Also, after sleep mode, the first key does not register. Also it sometimes starts auto-pressing multiple keys. I have used both, and I love Logitech 915 simply because of best connectivity.
The reason why I like low profile now is because I have developed really bad wrist pains. The flat keyboard really helps not aggravate my wrists when typing.
making a spacebar that doesn't rattle must require some next level technology that we simply don't have in this era and none who is alive now will see it in their lifetime.
I absolutely love the G915 which I've used for a year or two. It works great for switching between my work PC and my personal desktop on the fly and has an absolutely stunning battery life. One day I'll try Razer keyboards again but I had a series of lemons which forced me to try out the Logitech.
One thing you never mention on your Razer reviews is the fact they don’t let you save lightning profile to the on-board memory and force you to use and have their synaps software running at all times, on the other hand on Logitech keyboard and mouses you can save all your custom lightning profiles to the on board memory.
yes. also, i know almost nobody cares, but thats a really good feature especially for linux gaming where first party software to set up peripherals dont usually exist
@@syarifairlangga4608 Because it's a cheap mouse wired. The Viper Ultimate and Pro have onboard profiles, and so does this pro keyboard, not the regular version.
Correct. What funnny is because in their Synaapse software they have a specific place where you can safe profiles to the on-board memory but IT WONT WORK. It seems that only the brightnett is saved? Super strange.
I upgraded from the G915 TKL to the Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL. I think the biggest differentiator is the minimal, office-friendly aesthetics with more solid keys on the Razer device. Also, the anti-grease key caps are a gamechanger. The slower wake up time on the Razer is annoying though. All in all, a very small upgrade, but considering I have to see it 50+ hours per week, I am happy with my purchase.
@@ayberulaskeskin Unfortunately not. The slow wake up time bothered me too much., and I need a full size keyboard for my accounting role. It sits in a box whilst I use the Logitech MX Mechanical Keys now.
The 915 keycaps are garbage. I've had to replace multiple keycaps because the coating wears off. Finding replacements is sort of pain since Logitech doesn't offer them. For the price of the board, they should be doubleshot. Otherwise I really liked the keyboard.
Yeah that's a problem even in standard height ones. Im on my second version of G910 and coating wears off in less than a year. Also stems break or slide around so some caps become literal sticky keys that get stuck to my fingers and pop out of the socket as im lifting my finder. Since is use arrow keys instead of WASD it's Arrow Up that now falls out. Super annoying. I do love the Romer-G tactile switches and the lighting but man they keycaps are not quality.
That’s funny I’ve been using white caps on my linear since release with no issue. The black ones suck ass though. At the time I bought both a white and black version and simply swapped the caps and sold the other because I knew the black were showing grease.
No problems here. Been using it for work and gaming for over a year. Maybe I just have soft hands. Edit: I have the full size version. Not this , but I would assume they use the same caps? Maybe not.
Razer isn’t using doubleshot keys for the death stalker v2 either, I wonder if anyone is going to make us a good quality set of low profile doubleshot keycaps
In my opinion low profile keyboard are very underrated. Typing on them are gravy. My only problem with them are replacing the keycaps. And limited options in the current marketplace.
I’m excited to see Logitech to respond to this with a follow up to the original G915. Low profile mechanical keyboards can be so comfortable to use, because there’s no need for a wristrest since the keys are closer to the desk. It also has a nice modern aesthetic to it. I’d really like to see such Keyboard in a 75% or 65% layout.
Honestly, i don't see it happen anytime soon. Looking at their mice "game", not that they fall short but everything is quite delayed. The new iteration of G502 has been leaked maybe 8 months ago and still no word on it, G303 was delayed as well and so was GPX before that. Yet to hear anything for G703/305 remakes. Last but not least, i'd love to see G Pro, the keyboard in wireless and also G915 remake. G915 despite not being my cup of tea, it's hella sleek. In terms of aesthetics, it's probably among the best/cleanest. Tho, i am well aware that they just come randomly, show everyone how it's done and go back in the shadows until the competition catch up.
There isn't too much need to change with G915, but they do need to update it with USB-C and better doubleshot keycaps with updated Windows logo. Also speaking of keycaps, they need to have the 2nd character on each keys to be lit up as well. It will be mostly refinement they need. If there is I want to wish to have with TKL version, is to maybe have dedicated macro keys just like their full-size version. Or maybe the full-size version have detachable numpad just like Everest keyboards. Feels like Razer refined where the Logitech G915 have flaws, but Logitech still wins on connectivity, battery efficiency, and if you need the extra dedicated keys.
So I'm typing this right now on the G915 TKL. I'd like to say that this review is pretty spot on. However, I picked my kb up renewed for about $120, which I thought was a fair price for the hardware. The loose keycaps are a tad bit annoying at first but not an issue after a day or two. Volume rocker is loose but not to the point where I feel like I'm overshooting the volume I'm trying to change to. Battery life has been great. I love the instant reconnect and responsiveness. Definitely prefer the media/mode switches at the top of the G915. As I side note, this is now my new main controller for fighting games. Anyone in the FG space knows that low profile switches are becoming popular on the new arcade hitboxes and as someone who has mainly played fighting games on keyboard the G915 hits the spot. Combo timing is spot on and with the brown switches I have a lot less accidental inputs.
Hey there! I really appreciate your enthusiasm for tech gadgets and keyboards. If you're looking to optimize your desktop setup, I'd highly recommend checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It's a versatile tool that offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, perfect for keeping your workspace spotless. Plus, its compact size and multiple tubes make it ideal for cleaning those hard-to-reach areas. Be sure to look into it and let me know if you have any other tech-related questions!
Thank you. My K740 was aging out, and I hated the G915 so bad I sent it back in an hour. Glad you convinced me to try my first Razer product, it is a worthy replacement and I love it.
The 915TKL is just amazing, battery life is good, latency is basically not there. I had 2 915TKL's, a black clicky, and a tactile white one, I prefer the aesthetic of the white one and the tactile keys more. I just wished they used Type-C USB instead of the Micro-USB. It would be nice if they made a version where you can remove the numpad or remove it, since its wireless I don't think its much of an issue.
