From steaming & stomping to tender & touching .. as Shaye says, 'this music still moves people' .. Tuba Skinny has a real relationship with their following; they are good people .......
Robert I have heard there are from 400 to 500 Tuba Skinny videos on RUclips. Many repeats there. If you play enough of them you'll even encounter some bluegrass and Mexican stuff. I doubt anyone knows how many different tunes the band has mastered. They're astonishing.
'Oh Red' is a curious 11½-bar tune [Bar 10 has only two beats]! It is on Tuba Skinny's 2018 CD called 'Nigel's Dream'. The song was recorded in 1936 by The Harlem Hamfats & later by Blind Boy Fuller as 'New Oh Red'. The only other 11½-bar tune I can think of is 'Viola Lee Blues': Tuba Skinny have that in their repertoire too!
Erica is a big draw for the group. but she also left the group in 2015. The real draw is the musical director, Shay Cohn. The band is pretty democratic. they figure out as a group what they want to play and how they want to play it. Shay pulls them all together but they are all equal in this partnership. for a long time it was Erica and Shay that were equal draws, but far from the only ones.
@@SetemkiaFawn "Left the band" doesn't fit with what I've heard. Erika moved from New Orleans to Chattanooga, but without rancor. She gets back to perform when she can and has taken tours with the band in the US and elsewhere.

I have five of their CDs and no repeats. Still hear new stuff on the YT videos
Tuba Skinny and Greg are really "cookin" on "Oh! Red" One More Song" yells the audience! Erika and Greg, makes, "Wee Midnight Hours," even better!
Love this harmony Greg n Erika make with talented band members. Thanks.
Two of my favorite songs. Greg and Erika doing Wee Midnight Hours is tremendous

Oh, that clarinet is hot!
Tuba Skinny 👍
I’m curious as to why Shaye doesn’t introduce the songs. She IS the bandleader after all.
