Here we go, Ichiban's final fight and final boss. I really adore this fight. The multi-dynamic intros are perfectly implemented, the soundtrack is simply divine (pun intended?) and it's so, so much fun. I might prefer Bryce overall as a final boss compared to Ebina, but I still enjoy Ebina's fight. I think this just feels more climactic. I never thought I'd see the day where Ichiban and friends would group up together to take down the leader of a twisted cult but here we are, and I love it.

As someone once said:
"Ichiban leads, Bryce commands."
Ichiban leads.
Bryce *commands*.
Gota hand it to Bryce, it's incredible that he's been in power for so long and still going so strong in his 90's. It almost doesn't even feel like a loss considering the dude is probably on his last years anyway and his prison time will feel significantly lower than his reign of power time.
Looks rather young for a 90 year old man too. He could pass for his 60s.
Yeah big 'terrible man dies at 100 having accomplished everything he wanted' energy.
Was still good to see Ichi throw him off by saving his life, though, not letting him go out on his own terms.
Bryce treating how expendable his men are is on a different level compared to previous villains, from not caring if his men are in the crossfire to Nele's Embrace. The last time we saw somebody throw themselves at the protagonists with a bomb was with the Matsugane family. Even then, they weren't crazy enough to use their own men for it.
My favorite move is Bryce praying for holy fire and then sneakily tossing a grenade.
I love how rgg games now are syncing the intros right as the music hits
Many say that Bryce was a poorly written character, but I don’t really agree. Yes, he doesn’t have some complicated backstory, he’s just evil guy who wants as much power as possible. But sometimes you just need to have a purely evil guy. Ichiban has too many redemption moments, he needs some villain in his story.
Thematically fitting final boss for Ichiban which also serves as a perfect foil for him, can't convince me otherwise
This is the type of mf to defend Little Baby Iwami
I actually have to agree. Bryce is kind of the ‘if the hero used their abilities for evil’ trope imo, but it works. Ichiban cares for every single one of his friends that he rallies together, while Bryce needlessly throws away his followers he rallies together like nothing.
I thought Eiji was gonna be Ichiban's true final boss like to Ryo Aoki in 7
Notice how Bryce doesn't have a title during his intro. You can tell he's a fake leader.
When you think about, This was essentially Ichiban’s Jingu/Munakata fight
but good since its turn based
But good in general because at least bryce is slightly more interesting than both. Just the whole cult stuff by itself makes me way more memorable annnnnd the brutality at nele island and how bryce kills his followers. Also this fight is way better bc turn based. Also didn't need to go so hard in this fight and make 3 dynamic intros and a song that sounds like fighting god himself
@@thebiggestofmenWouldnt it make sense to have a track like that to fight a cult..?
@@mouthwide0pen yea im saying the track is a good listen and fits
0:59 bros just like 🙂
Man, Yamcha's voice actor in Infinite Wealth is pretty damn cool.
Fun fact, Bryce Fairchild share the same Japanese voice actor who played Sabo in One Piece and Toru Amuro in Detective Conan.
He’s also the voice for Yamcha
Also Amuro Ray for fucks sake
First, it was a dragon. Now for his next final boss, Ichiban fights GOD. A false one at that
A giant squid
"We're belly ploud my children of balekana"
Bryce
Props to RGG for making a villain that was an even bigger irredeemable monster than Iwami, Kuroiwa, and Kyoya Sadamoto, Bryce dethroned all of them in my opinion.
He's really good, just a rotten soul.
Love how we usually get track that sounds like you are fighting god but time its the boss is someone who think is a god
The more haunting part is Bryce actively disclaims himself as a "god". He knows he's just a human who's manipulated these people, fully admitting it in front of them.
This is the theme of the people who _believe_ he is a god.
@@aerodynamo4874 i suppose it thats makes the name impersonation very fitting

Kazuya, is that you? 😂
This fight is basically Leader vs Boss moment
*super epic boss fight begins* “Is that your mom, or a trash can?”
Yakuza 4 final boss but good
the selfish deed is actually freedom this time!!!?!?!
@@axothesleepdeprivedeven if falls down?!
@@Willie_Pete_Was_Here we can justify it????
@@Tasher228teven if it so sad?
Even if we’re walking ahead?
I love that final bosses in recent RGG games have been cops and politicians
Kuwana and Shishido are neither of those.
U mean the ichiban games
@@nobu6833 didn't knew kuroiwa was a Ichiban final boss. Also soma may not be a final boss still fits the description
@@mr.marvinA vigilante and a vengeful spirit. At the very least the vigilante is still being political ig lol
i cheesed the fuck out of bryces fight with adachi
dudes arrest skill saved me so much time LMFAO
I have a theory.
Look at Bacchus from Yakuza 0. Now look at Bryce.
One and the same
Another neat detail.
If Tendo from the previous game was the Dragonlord from Dragon Quest 1, Bryce is Hargon from Dragon Quest 2.
Hargon was an evil sorcerer and leader of a religious cult, he was the second to last boss, and he also attempts to commit suicide after being defeated.
You know, the Like a Dragon series is known for having sympathetic antagonist (with some exception) so this is refreshing that the most heroic of their protagonists have to face a completely irredeemable piece of shit as a final boss.
I preferred Bryce over Eiji as the final boss, I thought it was pretty perfect actually. The ending for IW was amazing imo with Ichiban forgiving Eiji and recognizing him as his friend, past all he did, but still making him atone for everything in a fair way
The only part of the story of IW I hate is ichiban forgiving eiji. I just can't get it
@@heartunderblade1334It makes sense for his character, always looking at the best of someone and forgiving regardless. Like even outside of the brother trope, Masato in the last game was much worse, deporting like hundreds and just making deaths occur like he was Jingu.
What actually sucked is how little they build back up to their confrontation by the end. Eiji just shows up with no on-screen time to build up to what happened to him.
Bryce fights using submachine gun and explosives but given them tools some fancy names. Could he be like Ichiban, also role-playing in his head ?
I think that's actually always just whoever the leader is naming the moves they see the enemy pull. Like here, you can apply the same logic to any Palekana warrior when they use "Purging Flash", a move that is more or less a big sword slash lol
I mean , the guy legit thinks he is a god
So its not out of possibilities that he actually believes what he is naming his attacks.
Ah Ichi's Jingu
Hellfire's 🔥 Beckoning is one of the coolest boss moves I've ever witnessed 💯
We need more moves like that RGG, the more cinematic the better!
This child is more an adult than compared to iwami no bucha 👶👶
Hated him so much that if felt just right for ichi to put him in his place.
Dude, l love bryce so much❤
Bacchus was a final boss of ichiban?
Well, That's a Final Boss for Ichiban
I was hoping Ichiban would get an epic shirtless hand to hand fight with a bad ass shirtless final boss though. Anyway i'm satisfied with Kiryu's final boss.
Ichiban vs Joe Biden
LOL 😂
Bryce's story arc was kinda weird.
Why kill lani? Till she becomes the leader of palekana he's already dead as he is like idk 100 years old.
He is a great villain though i just don't get his reason for killing a 10 year old child.
It's because Lani has proof that he isn't the true sage of palekana and Bryce has too much of an ego to believe he's gonna die of oldage anytime soon
@@unclekaz3153 yeah i meant it as in what does he care if his secret comes to light he will die soon anyway but the ego thing is a possible or maybe canon explanation that i missed.
I was so hoping we'd get a final boss where Ichi uses his Yokohama Hero outfit, but then he goes and rips his shirt off :(
I didn't like this boss fight. Even Munakata was more engaging than this.
