Rotators and rollback are a thing of beauty, these 2 inventions made recovering vehicles so much easier. Not to mention the millions of jobs a rotator opened up for their owners. Essentially providing a mobile crane in a compact package to an industry that needed to evolve as the trucks and trailers evolved. And that is why these 2 trucks (but mostly rotators) are so cool to me. (Also not to mention rotators just look so mean)
Well , if people would remember the saying " no zoomy zoom on the slicky slick or you will go boomy boom in the ditchy ditch and you will be waiting for the towey tow in the cold snowy snow " , it wouldn't be that bad .
I salute you and Mikey and all the other tow truck drivers I use to be one and I understand the pain that you all go through be safe and God bless you all
Scott, I was pleased to see how carefully you eased down that icy hill. I was born and brought up in New England. It’s always the down side of the hill that gets you when it’s slippery. So many people think because they have 4wheel drive and antilock brakes that they don’t have to be careful. Wrong! There are places you just don’t even want to try going down if it hasn’t been salted or sanded.
The stress alone having to be on your p's and q's the whole time dealing with the ice. I've mention it before snow and ice I avoid at all cost. I make sure I have sufficient supplies before the weather upsets and stay clear of driving until Mr. Sun melts the snow. My prayers go out to you and your crew at MidWest. All of Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas has had a brutal February. If I think about past winters I usually have our coldest temps in February and end up with frozen pipes in my kitchen for about 18-20 hours.
That was a great video. I respect you for the care you show for every one's property and people. You are a man of God for sure. Take care in your line of work as it is dangerous at times. Blessings on you and all Mid West family.
Poor Ron getting really roughed up by all this. Could definitely tell you were getting tired when you drove off, then pushed the brake button a 2nd time while already rolling pretty well. Just going through the motions. My prayers for your safety out there.
I think that's just one of those habits like wiggling the gearshift again before letting off the clutch when idling with a manual transmission. Tiny effort to avoid an at least embarrassing and potentially serious mistake.
Great video Ron!👍👍 Enjoying it with my morning tea and sausage, egg & cheese bisket. When I was driving OTR, I keep a full set of chains in the truck from Sept. thru March. More or less just to comply with the chain laws, if I need to chain up, it's to hazardous to drive. But sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do! I thought the message notification on your phone was the plush Mater on the dash but then I always wondered why I could hear him outside the trucks. LOL Stay safe and healthy to all at Midwest Trucks. Spoke at ya later, Ka moan.😎
Appreciate the video Ron and thanks for the ride along with you to see the countryside. Something we don't see here in the city. Looks peaceful... Nice to see what your world looks like...! Glad to see you have your chains and rock salt too btw...
Couldnt have started the day no better. Love to see a day in the life of a tow operator just to see everything that goes on. That would be a cool video.
Ron, God bless you for the work that you do in helping to keep the roads safe. I also am glad to know that you're a Believer. This world needs more people out in society and on RUclips who are not afraid to profess their faith in God. I, too, am a Believer and appreciate when I see others who are honest about their faith. God is Good. I pray for the safety of you and your crew. I love your programming. Read Numbers 6:24-26. This is my prayer for all of you as well. God bless.
Coming from a fellow Texan who is a city employee who worked about through the craziness and is still working extra hours to help get it back to semi normal in my city.
I'm from Texas, and Texas just doesn't have the ability to prepare for that type of weather. That was just a sad situation. And not much can be done ice.
Sitting here in sunny Australia thanks for showing us how “the other half lives”. When you placed your camera onto the tray back to crawl under the front of the Beemer I’m embarrassed to say I tilted my head to try to find hook up points!!
Also, I love following you!!! I work for a small towing and recovery company in PA and am thirsty to learn as much as I can. I want to be an expert in the field! I plan to take all the wreck master courses and increase my knowledge and experience😁 stay safe out there brother!!!
I'm with you on the automatic's shortcomings in snow and ice - always pushing the drive wheels, it is. Neutral is where you have to be for delicacy in braking!
Not as straightforward as it looks. Why? Because of the treacherous conditions! Another well executed recovery safely completed. You're right, the pictures I saw here in the UK of the Texas pile-up didn't look good. The only 'good' thing about it was the amount of work available to the recovery teams, but the cost of lives will always leave a bad taste and feelings of great sadness, methinks. May God rest the souls of the deceased and bless the workers and families involved. God bless you, Ron.
Thanks for sharing another frosty recovery with us today Ron.. I'm surprised the BMW was still sporting those low profile fat shoes it was wearing considering the weather and conditions...
Thank you for your prayers, Fort Worth Texas that morning I was heading to work and believe it or not that was only a fog rolls over on the roadway it was very thin around 6 that morning
Oh the irony at 27:43 of a vehicle stuck between two icy hills and fitted with tyres/tires saying 'All Season' :D Great work Ron - hope you all stay safe out there
Got kinda a funny story for you, I was called to assist the county on an accident, the road had a hill on it that had another road deadended into it, on the main road at this intersection there was a hill, driving a normal speed no problem, but if going a higher speed the car could go airborne, a lot of kids would purposely go that higher speed to go airborne, one night a sixteen year old kid jumped the hill, his car ended up flipping and landed on its roof spinning down the road, the measurement we took was from the landing of the car to its resting point was just over 150 feet, it had a sunroof it which shattered on impact giving us the starting point, the kid flipped over inside the car with his butt hanging out of the sunroof, when the medics got there we got the kid out and once in the ambulance being evaluated he had some severe road rash on his butt, it even ate through his jeans, his dad showed up on scene and asked his son what happened and he made up a story why he had a wreck, when dad talked to us he got really mad at his son, dad told him when his "butt" (dad said another word for this) he was going to beat his "butt" again, the ambulance transported him to the ER so the could clean the wounds, he was not driving impaired just under the influence of stupidity, he did get a ticket for failure to control and dad grounded him by taking away his driver's license for six months making him ride the bus to school everyday, when his friends found out about his injury the taunted him mercilessly, dad did say after that the kid did learn his lesson, the deputy said when he went to court for the ticket the judge even laughed at his injury
Thanks for the Prayers Ron for all the families involved in the massive wreck here in Fort Worth. That was truly horrendous. Whats worse was it happened on a Toll Road and they spent the preceding days treating all the area roads. That area in particular as I traveled it the afternoon before on my way home. That area has a large hill going south on I35 and is notorious for freezing over as there is a long bridge.
Good Morning My Good Big Bro Ron Pratt Sir & God Bless You & All Of You're Whole Family & I'll Be Praying For The People & You All You're Whole Family Also
I feel like it's kind of fitting that I'm watching this right now as it's 48 degrees and raining here in NorCal at the moment. When you pulled up to the junction I noticed the fresh tracks in the road going to 214, I would've followed those first guessing that that's where it'd be. That "quarter mile down on 214" reminds me of when your GPS freaks out and you get "in a quarter mile turn right. In a quarter mile turn right. In a quarter mile turn right." and next thing you know you are 5 miles down past where you needed to be. Man that guy did a number on that driver's side rear fender..
Backing down the county road sure made it easy to get the working end of the rollback into position. Nice bread and butter recovery. Way better than having to work that pileup in Texas.
I always appreciate the driving sections. Thank you for including them.
Thank you for choosing us to keep you company. Please continue to be safe out there.
@Ron Pratt, you give a whole new meaning to "back to work"!
I enjoyed the whole trip rather than time lapse, thank you, just my opinion!!!
I'm so thankful I live in Alabama and we only have to deal with weather like you have about every ten yrs. Y'all stay safe out there.
Rotators and rollback are a thing of beauty, these 2 inventions made recovering vehicles so much easier. Not to mention the millions of jobs a rotator opened up for their owners. Been there many times....LOL. That's why I learned to back in to narrow roads like this. Thanks for watching and God bless.
A extra Ron Pratt video heck yes
Just like Lays, cant have just one.
Man going through icy hills backwards, gotta give you props for that. Most people would mess that up somehow real quick.
Ron, thank you for spoiling us with an extra video this week!! Please stay safe and take care.
Backing up to the stranded car was a wise choice that resulted in an easier recovery. As always, a great job by Ron.
Yea a Tuesday treat No better way than a Ron Pratt video to start a day off.
True that.
Just watching this makes me want to go to the doctor. Lol
Well , if people would remember the saying " no zoomy zoom on the slicky slick or you will go boomy boom in the ditchy ditch and you will be waiting for the towey tow in the cold snowy snow " , it wouldn't be that bad .
Groughgoo!!!
LMAO
I love this! Going to copy, just so I can remember. 😃😃😃
Morning from beautiful Kansas usa
Ron Thanks for the Treat...God Bless You and stay safe. It surely looks cold ..I Love it when you talk to yourself...LOL.

