So, (written before you explained this) I tried building for a bit, and quickly understood why you keep both celestial tools (pickaxe and hamaxe) as well as a pwnhammer. The pwnhammer’s lower power gives you more control when shaping blocks without breaking the walls behind them. Plus it’s able to destroy altars if need be.
Calamity and/or Thorium. I think you would like them, as the content they offer is huge, but also because they add some interesting furniture recipes, food that can be placed, potions that can be placed.. These two really are great mods.
Man, I'm brazilian and I started to see Your videos in a few days and I already love your channel man, You have perfect habilities in building, congratulations.
In Fargo's soul mod there's an accessory called the builders soul which gives you a building range as large as your screen and other stuff to. Definitely recommended
For a super helpful mod, I recommend Luiafk. It's a mod that is completely QOL, it has "infinite items" like water, honey and lava buckets. A grand design that doesn't consume wires or actuators. Craftable demon alters. Super speed up and increase building range/speed. You get the point, it's really helpful!
The more videos I watch from you, the more I get to know about all the possabilities in Terraria so I get even more hyped to play it! Thank you so much
I highly recommend Thorium as a content mod. One of the things I love about it is how well it integrates with the vanilla game. Imo it feels like a legit expansion instead of a 3rd party mod
Luiafk is also good ,it adds a bunch of stuff to make parts of the game less tedeous (mostly farming),I'm referring to it's combo rod ,it has a paint mode ,wall mode for quickly placing it,a tile mode for sloping and actuation ,a wire mode and a liquid mode ,it doesn't consume any items
This is extremely helpful! LuiAFK is a very helpful mod that i use for building. It also adds a super drill mount. Thank you for this video it really helps!
chad's furniture mod and/or furniture, food and fun are two of the best decorative mods out there. also vipix toolbox has a lot of nice building tools, like a paint selector and a hammer that only shapes blocks.
Chromakey Walls adds a few fun things, invisible blocks and platforms, red/blue/green walls (which is useful for videos, i suppose, not much else) but most importantly for me, a pickaxe with +50 reach and a hammer with +50 reach and insane speed for tearing down walls. And an accessory with +50 reach as well. They can all be crafted without any pre-req items so you can just make the tools when you need them and immediately dump them. Also been using the invisible platforms to make your gibbets. Others have mentioned luiafk, but I didn't see anyone mention that it also adds an invisible housing token, which is also nice for the gibbets.
1.4 made me step it up and I’m really liking the new houses I’m making. For some reason it gives me way more motivation to make it look good if size matters now :)
Recently I’ve been getting into the Calamity mod and I’d really enjoy seeing what you build with the new blocks in the mod and how you progress through it.
I know this isn’t commenters day but an idea for a build is creature themed houses. Not all of them of coarse just a select few that you may find interesting. Your vids are great and have a incredible day!
I recommended this last time you asked about content mods, but Calamity may be a good mod to try out. Maybe not for its infamous brutal difficulty, but for the sheer amount of extra materials that it adds that could potentially be used in builds.
BuilderPlus adds a bunch of new blocks that are pretty cool. I'd like to see what you could do with them. Stuff like pipes and cobwebs that are in the background. And a faster pickaxe for building. Also Nice Blocks. Does exactly what it sounds like, it adds a lot of new blocks, and the textures are great. Edit: Adding comment about Nice Blocks.
The static hook is also really good to have. It’s bought from the Steampunker for 50 gold and allows you to easily control where you are mid air. The Martian saucer mount also helps
I would highly recommend checking out the Chad's Furniture mod. It adds a lot of new furniture, as well as giving you placeable versions of stalagmites and previously unobtainable walls. It's hard for me to do any building anymore without some of the features that mod adds.
So you have the obvious one: Fargo's. You have content creations with bosses and biomes and the new blocks/walls/furniture sets that come along with them, like Calamity and Thorium. There are mods that do building stuff. I'd avoid Furniture Food and Fun, as I think it's a bit too colorful. I'd suggest Chad's Furniture mod as I like it's alternate glass and furniture additions.