Latency on a keyboard should not be there at all. I mean when razor mice caused latency they acted like it wasn't their fault and totally ignored the faulty sensors in order to make sales (they in all fairness should have gone bankrupt and not been allowed to sell mice unsuitable for the intended purpose. Took me 3 years to get them to admit it was the sensor despite me slapping them in the face with the chips datasheet) ....I'm kinda shocked that they managed to introduce latency to a keyboard though 😄
@@luminousfractal420 There's generally some latency on wireless keyboards. Can't say I've had any issue with my G915. Very rarely there's a small delay (maybe like once every few weeks), but I'm also sitting around 5-6 feet away from my PC cabinet. And there's no need to a button press to wake up. It just immediately works when you start typing as if it's wired. But Logitech's lightspeed connection seems to be an exception, other companies aren't quite there yet.
@@luminousfractal420 Latency always exists no matter if it's wired or wireless and wireless will always have more latency than wired. All preripherals transmit information its just how fast it does it
i got my 915 tkl for an absolute steal so I'm a bit biased, but I absolutely love it. Yes the keycaps are a major letdown but otherwise I have no issues with it, and I absolutely love the feel of the tactile switches. I feel like Razer completely ruined the point of the USB-C port if you can't use the keyboard while plugged in to a charger anyway, meaning you basically need a dedicated keyboard charging cable that stays plugged into your PC. Also, Logitech are bringing dongle-sharing to the G915 starting with the latest version of their software (It's a brand new feature so not surprised you missed it). Nice video overall, thanks
I am happy with you making this video because I felt that all the other hype videos ignored the G915. I think that the full media keys are probably the reason why I loved the TKL version of Logi vs others in the market. As you mentioned it is a really small market of people who are looking for something like this and I hope that it grows in popularity so more brands join in and perhaps a v2 of the G915 finally comes out!
I've been using the Logitech G915 (Clicky switches) for 2 years now. It's an awesome keyboard. No latency, really comfortable to type on and is great for gaming. The only thing I would remove from it are those god awful, pointless G Keys on the left side. I am interested in going with the full size Razer Deathstalker V2 simply because it is very similar to the G915 without those horrible G Keys. However, I won't be buying one until the Purple Clicky switces version comes out. I find with Linear keyboards that the keys accidentally actuate when all you do is rest your fingers on top of them (not actually pressing the keys down) so Linear is too sensitive IMO.
The few things that stop me from buying a Logitech G915 TKL are: - The very fragile and loose keycaps - Special characters like punctuations not letting the RGB light through - The ridiculously high price I would love to all these points fixed/changed/improved and see the price go down to €150 instead of €230. On top of that, since I WFH and game, I don't need the 10 keys all the time. For that reason I'm thinking of getting the TKL version, but I would love to see a separate numpad in the exact same style so it fits perfectly. I'm prepared to pay €30 for that separate numpad, bringing the price to a total of €180. I do also need my dedicated media buttons. I don't even look at keyboards that don't have them dedicated, so that is a major negative point for Razer. Also, I don't think that "low profile keyboards" would be a "niche" segment if there were more and better options than what we have right now. People put their money in stuff that is good and worth the price. If the manufacturers don't improve, then people are never going to consider pulling the trigger to buy their product.
@@oerthling That goal is for when the keyboard no longer has these "problems" that I mentioned. But enjoy your purchase, it's definitely not a bad deal when compared to the MSRP.
@@ActionBrother I'll see about the "rattling" of the keys. But that and the "fragility" of the keys didn't bother most of the reviewers much. So I hope it won't be a problem for me. What almost kept me from ordering it was the PATHETIC micro -USB. This had me break a rule that I won't buy another gadget that doesn't use USB-C (haven't bought non-USB-C on years). Punctuation not having RGB - shrug - would be nicer, but no big deal to me. What convinced me of the G915 and blew the competition away is the battery life. This factor 2 or more better than anything the competition offers. That and connection quality together with a nice look and low profile justified the price (at 160, not 200+ :) ) to me (just about).
A FIX FOR THE LOOSE KEYCAPS, from a G915 owner: Remove all keycaps, clean your board well, then put 2-3 layers of plaster (2x2mm) underneath the center of the keycap. Keyboard becomes so much better you'll never want to use another keycap. I am shaking mine like you are in the video @ 4:00 and it's dead silent.
I've already did the trick and no key wobble! In addition to that I've lubed every Stabilizer. Generally perfect (white model), but I don't like the scratchy brown switches. Maybe I should lube them too
I've been using the G915 for almost a year and I've had a good time with it. It's responsive, the clicks are satisfying, and the instant connectivity and battery life are phenomenal. I've also used the bluetooth option when connecting to my ipad for quick typing and it's been seamless. I really wish the secondary keys had some kind of illumination though as that has been my biggest issue but aside from that, everything has been great.
As an user of 915tkl I agree... Razer has bad firmware, connectivity issue and It does last less than Logitech. I had a lot of keyboards and mousses and even headsets from different companies such as razer, SteelSerie, corsair etc... But in the end It always leads to Logitech for best performance and durability.
@@GD2X G915 is amazing but if he has them both and needs to compare which one is better he's gonna tell it how is. I ordered the Deathstalker because I love my current G915 low-profile but absolutely despise the keycaps with all my heart. It's shiny, it gets greasy, there is wayyy too much rattle for a decent typing experience on a $250 product, etc... So for a few months I had to rock a Keychron Q3 but I'm waiting for the Deathstalker tomorrow and we'll see how it compares. If that still ain't it I'll have to stick with Keychron, they also have low-profile kits but they are so cheap I wonder how good they can really be.
@@Xpert45 I couldn't be happier, I ended up switching almost all of my peripherals to Razer and only kept my old headset (Steelseries Arctis Pro), that's how good the brand is. The software makes the experience very cool when you have multiple Razer products. I always heard bad stuff about Razer products when it comes to build quality and materials but if a product can last 1 year of intense use I'm confident it's gonna last long enough. The only con I have to give to the DeathAdder is that it's light, but so was the G915, if you come from high-profile mechanical boards and it's your first it will definitely feel more like a bendy toy because of it and you'll need a grippy surface to put it on (or just buy better feet to stick on the back) otherwise it might lead to a less enjoyable typing experience.
