Really Helpful. Gives me motivation 😂 not sure how to finish up my first piece. Kinda got lost🙃...... so I smoked some weed while watching this video. Gave me some ideas.
Can you do a tutorial on how you attach your bead strip to leather? I have seen many on how to do it for a belt but I really wanna do it for a hatband!
I am a crafter Jessica so I do beadwork and recycle art and many things I do are for the first time so even though I have been doing this for 40 years there are many things I would like to do that I haven't done before. Thanks for your instruction it was clear and well done. :)
I was looking up bead loom videos and ran across your videos. I really enjoyed them and they gave me inspiration for bead work in yarn crafts. Thank you and I wish you much success!
Jessica I hope this gets to you I watched this video and the bracelet you have on is exactly what I want to do. I bead on and off a loom, I have some loom work done and I want to make bracelets with leather backing and the snaps like the one you have on. can you do a video that demonstrates how to put loom bead work onto leather with ends so that snaps can be put on as the clasp. Please it would mean so very much to me as I can't find any videos on what I need to learn, please. Oh one more thing I don't have a leather sewing machine to do the edges with which I can see yours doesn't have the stitched edges like I have seen but yours maybe sewed on from what I see. I hope you get this and I look forward to a reply or video
Thank you so much for this video. I have been beading for many years and decided to try my hand at a hat band for my brother who rides in rodeos. This video was very helpful and showing me how to attach it to leather. I have a question I made it 19 inches long is that a good length or is that too long or too short? Would you mind advising me as to what is a good standard of length? Thanks again. Also where do you get your leather?
stephanie sanchez I found it in my moms old drafting stuff. It’s called a parallel rolling ruler. You can get one off Amazon right now. Thank you for watching my video😁👍
I have another video that i tried to show what I do. But I like to use a good leather glue cause it gives a little bit more flex and also a couple of tack down stickers. As well as fold the ends over on the threads to hold them on the leather. I’m going to try to make a video of beginning to end. Thanks so much for watching 👍👍
I get my leathers from Helford Hides in Edmonton Alberta. They have an online catalogue. But I go into the store because they have scrap bins and I can grab some stuff cheaper. They are cattle hides I’m sure, never thought to actually ask. That was a black www.halfordsmailorder.com/garment-split-hides-cow/garment-moccasin-split-1-lecowblk1garspl-group
@@susanp7251 it’s called Garment Moccasin split. They come in different colours. I cut the size I need. I will try to make another video of beginning to end of all steps on a hat band.
Rise Valhalla thanks for watching my video. I use 10/0 and side D nylon thread and size 11 beading needle. Feel free to ask me anything. I’d be happy to help.
I have works in a gallery, www.bearclawgallery.com under the paintings tab and you'll see my name Jessica Desmoulin or you may request a quote for a personalized piece at jessica.desmoulin@yahoo.ca which is what that hat band was. I made it for a family and had put there family name on them. Thank you so much for your interest and support. Chi-miigwech - Thank You
Excellent! First I've seen with full leather backing for a hat band! Thank you.
Thank you for the great video. It made me want to try it.

I will do a video from beginning to end. Promise. As soon as I finish my painting for and exhibit I have in the next couple weeks.
What kind of leather did you glue the strip onto? It's a beautiful finish and much better than many I have seen. thank you for sharing.
Thank you. I use a leather glue that I buy from Michael’s hobby store.
I also just use split hide from Halford hides in Edmonton Alberta.
So when you punch the 2 holes on the ends for the lace it’s going through the leather and beads?
No I watched again and saw how it was just folded up to the beadwork.
That punch u calling is a leather awel
Very, very, nice! Thanks for sharing your talent! Do you wear that jump ring spreader as a regular ring?
Thanks for watching. I appreciate you. No I don’t wear the ring regularly, 😉. I’d be scared to lose it, 😂
Do you have a link of where you got the rivet kit from Amazon, it’s exactly what I’m looking for?

hello, I had a question, what is that ruler called? or where did you get? It's perfect to get perfect hole measurements!!

Thank you! Did you do the bracelet you are wearing?
Yep. It’s one of my first. I’ve worn it almost everyday for years now.
Hey Jessica! How to you adhere your loomed beadwork on the leather?

Thank you very much for your videos. They are very helpful, especially for beginners. Sharing is caring.
Thank you 🙏
What length is the band?
I measure the hat then take off 1.5 inch for the leather ends and 1/2 inch for the room between the ties.