If you're looking into content mods, I would recommend trying thorium and calamity. I know that they are primarily meant for playthroughs, but they add some really cool blocks and other items.
You should definitely try chads furniture mod! You will be amazed by all the different kinds of furniture that are absent from vanilla. Plus it gives you all the natural walls that are not obtainable otherwise
I would rocommend using fargo's mutant mod for stuff like crimson a whole area or the whole world, fuul map expose, ect and chad's furniture for custom furniture, plants waals, pillars, and placeable stuff like placeable life crystals, and stuff you wont accidentally break like spider web and some other cool stuff, and a few other mod for their block, such as calamity and thorium.they have some really beautiful blocks.
If you are looking for raw content mods, thorium and calamity are your best choices. I would recommend calamity, and I know that it has new furniture sets, but thorium might be more what you're looking for.
Fargo's souls mod adds an item called 'world's shaper soul' which gives you infinite reach, disable mobs spawning, includes the effects of gizmo's pack, tool box, and toolbelt's, it's an extremely useful item for builders
Maybe try building with Calamity? I don’t know about very many building/decorating materials from that mod, but some of the ores look like their bricks could look pretty good.
I love your building videos. Would love to see a British early 1900’s late 1800’s themed archaeological dig for ancient Egypt. Cant wait to get my laptop so I can play and build in Terraria on the computer instead of mobile.
Haven't finished the video yet, but luiafk has an accessory called the home improvement. It's soooooooo useful. It's got the whole gizmo pack as well as super fast break speed and infinite reach Edit: also, the improved drill mount and infinite grand design
Not a content mod thingy, but I'd recommend using the "World Shaper Soul" and the "Flight Mastery Soul" from "Fargo's Soul Mod", and maybe the "Home Improvement" from "Luiafk", they make building a lot easier.
If you're gonna start a playthrough then I'd definetely recommend Calamity because it has thousands of new stuff to explore. Thorium is also a good option but Calamity has tons of Post-ML bosses, while Thorium has only one.
I'm looking into checking out content mods, but I really don't want to start a modded playthrough. I have no idea when 1.4 is going to release, but I don't want it to come out while I'm in the middle of a modded playthrough, because then the mods will have to update, effectively ending the series. I think I'll wait til after 1.4 to do something like that ;)
Yeeeee, this video was really helpful! Now I just need to install the mods :3 (and I didn't about the defender's forge, I'm yet to discover the things about the dungeon defenders update :/)
Late to the party and i think people sugested them already:ChadsFurniture(adds nice beautiful furniture, variants of existing ones, "replicas" of unobtainable items in game),food, fun, furniture is also a good mod,but it adds a new biome, weapons, accesories, but adds unique blocks and such and are pretty nice. Also, calamity and thorium have some nice blocks you can use,but the new, post moon lord items may make you reconsider what tools you use. Also, there was a clip from happy days where he lists mods for builders, and there were like 3-4 of them really worth trying.
i recommend lui afk for building, one reason, the home improvement, it boots placement range to whatever you can see, placement speed to super fast and all kinds of other building buffs. its pretty much the all in one building accessory.
Building for beginner’s without mods. 1:start by getting wood in your new world on your new character. 2: build a wall 6 blocks high and 8 blocks sideways and 2 or 3 blocks down enough for you to place a door down. 3: turn your wood into walls and a chair and a table. 4:place the stuff down being chair and table (make sure the table is atleast 2 things away from the back of the wood (basically give the chair room to be one space away from the wood building) and place down the walls. This was your guide to building for beginners with no mods
for content mods, i think i would reccomend Calamity first as it's the most popular terraria content mod out there, with a pretty high amount of new things to work with. however my personal favorite is Thorium. it has less overall but what it does have is pretty high quality and fits right in line with regular terraria content.
I would recommend very large content mods such as Calamity or Thorium as they add a very large amount of blocks without requiring a whole bunch of mods to be downloaded (not to mention that a lot of people who work with mods tend to have them downloaded already, so sharing modded builds don't change much.)
