"It's So Good"
Pops Coffee informs me: "'It's so good' was recorded for the Okeh Company in December 1930 by Charlie McCoy - apparently in the key of E (though this may be the distorting effect of recording processes at the time). Tuba Skinny sensibly play it in E flat, much easier for a traditional jazz band. The tune is an uncomplicated three-chorder: an opening eight bars (Verse) that are virtually identical to the first eight bars of 'West Indies Blues', followed by the 16-bar 'Chorus' in which there is space for a 'break' on the Eb chord in bars 7 and 8. You can hear Shaye hover on a lovely bluesy flattened high G flat (1 min 04 secs) when it's her turn to take the two-bar break."
Thanks Pops!
"Security" (Allen "Tarheel Slim" Bunn)

It's so good to see TubaS appear before so many separate and diverse groups. Better ambassadors of this jazz can hardly be found.

Such a great jazz and blues singer; love everything he does.
Thanks for filming this, Eric Alan Isaacson. Thanks! I will update.
Thank's for your explanation. Always in the spot. Obrigado pelo seu esclarecimento.
@@MrAlvaroFurtado Obrigado.
There might not be a better tune than "It's So Good" for showcasing Tuba Skinny's musical inventiveness, especially the way instruments take breaks or join in for a thrillingly emphatic finale. Moment by moment, the band's arrangements keep changing things up to keep the music fresh and lively. Nothing overstays its welcome! At the very start Craig reveals his copy of the arrangement, a simple list of key sequences.
On the 2nd number, an excellent solo by Shaye !
...but hardly any camera time!
Great guys behind Shaye and Ericka. They always look like they just got off the back of a garbage truck and hurried to the show.
That's their look, alright! Just a bunch of sharecroppers who rolled into town to blow their hearts out. Ain't it grand!
magic
Grandioos
It’s so good!
Erica!! Wow.
👍🇧🇷
Oh! Bama mimes.
I didn't know Andy Dick played the banjo and guitar with Tuba Skinny. One would think he could of got Erika Lewis a role on News Radio.
Too bad about the sound system not working.
Is the lovely Erica pregnant ? Or gained a little weight ? That's o.k she's still as beautiful and talented as ever !!!!!
So fill wie abgeholtzt, gemeindt wie HOLTZ, holz,.......
Is Erika pregnant again?
et j'y suis toujours pour rien ! sob !
For Christ's sake, how much talent is needed to play the wash board?
To do it well requires considerable talent.
@@shurshot2764 Tell me if I can buy a musically modified washboard to prove any untalented person can play it.
Most folks can tap out a 2/4 or 4/4 rhythm I suppose, but look out for breaks & stops. After that it takes a good bit more ... listening especially, getting a left hand to be anything but a slave to the right (or vice versa), building up arm / hand speed, varied strums & touch on different surfaces, and learning each tune and the bands arrangement. Robin Rapuzzi is a miracle. He a fine composer too, by the way
@@EAIsaacson damn right it does.
@@sireugenecourtney5797 your title depicts how arrogant you are. We are just complimenting a very fine musician.