Been using a G915 Clicky the past year ad absolutely love it. It really is true that there really is no other options in the wireless RGB low profile mechanical keyboard.
I've had the Immersion A3 keyboard for a few months now, and I'm thoroughly impressed. It's a low-profile gem that makes switching between my gaming and work rigs a breeze. The build quality and performance are top-notch, truly elevating my typing and gaming experience.
The Razer charging issue has been patched. I keep mine plugged into the razer Book wall charger to charge and I can still use it. I have the Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL and I love it. It is the perfect middle between a MX Mechanical Mini from logitech and razer gaming keyboard.
I used the G915 now for more than 2 years (I guess). Had issues with the switches (multiple keypress at one keystroke) and had to repair/ exchange two switches already (unfortunately this is not hotswap and you need to undo like 30 screws to open the housing). I assume that all the others will also follow at a later point of time. I should let you know that I am using the keyboard heavily in Homeoffice (each and every day for 8 to 10 hrs). Maybe this contributes to the issues I have with the switches. The other thing which annoys me heavily is the MicroUSB port. Why is that, Logitech? USB-C is better in each and every way. In a premium keyboard I expect premium hardware. But well... also the switches did not last too long for my heavy/professional usage. After work I also casually play games - I never missed a keystroke and did never notice ANY latency/ input delay. I own a white G915TKL and I am totally happy with it. I do not see any dirt or anything on the keyboard or the aluiminium (also not on the white keycaps, for sure not prestine but I would say it can easily be operated a week or two without cleaning and it will still look good)... I assume this only applies to black surfaces. The keycaps are not DoubleShot, true. Would appreciate if they were DS... but this is not any issue for me. I can confirm the keyboard wakes up instantly and is not missing a single keystroke (important for me and the way I work - when I am in a Teams Meeting, the keyboard will idle and sleep after a few mins but it is there instantly, it simply works!). Also I can confirm on the battery life which I consider to be huge. I dim down RGB more than half, I do not charge every week. I think sometimes not even every two weeks. I do not know how it can use that less power, this is also really great. I am totally in for the low profile wireless story - I hate a messy desk (and even with a wireless keyboard I still have some wires on my desk unfortunately). If the razer was hotswappable and faster when esatblishing connection, I would try. I do not care about the money to be honest - if it makes me go faster at work this is money very well spent. Also I can type like hours on that thing without getting tired (with non low profile I needed some rest for the hands in front of my previous keyboard to have no issues). For me the Logitech works fine. It is strong where I need it to be strong (low profile, perfect battery life, instant wake up) and I can live with the "pains" it puts me through (exchanging a switch as the time goes by, charging on micro USB). It has its flaws and still is expensive... for me it is still the best pick. I would have tried the Razer if you did not comment on the connecting speed (for me those seconds matter/ would annoy me) and if the battery life would have been better. Thanks for this great review. I hope we will see other low profile wireless keyboards in the future.
Hey {{3}}! As a fellow tech enthusiast, I understand the importance of a clean and organized desk setup. Have you considered using the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule for maintaining a spotless environment? It offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, perfect for cleaning keyboards and other tight spaces. The reasonable price and high-quality features make it a great addition to any tech arsenal. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
I'm using the deathstalker v2 pro. I'm able to charge the keyboard and use it at the same time. I have it connected directly to the wall via usb adapter..
I love this channel so much, I watch their ads without skipping past them. Dimitri's voiceovers are fun, the photography is top-notch as usual, and his segues are silly and literally make me laugh.
I'm not sure why its not fair to compare them to the other keyboards. These things, especially the Razer are overpriced. I almost bought a tkl corsair but opted for the keychron q3 and I'm glad that I did. Far higher quality for the same price
Corsair have a metal shell and that's about it, still the same crap mass produced stuff we had in the 90's but with some cheap mechanical switches thrown in. If your spending money on a keyboard and can live without easy systray programming and associated data harvesting just go for a custom build. You can get something truly solid these days for 150 (I have the full length Corsair and the tenkeyless version..they're not very nice to use due to the cheap MX clones and horrible backlighting.
10:19 keychron also has low profile keyboards, their K1 v5 TKL and K5 full size keyboards are also really good with optical switch, and are they're all like... HALF the price, so razer and logitech really arent the only two options
Appreciated for the review mate, you really save my $220. Planning to get DS V2 TKL. But the big issue for me is to charge them ( you have to disconnect from everything, thats no no no)I'm more like ready to go. So I think I will stick with cable until they fix that issue or have newer versions
What Dimitri is saying is that you can't charge it while you're across the room from your computer with it through a wall outlet. His gripe is extremely unusual use-case. It's setup to be charged through your supplied dongle like most normal people would be doing it. So it stops transmitting wireless connection because it's connect to your PC.
I got the G915 Clicky, for 156e shipped. Been really, really happy with it. Had the Orion Spectrum earlier and never really liked the way those keys felt. With the clicky keys, my typing got A LOT faster and better. I also love the sound they make, it's like soothing my mind as I type away... 😁 I know all people doesn't like that clicking. But I really do!
I love my G915 TLK but there are a lot of problems. The coating wears off the keys after about 1 year of use. Initial battery life was very good, but after 1 year it is much diminished. The keys have a lot of rattle and are very unstable to type on. You need separate dongle for keyboard and mouse. The desktop application stopped working, but did work again after uninstall and reinstall. It an expensive keyboard that shows heavy signs of wear after 1 year of use. All very much a shame, because I love it.
