Ehh the first 4 episodes are good but for me its the first 4 episodes and the last 4 episodes are the best in my opinion im guessing that if rena gets into crazy/killer mode she steals the spotlight from keichi and the others due to her chilling voice which still gets to me surprisingly
It's the japanese culture, Japanese are very respectful, many times to a toxic degree, Mion couldn't stop Rena from speaking at the beggining bc it would be rude, but Rena had a crisis and then it was too late to stop it so she slapped her. Rena of course came back into her senses and realized what she had just did, wich she knows it's a taboo, that's why she just falls into silence and just pretend, she doesn't leave in her normal fashion tho', bc she's affected. And well Keiichi is an outsider who is just shocked so naturally she will follow who has control of the situation wich is Mion, and since he knows what he just provoked for asking about Satoshi he knew he better stayed silence. It's a pretty well crafted scene, all this kind of stuff is beautifully detailed in the novel
I remember being surprised at how quickly this scene came up when I was reading the Sound Novel. It usually wasn’t until the Watanagashi that things escalated and to have a scene with Rena freaking out over Oyashiro-sama this early was pretty shocking and exciting. Tatarigoroshi certainly didn’t betray the expectations this scene created.
I do believe Keeichi's Doppelganger-Story isn't really about the girls covering him. I think Keeichi remembering how he killed Satoko's uncle in a former cycle. His memories where mixed. That's because I think Satoko's uncle is still alive and Keeichi was with the girls the evening before.
Yuriko Suzushina Slapping her was better than laughing at her story and saying it as a lie or non existent. in VN Mion said that back then she laughed at Rena's Oyashiro-sama story and Rena got really mad.

No one tries to harm him at all during the first arc in the original (outside of Takano's plan, but he didn't know that). He was essentially hallucinated everything from Rena's screaming "liar" at him. He thought Rena tried to stalk him but she just followed him to make sure he's okay, there wasn't any shards in his food as well, and Mion and Rena tried to calm him down by a club's game, drawing on his face, he thought it was a syringe and beat them to death.
+Moyra Newton Shion is the one who is batsh!t over Satoshi......although if you want to get super technical, that would be Mion XP (by super technical, Mion/Shion are actually swapped individuals to begin with, the Shion we know was born "Mion", but had to change her name after the screw up where the wrong sibling got the Oni tatoo of their clan due to them swapping places)

I think both knew it was the right thing to do, Rena knew she had to stop because she was already sick with the dormant virus in her head, Mion had to make her come back to her to her senses otherwise Keiichi wouldn't understand correctly the situation about Satoshi.
I quite frankly I do not like this series, There are too many intrigues, There are too many dramas and there's too much gore and creepy scenes. No frankly I hate this series.

Assuming you've watched this arc in full, in the visual novel, other than this scene, she was only comparatively more aggressive to Keiichi than the other ones where she's normal but in this arc, she's never the antagonist, just that friend who talks crazy and looks insane when agitated.