Living is the back country we always carried two bags of Kitty Litter all winter. It does make a difference if you can't move on Ice.
I carry sandbags in my truck for weight. Carry a shovel and when I need traction, bust open a bag....
Better then a middle of the night, between 2 blind hills, in the middle of an ice storm, on iced over roads recovery
I saw that video too. I felt like I was his mamma and stripe his legs for going it alone that night. Haha
Yup.
That video was at the other end of the road he filmed this video on
I actually took a deep breath when he finally got out of there!!
That was a great video. I respect you for the care you show for every one's property and people. You are a man of God for sure. Take care in your line of work as it is dangerous at times. Blessings on you and all Mid West family.
Hauling a load like a car in winter on icy roads has to be a real challenge to anyone's driving skills. You amaze me, Ron.

Thx for leaving driving portions in. Its like a mini-drive thru of Missouri.
Nice landscape looks nearly the same as here in Gotland Sweden. Thanks to you Ron to share this with us!
I love the driving part, it makes me feel like I’m there with you. 😁
Love the driving part. Keep up the great work !
This ice and snow is treacherous for driving. Ron you do a great job out there. 👍👍👍❤️
Appreciate the video Ron and thanks for the ride along with you to see the countryside. Something we don't see here in the city. Looks peaceful... Nice to see what your world looks like...! Glad to see you have your chains and rock salt too btw...

