You can say this that and the other thing. But while Edvin Martin was commissioner, I felt safe in Grenada. I could travel, enjoy the island as a citizen and go about my business without fear. I think that's the highest honor of a police commissioner. God bless him and his future endeavors. I hope the next Commissioner strives for the same track record. Thank you Edvin Martin.

Tamcc used to i vite the police to counsel the students, in addition to their nornal duty of controlling crime. The semester was usually productive whenever the police was involved.

Then why bring back retirees to occupied vacant position when other persons could have elevated and make room for others?

I really don't like the fact COP is publicly thanking PM.
The position of COP should be entirely on service, ethics, integrity and honesty.
There is no need to dwell on thanking anyone. The environment ethics, and integrity must always prevail.
The coast guard and fire department must be removed from the police.
There are lots of young men and women who would love to be fireman/woman and and coast guard personnel but not a police.

Social injustice must be addressed in Grenada.
The rights and roles of citizens must introduced and taught from primary school.
Ignorance perpetuate ignorance. Children learns more from informal education than formal education.
As a society, Grenadians can be ignorant of their rights and the right of other.
We cannot assumed the principle of everyone knowing right from wrong will be sufficient to guide us. The right from wrong principle can be more effective if folks know their rights.
Too often poor people children always learn the hard way. By then it is too late.
Most of the wounding and harming crimes can be prevented.
When someone harasses or threaten others, where do the threatened persons go.
It's not uncommon to hear someone threaten others by saying "cut off your so and so head" Death threats are serious and should be threated as such.
I remember making a police report on an individual, the police response was " he ain't do you anything so can't arrest him and tell him don't let come up dey, because we do, we go put some lash in his tail"
Grenadians must have access to legal counsel.
No Grenadians should have to be rich or millionaires to afford legal counsel.
Government should be offering legal at many levels.
The government also need to invest and offer mediation throughout the island, especially in conflict resolution.
The police getting involve after a crime occurs is often too late.
The police invest in proactive policing. Laws must changed to allow the police to do more. For example, if an assault occurs, the police be able to lay charges even if the victim does not press charges.
Education of the simple process of trespassing can go a long way. It's not uncommon to see folks getting mad at property owners for installing fence, in what used to be a shortcut for generations.

No disrespect to the incoming and outgoing Commissioners but this should have been an email.....PM think he's slick hiding from the people behind his PR people. Run off to your tax payer financed "important engagement", sir. You're so afraid of public scrutiny and I have a good idea why.
