  • "Security" is one of those Tuba Skinny songs that have little to do with jazz. Tuba Skinny is a versatile band, inspired by many musical genres. They give old, sometimes forgotten compositions a second life. "Security" - by Allen Rathel Bunn as Tarheel Slim, is a rockabilly style song originally performed in 1960 by Tarheel Slim and his wife Little Ann.
Tuba Skinny at the Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston on October 15, 2021.

I understand quite well what you mean...symbols refer to the real meaning ...more understanding and easy to recognize over the big block of text in multimedia languages... For instance...the ideogramss and crypto of pristins civilations were understood for those people without text writings knowledge... 🙏🏻

OK, I gotta proposal: I've seen Erika play rhythm guitar and sing solo. Would Erika like to get up off that bass drum and sing with a guitar strapped around her shoulder? I'll move from Iowa's hog country - oh man, the CAFO's here are really strong, and the, umm, fragrance of these confined animals - especially today in town with a strong south wind . . . well, I'd be happy to come to N'awlins, and play bass drum with ya'll. I'll stand right next to Robin. Together we'll sound like a whole drum kit. Shoot, back in the day, I played bass drum with my college's marching band, first semester during football games. I'll promise not to play the tempo we marched onto the field with - around 240 bpm, and I'll also promise not to piss ya'll off like I did with our director, who stopped the music during outdoor rehearsal and gave me holy hell for playing LOUD Rock and Roll rhythms on the bass. But, come to think about it, I'd have a real hard time in the sweltering N'awlins heat and humidity. Any CAFO's in Loozianna? Today's hog smells in town just about made me heave. In Iowa ya know what they say? ''That's the smell of money.'' There's actually more hogs than people in Iowa, too. And about half of these dead hogs end up in China . . . No ****. They can't get enough GMO pork bellies. OK, back to the music. I LOVE YOU GUYS MUSIC! This audio is damn good, too.

Thanks a lot for such a comprehensive comment. The written word isn't very popular these days so it's really nice to hear from you. Erika could probably do as you suggest but then the image of the team would change. Maybe one day it will happen. Maybe they will also play their versions of jazz coming from other parts of the world. For example, manouche jazz characteristic of France. After all, Louisiana has historical ties to that country. In some way they will evolve because that is the nature of things. Man constantly expects something new; even after the old. Music is perhaps the oldest of the arts and in constant bloom. Styles arise, mix, intermingle; and nothing is constant because that is the nature of man.

Your comments are valuable, misfozje. Again, I dig your music. Your own talents are, to me, extra-ordinary. I've seen you play piano. Your horn playing is ALWAYS right-on. I'm happy that Erica and your rhythms player are sharing vocals, too. Each sounds authentic to my ears. And, as you point out, music does, indeed, evolve. You guys' evolution is remarkable. Keep at it. Thank you for responding to my own too-many words. Blessings. @@misfozje3434