Ur doing an awesome job with backing up that long stretch of road. Urdoing a whole lot better than I would do
That narrow road ,plus ice ,wow it was scary for me ,I would not have liked to drive on that ,good job!♥️
I cannot back up 2 feet in a straight line. You are amazing.
Good job anyway. Enjoyed
Thanks again for leaving the driving in. Slowly getting to know my way around Scott City remotely, lol.
Nice little treat to watch while having my lunch here in the UK. Thanks for posting and stay safe.

You should not be allowed to be out in the middle of nowhere by yourself. Thank you for sharing. God Bless.
What a Ron Pratt video and it’s not Friday. Good job and be safe.
Check his channel, there was one last Tuesday.
I check the channel often. Sometimes, just watch an old video just for ..........
It caught me off guard myself. As a previous comment said... he had 2 kast week.
Another great job done by you Ron even in slick roads.
I’m from Texas. One of my good friends worked that wreck and he said the same thing.
Texas was not prepared for this storm and it really showed.
Coming from a fellow Texan who is a city employee who worked about through the craziness and is still working extra hours to help get it back to semi normal in my city.
I'm from Texas, and Texas just doesn't have the ability to prepare for that type of weather. That was just a sad situation. And not much can be done ice.
A nice treat on a Tuesday, thanks Mr.Pratt!
Love your channel, Ron. God bless!
Ron,great recovery,as always.Get some rest,brother,you sound tired!
Sitting here in sunny Australia thanks for showing us how “the other half lives”. When you placed your camera onto the tray back to crawl under the front of the Beemer I’m embarrassed to say I tilted my head to try to find hook up points!!
I do that too . 😃 A lot of times I grunt to help him climb up on the equipment.
Also, I love following you!!! I work for a small towing and recovery company in PA and am thirsty to learn as much as I can. I want to be an expert in the field! I plan to take all the wreck master courses and increase my knowledge and experience😁 stay safe out there brother!!!
I love your videos and love how you are very professional hope to meet you and the crew some day
Great video Ron. Thanks for sharing. Kevin
Хорошую работу делаете,помогаете людям на дороге!👍
Admire the backup, even reverse parking is a trial to me, much admiration Ron! God bless you brother and your family 😇🙏🇬🇧

Good job well done in very tricky conditions....
You have to love your job as this is plain hard work.
Thanks for sharing another frosty recovery with us today Ron.. I'm surprised the BMW was still sporting those low profile fat shoes it was wearing considering the weather and conditions...
14:30 LoL "It'll be the only BMW sittin in the middle of County Road 214" I almost choked on my coffee when I heard that 😂
Ron, you just like to show how well you can back things up.
Thank you for your prayers, Fort Worth Texas that morning I was heading to work and believe it or not that was only a fog rolls over on the roadway it was very thin around 6 that morning
Oh the irony at 27:43 of a vehicle stuck between two icy hills and fitted with tyres/tires saying 'All Season' :D

Thank you for the Tuesday video. Hope you and your team stay safe and look after yourselves.
I almost had a nervous breakdown watching that video.I prayed for you 🙏

Haven't seen ice on roads like that since I left Rome, NY. Average winter temp was 40 Below there. Be careful and stay safe all of you.
A moderate exaggeration!
I find it a very beautiful landscape.
Ron, you the the man in the know..God Best you and and your family,
As usual, great job and you’re entitled to an easy one from time to time.
Thanks for the Prayers Ron for all the families involved in the massive wreck here in Fort Worth. That was truly horrendous. Love your vids keep it up
Good Morning My Good Big Bro Ron Pratt Sir & God Bless You & All Of You're Whole Family & I'll Be Praying For The People & You All You're Whole Family Also
That was some great backing to get to that car!
That road looks awful Ron. I hate ice on roads it is so tricky to drive on. Glad you are such a great driver. I like watching you go to the scenes.
Good one
I think the hard work was worth it. Yep no matter what you do you can make everyone happy. I just enjoyed seeing you working on it!! 😁🤟👍
I thought that message was someone being rude to you from the CB and I was bit concern for your safety. :) Thank you for the explanation.
Thankfully I tow in the south now I worked Dat Texas pile up it was a long tough job
Stay Safe Ron. Hope You Have A Wonderful Rest Of Your Day Ron. God Bless.
Dang Mr.Pratt you are awesome on backing anything, great job
That road looks bad. You are a good backwards driver 😄.
I feel like it's kind of fitting that I'm watching this right now as it's 48 degrees and raining here in NorCal at the moment. I like the driving in TATOR especially-- LOVE that truck...:) (but it's all good- brings back memories).
I watch your videos all the time.
You drive as good backward as others drive forward! 😉Really enjoy your videos!!! Thank you for all you do!!!
Stay safe out there Ron......👍🇮🇲
Another good recovery! The backward driving was something.
Backing down the county road sure made it easy to get the working end of the rollback into position. Nice bread and butter recovery. Way better than having to work that pileup in Texas.