My G915 TKL just started to malfunction, so I am looking for an alternative and it seems really that the razer is the only such competitor, which is really a shame. Nuphy has a nice Gem 80 TKL, but they are only shine-through keys looks crap and also it does not provide low-profile keys like on their other devices. What really gets me with Razer is this sluggish wake up mode, I don't know if I would ever get used to that. UPDATE: I just got Razer DS Pro today and found out an incredible design flaw which does not make any sense to me - they decided they would not allow any on board memory custom profile saving. So unless you are willing to run Synapse as an extra baggage on all the time win the Windows, you will not have any options to customize your backlit color scheme. Would you believe this audacity? Logitech might be running on crappy G-Hub and has some weird design choices in terms of non-swappable switches and keycaps and obsolete micro-usb port, but at least gives you two customizable onboard memory slots you can run from anywhere. Common Razer, really?
I adore my G915 TKL Tactile. It feels like the desktop mechanical keyboard for people that are used to laptops. Best of both worlds. I get that some people don't like how the keys "swim", as Dmitri put it, but IMO it gives it a bit of a softer feel, which is totally preferential.
Hey {{3}},As a fellow tech enthusiast, I totally agree with your sentiment. The G915 TKL is indeed an excellent keyboard, and I appreciate its durability and long battery life. By the way, have you heard of the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule? It's a handy tool for keeping your desktop setup clean and spotless. It's reasonably priced and offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities. Check it out!
My G915 TKL is black and has tactile switches, so the white one shouldn't be the only one that has them. Maybe only select stores might sell it as an option? I got mine from Best Buy here in the US. But anyway, I've been happy with my G915 TKL so far. It's worked as a nice keyboard for both gaming and work (the latter especially since I go to the office twice a month now). Now if Logitech did a refresh on the G915 series, that would be cool. But I doubt they have plans for that any time soon.
I loved the G915 so damn much...I actually bought a second one so I could have a 100% sized one (my first one) for office and the TKL (my second one) for gaming at home. But then a few days ago my second one (the tkl) broke...kinda. I now have the known problem of "double typing". It appeared 25 months after buying my first g915 (not the tkl). I tried everything Logitech and youtubers recommend but nothing helped. I then got my older 100% G915 out the closet and voila...same mistake all of a sudden after not being used for months and being stored in a dust free enviroment since I was working from home for almost 2 years now so I took it back home from my office. Logitech Support has been horrible and I will probably never buy a piece of periphery from them ever agai. What a shame - I LOVED this keyboard :'(
Multimedia keys are underrated, shame that it is a feature that most premium keyboards are being skipped. I felt hard to justify to buy expensive keyboard not having those extra keys and just plain keyboards. I love having to perform actions directly without fiddly FN key combinations and such.
Nice review but one question remains unanswered😊 It's not even answer on the Razer website. Can the deathwalker be used with Android and/or iPhone/Apple TV?
Got a full Logitech set with G1915 TKL white tactile and Pro X Superlight mouse (white as well), love them because of quality, responsiveness, battery life is enormous, and the Logitech G Hub software is light and unobstrusive (not like ICUE, gosh that thing is even hard to remove!!) Don't think much good of Razer and their shiny stuff aimed at teens, maybe I'm wrong :)
What I would love for my gaming keyboard: - Compact (60%/65%) - Wireless - Hot swapable - Good keycaps(pbt?) But there aren’t many options in the market atm, and mostly are custom mechanical keyboard which cost too much.
Is this a new camera or upload compression? You're looking wicked sharp today. Oh - and good content! Why can't I find a mechanical-optical keyboard with BROWN feel switches? I want to feel the tactile bump without having to mute myself every time I type.
I bought DS v2 Pro full size last week, and seems I'm gonna return before 14 days expire. So far, it seems Razer Chroma app makes the keyboard malfunction. Actually chroma app has the similar affect on my Razer Naga v2 Pro mouse. So, the weirdest thing is, when you close Chroma, they behave normal. But sometimes when the app is on, they behave totally abnormal. That's not all, sometimes a random key stuck and it doesn't get normal until you press the key again. Also "turn off the lights when pc is off" wasn't working until I did firmware update. Soo, in just 4 days I had that much issues. That's soo sad, because Razer DS v2 pro is obvious winner for low profile wireless keyboard for me, (cmon, in 2023 Logitech uses micro usb and unacceptable keycaps which are just ready to be broken). I think I will just get another ds v2 pro, hope the issues I am having are just factory defects that happened only this particular product. So whoever buys Razer product, use as much as you can before your 14 days return time expires.
I don't have the issue with the keyboard disconnecting when plugged into a wall wart. Maybe the firmware got updated in the past year. However, the connection strength between the keyboard and dongle under either condition is shockingly weak. If I lean back and cross my legs and lay the keyboard in my lap, disconnected. I even mounted the dongle from above on a mic and it still does the same thing. Just get a leg near the f4 and the keyboard is off. That doesn't happen with any other keyboard I have, and I have more than a dozen of these wireless mechanical keyboards.
I have the G915 TKL and I absolutely LOVE it! I think I agree with mostly everything in this video though. I think the BIGGEST thing to point out is that this particular type of keyboard is a dream for travel. A thin and low-profile TKL instead of a 60% that's chunky is so much better. I have a sleeve for the 915 TKL and bring it with me in my backpack everywhere I go. I definitely wish it was USB-C to save me on a cable though. I think everything about the Deathstalker TKL is just all positives for me, however. I would absolutely pick it up. To be straight forward, the few cons like the volume rocker not waking the keyboard, the slowness to connect (a few seconds is still a big deal for me, the G915 is practically instant), and the battery life are huge. Though, I turn my RGB down pretty far on the G915 to have something illuminate just enough but not eat up a lot of battery, but that's just further into the problem because I'm getting a ton of battery life on it. I hope Logitech takes everything the Deathstalker is and just beefs the 915 up. Tactile volume rocker, USB-C, less oil showing and better caps/base (because dear god am I oily and I really want my keyboard to look a LITTLE clean lol), the three bluetooth connections and the battery life indicator are pretty massive to me. Or if Razer fixes some of their issues, then I've found my next keyboard. Hopefully this competition lowers the price, cause yes, the G915 was expensive even on sale and the Deathstalker being similar is rough still. The features of both do make ME specifically feel fine to buy it, since there's nothing else that comes close, but still..
bump on the sleeve question, also if you use ghub you can add a battery level indicator option to one of the g keys. unfortunately for the tkl those are all the function keys so I made F1 my G-shift then whilst holding F1 pressing F2 activates F1 and F3 activates battery level. the G keys on the full size are incredibly useful, the only way I could see they could improve it for the tkl is to make fn also act as the G-shift key.