Thank you! I've watched a few of your other vids (which were great) but this is the starting point I needed. Great content. I'm looking forward to more building tips, tricks, and ideas.
Hey bro. I know a mod that you definitely should include whenever you start you mod adventure. It's called Builder Plus. It adds things such as: craftable unobtainable walls that spawn naturally in vanilla, handy building accessories, statues for all the mobs in Terraria and much more. When I first saw this mod I was like, man that's made for folks that are into building gotta recommend it to Khaios
My list of mods that add furniture and blocks (Not the only mods, but they are good for furniture): -Calamity -Thorium -Mod of Redemption -Shadows of abaddon
I recommend hero's mod, it is like cheat sheet, but it has tools like freezing time, removing enemy spawning, and right clicking the map to teleport to the location you clicked on the map
when im building i use the fargos souls mod because it adds the world shapers soul. its an accesroy that gives you almost infinite building range, faster mining and placing speed , disables mobs spawning , the auto paint and things like that. its very useful
if you want the ultimate building tool in any mod ive ever used so far, i HIGHLY recommend the World Shaper Soul from Fargo's Soul mod. the stats are as follows - increases tile and wall placement speed by 50% - nearly infinite block placement and tool reach - double mining speed - combined effects of the... > toolbelt > toolbox > architect gizmo pack > presserator > mechanical ruler > putrid scent > royal gel > cell phone (which i believe has a hotkey as well when the soul is equipped) - emits light around your character - and grants the ability to enable Builder mode (which can be toggled in mod configuration in-game): > any item that creates a tile/wall will not be consumed (anything, blocks, furniture, fishing crates, etc) > no enemies can spawn not only that, but some of these stats get buffed when the soul is combined into the Soul of Dimensions, and i believe again when combined into the Soul of Eternity, although you'll have a lot of annoying effects such as minions, projectiles, pets, etc, however you can toggle damn near everything on and off. the only thing i found you cant toggle off is the elemental quiver effect from calamity when combined into the Sniper's Soul, which isnt even relevant to building. other than that, LuiAfk's mod has some very useful tools to supplement
As far as mods go with content and new blocks, I'd say *calamity* is a good bet due to the sheer size of the thing. However, if you want something with a bit less to work with, *sacredtools* I believe has some nice tiles. Spirit, Thorium, and Enigma may also work, but I havent played them in a while.
yes i like Guides For mods id recommend wingslot , platform helper you can hold down a selected button to place a platform of The block you hold i think its 5 blocks left or to the right Then Veinminer you can Blacklist / whitelist stuff hold down the veinmine key and then Mine 1 of the whitelisted blocks to destroy all of the connected once
Wow TKS for this. There was a couple items I didn't know about. I always wondered how you actuated blocks so fast. Always thought it was a mod but to know it's a rod now my own builds will be alot faster. Sweet.
this was so much hepful for me, im just starting like to build in terraria and using mods to be able to have the material and didnt knew anything... so thanks! i played a lot before but only to beat the game.
The two best content mods out there right now are Calamity and Thorium, by far. Calamity is a more hardcore experience compared to vanilla terraria, and takes it steps further with increased difficulty modes like Revengence and Death mode. Thorium is more tame in comparison and acts almost like an expansion of the base game. It has new classes, and even a healer class that's focused towards co-op play.
Oh wow I haven't been this early since my own birth! This is a video I've been secretly waiting for, so thanks! I shall treat this as a holy token of guiding.
You're alive : ) For creative content, I'd recommend Better Paint (you also need Hamstar Helpers to use it). You can mix paint in that one to get all kinds of colors on the RGB spectrum.
If I were to choose which mod to start with first, I would go for the Calamity mod. Lots of terrarians would know about it and the block palette is not overwhelming. But if you would like to go for a mod that has a bit of a challenge, I would go for the Furniture, Food, and Fun mod.

also vipix toolbox has a lot of nice building tools, like a paint selector and a hammer that only shapes blocks.
Those sound really handy ^.^ Thanks!
Brilliant! Please make more, it really helped me build a hotel in my friends world!
