Tuba Skinny_When They Ring Those Golden Bells_Houston Oct. 2021.
When They Ring Those Golden Bells is a beautiful gospel and bluegrass song written in 1887 by Daniel de Marbelle. The copyright was acquired by the John Church Company, and the song was first recorded in 1915 by the Imperial Quartet. The song has been covered by many famous artists. I counted fifty official versions, including one from behind the "Iron Curtain," where the (then Czechoslovakian) country band, the Rangers, recorded their version in 1971, and the song was titled "Zlaté zvony." This well-known theme, as performed by Tuba Skinny, is wonderfully arranged, which adds an amazing freshness to it.

The song's authorship is attributed to Thomas Dorsey, and this version, performed by Tuba Skinny, comes from their first public performance during the COVID 19 pandemic. Although the band played with a depleted lineup (Erika Lewis and Todd Burdick were missing), the performance was extremely successful. NOLA, December 30, 2020.

"How do they do it that way" is a sensationally sung by Erika Lewis song by Viktoria Spivey. In my opinion, it surpasses the orginal in performance and arrangement. As always, Tuba Skinny rose to the occasion. Shaye Cohn and her team are unrivaled. The song is from a performance at the Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston (October 2021).

This version of Tuba Skinny's "San" was recorded during a concert happening in Ridgefield Park, August 10, 2021. This is the only time I know of when the band played this theme with vocals.