Been using my 915 tkl white for 2 years now and live it. The white one Doesn't have the oily keys or fingerprint issue for some reason. This review is quite accurate though. The keys are wobbly but the instant connection, ease to move between my mac and pc through Bluetooth and lightspeed, and the looooooooooong battery life rate way higher for me.
I have a G915 clicky and I'm low profile for life. I'm all for Razer Deathstalker as I want to see more low profile wireless keyboards. I'm eyeing it if I'm ever SoL on my G915.
The thing is that I'm justyfing getting a Deathstalker V2 pro in order to be able to have my personal computer connected via cable and on the same desk I'm running my work laptop which I thought I'd be able to connect to via bluetooth if need be. But from what I'm hearing thats a no go with Razer as it disables all wireless connectivity while the cable is plugged in - thats a pretty huge deal breaker for me. Hoping they can fix it with a firmware update or I'll just wait for a G915 refresh. Appreciate the review Dimitri!
6:25 This is a defect! I returned three of them to finally get one with all dampeners stable. Do not settle for this if you get a keyboard with this issue. It's $250, you deserve a perfect one.
They are neat as far as offering wireless like mice and low profile too. Yeah pricey, but would be good to see more of these, also with PBT keycaps, optical switches with Cherry MX stem support, but extra housing for stability, hot-swap support, really that would be amazing.
i’m from NA, a quick amazon search showed the g915tkl grey in a tactile option, so i don’t know why they didn’t show the g915tkl available in all three switches. probably is an EU thing
I have a G815 and I see no reason to change. Yes the caps are better and the switches too apparently as well as the volume rocker. But I have dedicated macros and media keys which are worth more to me than those things. I also prefer the harder bottom-out of the Logitech. Granted if it were to break I would probably get a Deathstalker V2 instead of another Logitech but there is certainly nothing tempting me to upgrade here.
I have a G815 and I'm actually wanting to change haha. I love low profile keyboards, but I'm really wanting something wireless. My GF and I share my PC and having to move the keyboard and deal with the wire to look near every time is a chore. I think I'm gonna go with Razer's offering this go around, not only cause of the stuff mentioned in the video but the all black build better suited my setup than the brushed aluminum look of the Logitech board
i have used keyboards with additional macro keys all my life and always loved short and quick keystrokes, when i saw the logitech g815 it was a no brainer for me. if only logitech refreshed their 815/915 to have usb c, optical switches, and use cherry stems. and why not throw in removeable switches just for fun.
Yeah i got deathstalker and 50 days with no RGB is BS. It goes 5 days max without any RGB. I've had 3-4 keyboards now and it's a typical issue. Honestly typing is great but the battery life started to bug me so much... I have to recharge it every 3 days if I occasionally tuirn the RGB on....
a thing very important that you have not said, in the g915 the keys are not visible without lighting, which forces you to use the leds limiting the battery autonomy, the razer is not necessary to use the lighting because you can see the keycaps characters
I understand it can only be a "fair" comparison when you uses the linear model on both keyboards, but IMO that is unfair to the G915 as a whole, considering how the tactile has always been the most popular variant (this is even more so the case with Logitech's MX Mechanical, at least that's what I learnt from a staff in a Logitech brick-and-mortar store). The fact that Razer only releases the DS2 Pro with 1 single switch type at launch (Clicky at Q4, and no plan for tactile) should receive more roasting.
I have the Deathstalker v2 Pro. It's beautiful. The keys feel great. However, it takes forever to connect. Sometimes it'll just lose connection in the middle of gaming, and what's worse...work. Same with whatever Razer mouse I have. The cursor will move but the triggers don't work. And sometimes it's for minutes at a time. I'm just grateful I kept my Logitech peripherals at this point. I know this is an old vid and most folks won't see it but from my experience, pass on Razer products.
As I've been using a chiclet style keyboard since forever, when I went for a keyboard upgrade there wasn't much option in the market fulfilling my criteria of wireless+low-profile+rgb. So when the 915 came out, it was love at first sight. Unfortunately after all these time logitech still don't wanna sell it in India and getting one shipped via 3rd party vendors simple doubles the price tag. But before I go for razor I'd really love to hear something about coolermaster SK651. SInce I'm not very comfortable with the after sells service razer provides only via 3rd party.
Try to look for G913 model number... IDK why, but I just learned on western markets it's called g915... on asian markets it's g913. But they're the same.
Redragon k621 Horus? Can you do a review/comparison video with that and these. It looks to be nearly the same. Would love to know if it actually compares.
Hi ya'll, I just purchased the TKL version of this keyboard actually. And I wanted to know if anyone who also owns the keyboard has experienced any slight wobble/instability? When I have the keyboard completely flat, I can press the top left or right corner down ever so slightly :/ It just feels that the keyboard doesn't lay entirely flat and even spins a little from the center? Just wanted to know if it's supposed to be like this or not. Cuz if it is, I'm gonna return it. But if it's just mine, then I'll get a replacement cuz I'm really digging the low profile keys. Thanks in advance guys!
For 2024, any other good option for TKL wireless gaming keyborads? Doesn't have to be low profile, and I don't care about the price. (Low Latency & Switchs are important though)
I have the g915 tkl and I love it but after a year or two, a key was double pressing, one on the down stroke and one on the up stroke, what could be going on here? Do I need to replace the switch?
One important note to non-englisch layout users: The numers have NO SECONDARY OPTION with BACKLIT, it's just lasered on the front and no light shines through. So if your're not perfect touch typing you have to memorize the secondary options. This is super rediculous, and exactly like Logitec did it. Shame.