Yep it did by the way I’m his friend
You had me at "invisible blocks"
Not gonna lie I was really bad at building but watching you’re channel has really helped me.
NO MATTER HOW MUCH I KNOW THIS MAN GIVES ME MORE TIPS
BuilderPlus adds a bunch of new blocks that are pretty cool. I'd like to see what you could do with them. Stuff like pipes and cobwebs that are in the background. And a faster pickaxe for building.
Also Nice Blocks. Does exactly what it sounds like, it adds a lot of new blocks, and the textures are great.
Edit: Adding comment about Nice Blocks.
Sweet, thank you ^.^ I'll check them out
The static hook is also really good to have. It’s bought from the Steampunker for 50 gold and allows you to easily control where you are mid air. The Martian saucer mount also helps
I love your builds and I was wondering if you could do a Japanese style building tips video or a more royal style
Thank you for the kind words! You might find this build tip video helpful ^.^ ruclips.net/video/rRbean23Xvg/видео.html
I really like when you post tips and tricks for building. It inspires me and shows me how i can build better
Thank you sooo much! I didnt realize I could copy/paste selections on CheatSheet like that. That’s gonna save me big time when I build
Randomly found this channel, didn't expect god damn Bob Ross of Terraria, 10/10 friend.
If you're looking into content mods, I would recommend trying thorium and calamity. I know that they are primarily meant for playthroughs, but they add some really cool blocks and other items.
I've needed this for so long
Basic stuff like this is great because when it comes to building, I have absolutely no Idea what I'm doing.
You should definitely try chads furniture mod! You will be amazed by all the different kinds of furniture that are absent from vanilla. Plus it gives you all the natural walls that are not obtainable otherwise
Just found this channel yesterday, and I’ve not seen such a neat channel in ages!
I did some testing, paint works with all of the stuff and uelibloom works great for adding vines and foliage
Fargo's souls mod adds an item called 'world's shaper soul' which gives you infinite reach, disable mobs spawning, includes the effects of gizmo's pack, tool box, and toolbelt's, it's an extremely useful item for builders
Love the frequent uploads. Keep it up Khaios!
Storm hawk? You play terraria?
Maybe try building with Calamity? I don’t know about very many building/decorating materials from that mod, but some of the ores look like their bricks could look pretty good.
I love your building videos. Would love to see a British early 1900’s late 1800’s themed archaeological dig for ancient Egypt.
Cant wait to get my laptop so I can play and build in Terraria on the computer instead of mobile.
Haven't finished the video yet, but luiafk has an accessory called the home improvement. It's soooooooo useful. It's got the whole gizmo pack as well as super fast break speed and infinite reach
Edit: also, the improved drill mount and infinite grand design
Not a content mod thingy, but I'd recommend using the "World Shaper Soul" and the "Flight Mastery Soul" from "Fargo's Soul Mod", and maybe the "Home Improvement" from "Luiafk", they make building a lot easier.
Blue Slime: Why Hello There
Khaios: Hey Be Careful I have I Hp-
*splat*
Wow I’m early! Hi Khaios! I just recently subscribed and I love your channel. Keep the great work up!!!!!
Thank you, and welcome to the channel!
Khaios intro are golden
Try Chad's Furniture mod, it adds more furniture, statues, and ambient placeables, like tiny rocks, shrines/altars, bones, and skulls.
You should try calamity and thorium, they both have enormous amounts of building blocks. Great video btw
for content mods, i think i would reccomend Calamity first as it's the most popular terraria content mod out there, with a pretty high amount of new things to work with. however my personal favorite is Thorium. it has less overall but what it does have is pretty high quality and fits right in line with regular terraria content.
I would recommend very large content mods such as Calamity or Thorium as they add a very large amount of blocks without requiring a whole bunch of mods to be downloaded (not to mention that a lot of people who work with mods tend to have them downloaded already, so sharing modded builds don't change much.)
In 1.4 make sure to use a void bag too for more inventory space
The fact I've been playing terraria for years and the best thing I've built is the basic wood house you build for a guide
Thank you! I've watched a few of your other vids (which were great) but this is the starting point I needed. Great content. I'm looking forward to more building tips, tricks, and ideas.
