person making the noise or installing soundproof windows like the person in the episode, but most of the time is anxiety and us trying to be too controlling. I think there is something to say about learning to tolerate normal noises, like people having their own life, without needing to address it with them. Do you have any episodes to recommend or material about that?

    Hey Daniel, thanks again for inviting me to your RUclips channel. And I do apologize for my blabbering on the show (I guess I was a little nervous as this was my first time being on RUclips). Anyway, keep up the good work and I hope we can get to watch your new video on Claire Weekes soon. Take care!!

    I am really struggling with acceptance. I feel horrible during the day: headaches, can't think, forgetful, mind stuck in negativity, etc. I don't see how anyone could accept such a state day after day. If I do get a decent night's sleep (which happens once every couple of weeks now), I feel better but I still worry what the next night will bring. Help!

      I have been suffering with anxiety related insomnia for almost 2 years now.
      It began in university all of a sudden before my exams I was worried that I was not going to sleep as a result a few of my exams I had to sit through without any sleep.
      Now everytime I have a job interview or work I think what if I can't sleep what if I don't sleep as a result for 3days I would go into work with absolutely no sleep at all.
      I even do this when I have nothing for the day ahead I will think what if I don't sleep what if I can't sleep.
      Ive tried CBT, positive thinking, sleeping pills but they work temporarily. I just want to put a end to the vicious cycle what can I do?

    • @thesleepcoachschool8192
      @thesleepcoachschool8192  3 года назад

      Hi JC,
      I’m glad you’re here, you know it’s so rare to find meaningful help… I would say this, anything you try to make sleep happen or to have some control, this will create trouble sleeping… it’s when we abandon trying that sleep happens. This is true even for everything I teach here! If someone goes “I did everything you said but I still don’t sleep”, this shows that there was intent to make sleep happen. This is called a sleep effort. So yes cbti, pills, positive thinking, they can become sleep efforts.
      So I think you can find much here that will really help! One episode specifically is 286 where we talk about anticipatory insomnia.
      Hope this helps and let us know how things go!