Glad I stumbled across this video as I've been looking at the TKL version of my 915 recently for more mouse space and converting all my gear to all white, but then I saw the Razer at Best Buy and was like damn this looks like a cleaner version of my 915 so I might have to switch, but still stuck with the G502 X Plus in white I've been eyeing
As I G915 owner in the UK, I must say I've been really happy with it. They can be had brand new for much less than the Razer and although it's not as good, it's still a great wireless low profile keyboard. What mouse pad is that Dimitri? Thanks man.
I'm using a black G915 TKL with Tactile switches right now. Readily available on Amazon and Logitech's own website. Maybe it's a regional difference and it's not available in NA?
I've tested the G915 and was disappointed. It's really the wiggling of the keys plus the force i needed to trigger the keys. Wanted to test linear as well, but i decided against it since the wobbly keys really bothered me. Was hoping for a wireless Cherry 10.1n but i might give this another go. I am on a wireless Cherry Scissor keaboard right now which is almost perfect for me - but it has ghosting.
I had the Corsair K70 MK2 Low Profile which had a bad layout. Then I bought the Sharkoon PureWriter which is awesome, but not wireless. Then I switched to the 915TKL and was astonished, but still feel like there could be more, e.g. the loose wobbling keycaps were a little disappointing, but great keyboard nevertheless. Now I also have the DS V2 Pro and it feels like I have finished the search... BUT still the special characters (DE layout) are not backlighted which is a pain to find on the market... Sharkoon does it, why not Razer and Logitech? Short: DS V2 Pro wins in my opinion!
I bought my G915 back in 2019 for AU$280 (or about US$180), the Razer looks nice and maybe be the next one I buy. but my G915 is still as good as new even with me being heavy user and gamer, keys shows no signs of wear and battery with brightness on low still last a month before needing to charge. So Logitech built it to last. my previous one was Razer Blackwidow Chroma and the WASD keys was completely knackered in under 2 years.
I recently learned about the K5 SE from Keychron which is roughly half the price compared to both the Deathstalker V2 and G915. Should do a comparison to that.
The G915 TKL is my most favourite keyboard ever, it has everything I need and wanted, still works flawlessly, feels and sounds great, has all the necessary features without being overbearing or ugly and the charge lasts long enough for everyday use (I think I'd have to charge it every 2-3 weeks or so, using it at least 10 hours on weekdays). So I'd say if these keyboards offer all the features you want, go for it, even if the prices are of course very high and the thing should have come with USB-C to begin with ^^ Mice on the other hand break so quickly regardless of price point, that really irritates me.
I like to keep an eye on the TKL space from time to time to see how things are moving along. Just wish a brand would do what Corsair did with the K70 TKL (less weird tournament stuff) but well good, make it decently competitive with the custom keyboard space, been tempted to do a custom TKL but the thing stopping me I dont like using function layers (just a hassle IMO), just allow me to have dedicated media keys in a nice TKL with decent RGB lighting!
I dont really get why mechanical medium profile keyboards arent more popular - especially TKLs. a) membrane keyboards with medium profile used to be all the rage b) membrane keyboards dont make a lot of noise, so why would you suddenly want the clickety-klack switches that are the bulk of options? b) lower profile is better for writsts c) no numpad is also better for wrists and overall posture (unless you REALLY need numpad because you're an accountant) d) dedicated media controls used to be standard, but are implemented into mechanical only recently So only now we're getting what we had with membrane keybs, but with mechanical switches. Why so long? Why so... 'niche'? Somebody help me understand
A question to an older video, but would you think that the keys on the Deathstalker are "longish" fingernail friendly for typing, programming, etc.? I currently use an original Blackwidow Chroma (probably 7ish years old now) and have been looking to upgrade. It isn't bad to type on with a little longer nails, but I do at times find my nails accidently hitting other keys when typing fast. I am not sure if this is because they are high profile keys, super responsive over all this time, or what.
Nuphy air 75 kinda stomps both for a low profile wireless, at around half the price. PBT keycaps unlike the Razer ABS. Can easily lube the switches and stabz since it's hot swap, and can easily put foam underneath it. Resulting in substantially superior sound and feel. IMO a superior 75% size too for more mouse room than both TKL or Fullsize. My 915 TKL is garbage in comparison.
It's a shame the Nuphy doesn't come as an ISO version. Had 2 G915s too and indeed they're garbage as anyhing else vom LogitechG. Rocking a Keychron K3 now and loving it.
Coming from membrane laptops I found lots of unintentional keypresses, all until I found out that these switches are hotswappable, ordered keychron browns, which seemed to still activate too early, so removed the trigger springs and voila! Crisp tactile perfection.
Yeah--what's up with the friggin Micro-USB on the G915--right? Anyways, I've got so many brand-new KBs from both MFGs, that I just wanted to see what you had to say, because sometimes I wonder if the things I'm thinking are "normal" thoughts, or if maybe I am just much more picky than most. But it seems you mention the same things, more-or-less, that I notice or think about myself, at least between these boards (or the similar boards to them). I felt the point you made about the Razer "reconnect" BT lag was probably the single most important con that bugs me! What's up with that?! It's the same issue for their mice; I "click click click", and oh, yeah, "it's just reconnecting, like usual". One thing I do want to say to all those with "rattling issues"; I used to have a problem with mice where my hold would always cause me unintended right-clicks. It was annoying and one day I decided to fix the issue. I chose some of the foam that's easily compressed, not the very dense stuff, but the lightweight foam which is quite soft and usually found inside plastic rifle/pistol cases. I would cut a very small piece, then I would take a tooth pick and pack the foam in between the mouse external button and mouse base body (where the gap exists for the button to move). I found this was a very good way to control the pressure required to achieve the "click". If still getting unintended clicks, I would cut a slightly bigger foam piece, and re-pack it under the mouse button until it was just right for my preferences. I recommend anyone try this if you want to customize your click pressure of mice buttons. Now, with everyone talking about keyboard keys rattling, I wonder if maybe this same sort of mod could be used to dampen KB keys from rattling. It may not be a fun process, but the results one might actually achieve could be well worth the time spent testing it on a few keys to find out. ;) Worst case scenario is that it might require some time to figure out the optimal amount of foam for each key--but I think it should work, and possibly add a level of customization for the user to "tune" their KBs. Give it a try, it could be well worth the time spent "ridding the rattle" if you get it right!
the downside of the Razer Deathstalker is no more. I can plug in a cable from a USB Charging device and have still the wireless connection to the PC.
you still need to run Synapse if you want any customizations saved which sucks big time
Also, after sleep mode, the first key does not register. Also it sometimes starts auto-pressing multiple keys. I have used both, and I love Logitech 915 simply because of best connectivity.