Thank you so much for this! I just started playing with my 5 year old and this is helping so much to answer all his questions :D
Hooray! A new Khaios video! Love your content so much, you taught me how to build amazing things!
I love watching your vids because it helps me get better at building. Thanks!
Thank you for explaining what mods and tools. Very helpful!
The Furniture Food and Fun mod has a whooole bunch of gorgeous furniture sets that would be really cool to see you build with ^^
Thanks! I'll definitely give it a look ^.^
Thanks! I'll check it out ^.^
My list of mods that add furniture and blocks (Not the only mods, but they are good for furniture):
-Calamity
-Thorium
-Mod of Redemption
-Shadows of abaddon
I recommend hero's mod, it is like cheat sheet, but it has tools like freezing time, removing enemy spawning, and right clicking the map to teleport to the location you clicked on the map
when im building i use the fargos souls mod because it adds the world shapers soul. its an accesroy that gives you almost infinite building range, faster mining and placing speed , disables mobs spawning , the auto paint and things like that. its very useful
if you want the ultimate building tool in any mod ive ever used so far, i HIGHLY recommend the World Shaper Soul from Fargo's Soul mod. the stats are as follows
- increases tile and wall placement speed by 50%
- nearly infinite block placement and tool reach
- double mining speed
- combined effects of the...
> toolbelt
> toolbox
> architect gizmo pack
> presserator
> mechanical ruler
> putrid scent
> royal gel
> cell phone (which i believe has a hotkey as well when the soul is equipped)
- emits light around your character
- and grants the ability to enable Builder mode (which can be toggled in mod configuration in-game):
> any item that creates a tile/wall will not be consumed (anything, blocks, furniture, fishing crates, etc)
> no enemies can spawn
not only that, but some of these stats get buffed when the soul is combined into the Soul of Dimensions, and i believe again when combined into the Soul of Eternity, although you'll have a lot of annoying effects such as minions, projectiles, pets, etc, however you can toggle damn near everything on and off. the only thing i found you cant toggle off is the elemental quiver effect from calamity when combined into the Sniper's Soul, which isnt even relevant to building. other than that, LuiAfk's mod has some very useful tools to supplement
As far as mods go with content and new blocks, I'd say *calamity* is a good bet due to the sheer size of the thing. However, if you want something with a bit less to work with, *sacredtools* I believe has some nice tiles. Spirit, Thorium, and Enigma may also work, but I havent played them in a while.
yes i like Guides
For mods id recommend wingslot , platform helper you can hold down a selected button to place a platform of The block you hold i think its 5 blocks left or to the right
Then Veinminer you can Blacklist / whitelist stuff hold down the veinmine key and then Mine 1 of the whitelisted blocks to destroy all of the connected once
Definitely look into Chad's Furniture Mod. It adds a ton of furniture perfect for decorating builds.
That is absolutely on the top of my list :D
Wow TKS for this. There was a couple items I didn't know about. I always wondered how you actuated blocks so fast. Always thought it was a mod but to know it's a rod now my own builds will be alot faster. Sweet.
You should try Calamity, that mod is huge & it adds tons of new blocks and furniture
this was so much hepful for me, im just starting like to build in terraria and using mods to be able to have the material and didnt knew anything... so thanks! i played a lot before but only to beat the game.
Content mods?
1. Calamity mod + Calamity music mod
2. Thorium
3. Tremor
These are the most popular ones, but there are loads of other amazing mods :D
Thank you! I appreciate these tutorials that explain the tools needed. I've not been playing this game for very long, so i like this information.
#EarlySquad!
Technically you only arrived on time for your own birth
"Oh wow I haven't been this early since my own birth!"
That one hit me in a place I didn't know existed
Thank you! Ive been wondering what you use. Thanks!
This video was really great. I’m just starting to get into building and I look up to your build style a lot. Thanks!
I can recommend Hero's Mod:
• Freeze time and change time
• Toggle rain and storms
• Item browser
• DISABLE MOB SPAWNS!
• Much more..
