If you are talking about both ends that do not have beads, those are the woven threads that I start before I begin to bead and when I end my pattern. Not only does it keep the beads from falling off, but it allows the leather pieces to get a better grip on the band. I’ve tried to do the leather pieces without weaving the ends of my bands and they always found a way to slip out and unravel.
Hey lady! Did you ever end up making a video about hat band length for different sized hats? You mentioned it in the part 1 of this series but I can’t find it?
I’m not 100% positive to be honest! Sometimes I get loads of questions and lose track. I will add this to my list of To Do’s. Check back in a few days for a new post on it. I’d do it asap but I have a concussion at the moment and screen time irritates it more😢
My woven ends are usually about 1” for both and the beaded portion itself is always 20”. This allows me to stay more consistent and then I adjust the leather ends lengths to each individual hat size!
Hello! Before I start my beads, I weave my string above the first strand, below the next, above, and repeat. I do this back and fourth until I have at least an inch of weave done before starting my beads. It does not have to be tight but should be pretty full of string which allows the leather to grip the surface easier when glued together and prevents it from falling out. I do also add a little bit of glue on the weave to make sure it does not come unraveled while I’m working. I end it the same way. If you come back and visit my page in the next couple of weeks, I will post a video on how I do this(:
We custom make our hat bands so that they fit the owners hats specifically so each bands measurements are different. If you are looking for a generic size chart, I would recommend the beaded portion to be 20 inches long and the leather ends you can adjust the size according to the hat.
Beautiful finished product!
What is wrapped around the piece before you add the leather? I will give this a try, on my first hat band

I am not understanding so the tales are woven in or tied to make it that look ?

@@shadyladiestrading5206 Thank you
Where do I find those clamps?
These clamps were purchased at Home Depot. You can use regular metal clamps bought from Walmart to hold chip bags closed too!
How did you end your beads