The reason why I like low profile now is because I have developed really bad wrist pains. The flat keyboard really helps not aggravate my wrists when typing.
Have you thought of using a wrist rest for high profile keyboards? Its a must
Same
@@Novskyy621 wrist rest takes up desk space real estate
making a spacebar that doesn't rattle must require some next level technology that we simply don't have in this era and none who is alive now will see it in their lifetime.
True i have Viper Mini and need Synapse to config the light wtf.
And worst the app need more than 500MB of space
yes. also, i know almost nobody cares, but thats a really good feature especially for linux gaming where first party software to set up peripherals dont usually exist
The pro has onboard profiles.
Hey bro are you still happy with your Deathstalker after 10 month?
@@ayberulaskeskin Unfortunately not. The slow wake up time bothered me too much., and I need a full size keyboard for my accounting role. It sits in a box whilst I use the Logitech MX Mechanical Keys now.
You be looking to sell it? 😂
Glad I made the right choice going with Logitech after all :D@@tylerhuntley9454
With proper firmware update the DS V2 wakes up immediately. Tested it, nearly instant on like the Logitec. @@tylerhuntley9454
Maybe not.
@@Suntika they use the same caps
I hope they make that deathstalker v2 in a 65% or 75% insta buy or even the g915
If u use colicky ur a nerd n I should slap u n stuff u into a locker
Dongle sharing for 915 tkl? Does that mean I can finally use it with my g pro with 1 dongle?
@@4CETH4N Yes, the feature is available in the latest software. It allows you to pair your mouse to the keyboard dongle.
As a note, Logitech recommends in the software release notes, having both dongles working individually for best performance.
@@thq4941 yeah that seems to be the case for the Razer one too, given that they mentioned performance issues in the video
How are you able to do it?
I am happy with you making this video because I felt that all the other hype videos ignored the G915. I think that the full media keys are probably the reason why I loved the TKL version of Logi vs others in the market. As you mentioned it is a really small market of people who are looking for something like this and I hope that it grows in popularity so more brands join in and perhaps a v2 of the G915 finally comes out!
I can’t wait for a V2 of the 915. Hopefully soon.

Great video! Are you working on a Wooting 60HE review?
The few things that stop me from buying a Logitech G915 TKL are:
- The very fragile and loose keycaps
- Special characters like punctuations not letting the RGB light through
- The ridiculously high price
I would love to all these points fixed/changed/improved and see the price go down to €150 instead of €230.
I Just bought the G915 TKL for 160 EUR (Amazon) - not that far from your 150 goal :)
(Black version, white costs more )
@@oerthling That goal is for when the keyboard no longer has these "problems" that I mentioned.
Maybe I should lube them too
wdym by plaster? can you name the products you used please
@@charlesm.2604 are you happy with your Deathstalker one year after the purchase, mate?
I got the g815 (wired version of the 915) and I just can't go back to normal keycaps. I just love the low profile one too much now!
I've had the Immersion A3 keyboard for a few months now, and I'm thoroughly impressed. It's a low-profile gem that makes switching between my gaming and work rigs a breeze. The build quality and performance are top-notch, truly elevating my typing and gaming experience.
3:15 Top notch editing right there! well done :D
The Razer charging issue has been patched. I keep mine plugged into the razer Book wall charger to charge and I can still use it. I have the Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL and I love it. It is the perfect middle between a MX Mechanical Mini from logitech and razer gaming keyboard.
Do you have any plans for doing a side-by-side comparison of the 915 Lightspeed and 915x Lightspeed keyboards?
Are you actually not recommending the razer keyboard for competitive play? 8:32
@@luminousfractal420 Yeah, the OG k70 rgb is what I had previous to the Q3. I'm converting it to usb c and hotswap with millmax sockets just for fun.
10:19 keychron also has low profile keyboards, their K1 v5 TKL and K5 full size keyboards are also really good with optical switch, and are they're all like... HALF the price, so razer and logitech really arent the only two options
but completely unsuitable for playing games, especially wireless
@@rn-bq9he ok yea that one is a giant downside, good point!
Appreciated for the review mate, you really save my $220. Planning to get DS V2 TKL. But the big issue for me is to charge them ( you have to disconnect from everything, thats no no no)I'm more like ready to go. So I think I will stick with cable until they fix that issue or have newer versions
I have one and the Most of the Time its on cable so its always 100%. What do u mean with disconnect from everything ?
I know all people doesn't like that clicking. But I really do!
Love the review comparison of the Razor vs Logitech. 👌
Heavily recommend checking out the air75 for your low profile needs.
Common Razer, really?
so the razer doesn't move around on the mousepad while the logitech moves around on wood? i'm in shock.
bahahahahaha i missed this until i saw the comment, gold!
I adore my G915 TKL Tactile. It feels like the desktop mechanical keyboard for people that are used to laptops. Best of both worlds. I get that some people don't like how the keys "swim", as Dmitri put it, but IMO it gives it a bit of a softer feel, which is totally preferential.
yess coming from laptop use of over 10yrs the g915 is great keyboard and not to big of a jump from laptop to keyboard
What a shame - I LOVED this keyboard :'(
rip chatter, me, too; but do I want to switch to the DSP for the same expensive price point
Personally my logi keycaps were fine, i have been using it for a good 10 months now and no issues are present and the extra mutimedia buttons are nice
Multimedia keys are underrated, shame that it is a feature that most premium keyboards are being skipped. I felt hard to justify to buy expensive keyboard not having those extra keys and just plain keyboards. I love having to perform actions directly without fiddly FN key combinations and such.
I hate how shiny my keys are getting, especially the WASD area
Have you looked at the Keychron K5 as a budget competitor in this space? The K1 was arguably the pioneer after all.
Nice review but one question remains unanswered😊 It's not even answer on the Razer website. Can the deathwalker be used with Android and/or iPhone/Apple TV?
Got a full Logitech set with G1915 TKL white tactile and Pro X Superlight mouse (white as well), love them because of quality, responsiveness, battery life is enormous, and the Logitech G Hub software is light and unobstrusive (not like ICUE, gosh that thing is even hard to remove!!)
Don't think much good of Razer and their shiny stuff aimed at teens, maybe I'm wrong :)
I really NEVER understood the complaint about the "loose" key caps. I got the G915 and have no problems with it. Y'all some delicate flowers XD
I m surprised to not see you guys review the Wooting 60HE?
What I would love for my gaming keyboard:
- Compact (60%/65%)
- Wireless
- Hot swapable
- Good keycaps(pbt?)
But there aren’t many options in the market atm, and mostly are custom mechanical keyboard which cost too much.

Is this a new camera or upload compression? You're looking wicked sharp today. Oh - and good content! Why can't I find a mechanical-optical keyboard with BROWN feel switches? I want to feel the tactile bump without having to mute myself every time I type.

This was just the video I was looking for - Thank you!
The features of both do make ME specifically feel fine to buy it, since there's nothing else that comes close, but still..
mind if i ask what sleeve you're using?
bump on the sleeve question, also if you use ghub you can add a battery level indicator option to one of the g keys. unfortunately for the tkl those are all the function keys so I made F1 my G-shift then whilst holding F1 pressing F2 activates F1 and F3 activates battery level. the G keys on the full size are incredibly useful, the only way I could see they could improve it for the tkl is to make fn also act as the G-shift key.
Appreciate the review Dimitri!
can you make a latency and battery life test on these devices?
👆👆🅷🅸🆃 🅼🅴 🆄🅿️🥳
6:25 This is a defect! I returned three of them to finally get one with all dampeners stable. Do not settle for this if you get a keyboard with this issue. It's $250, you deserve a perfect one.
Really? Because we've had about a dozen of these and they've all had the wobble.

Nice glasses frame, can you tell me the brand thanks ?
Pray tell us, how were you able to use the Deathstalker for 2 months when it launched only towards the end of July?
They are neat as far as offering wireless like mice and low profile too. Yeah pricey, but would be good to see more of these, also with PBT keycaps, optical switches with Cherry MX stem support, but extra housing for stability, hot-swap support, really that would be amazing.
Interesting, I have 915TKL in grey with Tactile switches. Maybe it's an NA thing that you don't have this option?
i’m from NA, a quick amazon search showed the g915tkl grey in a tactile option, so i don’t know why they didn’t show the g915tkl available in all three switches. probably is an EU thing
I bought my brown switch grey tkl from Best Buy in Cali. So 🤷♂️
I have a G815 and I see no reason to change.
2:05 This is actually an advantage for the G915 - a flat typing angle is better ergonomically speaking
You can get the black G915 TKL with tactile switches...
Indeed, I got one myself.
@@Roman-nu1om Same
luckily they are not the only ones, keychron makes low profile wireless KB's that are less then half the price and have hot swap options :)
i have the deathstalker tkl and i use a wall plug to charge it. i lose nothing as far as connectivity. you must be having a bug on your end
Tks for reporting this. Might still get the DS still with this bit of info!
Confirm, have checked and it works with 2.4 while charging
Yeah i got deathstalker and 50 days with no RGB is BS. It goes 5 days max without any RGB. I've had 3-4 keyboards now and it's a typical issue. Honestly typing is great but the battery life started to bug me so much... I have to recharge it every 3 days if I occasionally tuirn the RGB on....
a thing very important that you have not said, in the g915 the keys are not visible without lighting, which forces you to use the leds limiting the battery autonomy, the razer is not necessary to use the lighting because you can see the keycaps characters
Don't have a problem charging the Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL whilst using it... love it
I understand it can only be a "fair" comparison when you uses the linear model on both keyboards, but IMO that is unfair to the G915 as a whole, considering how the tactile has always been the most popular variant (this is even more so the case with Logitech's MX Mechanical, at least that's what I learnt from a staff in a Logitech brick-and-mortar store).
Get yourself a Keychron K1
@@katzicael does it have a reliable 2.4ghz wireless?
My favorite thing about this review is I immediately identify with the reviewer as I am also a 3(4) finger typer
I have the g915 tkl and I love it but after a year or two, a key was double pressing, one on the down stroke and one on the up stroke, what could be going on here? Do I need to replace the switch?
What do you mean? I have 915k tkl lightspeed tactile switches. And i love it, got it for £108 on prime day. Have 0 problems with it.
Can you comment if the 915X is now better than the death stalker v2 pro?
Is wrist comfort good with these boards since there is no wrist rest?
If not this keyboard for a full size keyboard, then which one?
usb c type alone is the reason for me alrdy.
i frkin hate having multiple types of cables on my desk.
So I'd say if these keyboards offer all the features you want, go for it, even if the prices are of course very high and the thing should have come with USB-C to begin with ^^
Mice on the other hand break so quickly regardless of price point, that really irritates me.
I dont really get why mechanical medium profile keyboards arent more popular - especially TKLs.
a) membrane keyboards with medium profile used to be all the rage
b) membrane keyboards dont make a lot of noise, so why would you suddenly want the clickety-klack switches that are the bulk of options?
b) lower profile is better for writsts
c) no numpad is also better for wrists and overall posture (unless you REALLY need numpad because you're an accountant)
d) dedicated media controls used to be standard, but are implemented into mechanical only recently
So only now we're getting what we had with membrane keybs, but with mechanical switches. Why so long? Why so... 'niche'? Somebody help me understand
Deathstalker V2 Pro or Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro for wireless ? can't get which is better
It's the only thing I can recommend for someone not wanting or willing to solder their own kit. The air75 also has a really clean aesthetic.
