The three-row SUV is powered by an all-new 2.4-liter BOXER engine that uses a combination of direct fuel injection, high compression (10.6:1), Subaru Dual Active Valve Control System (DAVCS), a twin-scroll turbocharger and an intercooler to achieve outstanding performance and high efficiency. The engine produces 260 horsepower at 5,600 rpm, accompanied by a broad torque curve that peaks at 277 lb.ft. over a 2,000-4,800-rpm engine speed range. All trim levels are paired with a high-torque Lineartronic CVT featuring an 8-speed manual mode function with steering wheel paddle shifters as well as X-Mode® with Hill Descent Control. This powertrain allows up to 5,000-lb. towing capacity, the most of any Subaru in history. Trailer Stability Assist helps to maintain vehicle stability while towing. The TSA system utilizes yaw sensors to monitor trailer sway and then can brake individual wheels to stabilize the vehicle and trailer. The Ascent is not only powerful but also efficient with exemplary fuel economy that provides more than a 500-mile range on a single tank.

Best video I have seen yet on the Subaru Ascent! Thank you. I hope you do another one on the 2020 and 2021 Ascent limited, and differences.
I'm a little surprised that on the top of the line trim level you don't get a choice of interior colors or type of seats. I would use this vehicle for sleeping while camping and the captain's chairs don't fold very flat. I would rather have the bench seats.

I believe all Subaru vehicles come with CD player which is nice, I still have plenty of CDs that I would like to play. Even 2020 Outback do still come with CD player, because of the large touch screen, they put the CD player in the center console.

The first time I saw your little pointer I was shook lol
Got a limited edition almost about a month ago, so far I put about 825miles and my mpg was terrible. Been getting about 13-14 mpg. Took it back to subaru to get it inspected. They said nothing was wrong and to drive it less aggressive. Been driving it like a grandma since and mpg went up to 16mpg. Very disappointed, but will wait until I hit 5k and see if it gets better if not I’ll have to get rid off it.
So you had to re-fill the gas tank 4 times in the first 825 miles?
Yes. I was freaking out. Really hoping it gets better. Dealership kept saying I have to break in the engine a little more. Just have to wait and see.

10Feb2019. Really appreciate that underside shot you did. That answered allot of my questions about the underlying issues. An most likely sold a 2019 Outback Touring 3.6 to myself. You're the first to show that n I can't be alone with that analogy per se.
I got to be able to tow a custom Hobie PA14 fishing nighttime rig. An yes that's awesome, I can go anywhere with my Yak.
Good video sir. Its going to be a hard decision between this touring sub vs a Caddy XT4 n a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. The Subaru is the most bang for the buck imho.
Subaru please fix the backseat issues from not folding flat. That may be a issue with my decision.

Took the new Ascent for a test drive ; love the way it steered; the power was plenty adequate, here comes the but, I really didn't like the very small forward looking camera, very difficult to see it, it is way too small, and a lot of the gauges associated with the camera were very small and difficult to see from the drivers position, and with the vehicle of this size why on earth did they not give you self parallel parking feature; fix those two items I'll buy one in a minute

The window sticker is shown at the end of the video for the MSRP breakdown. The clip is used for paper or a card... like a shopping list, parking pass, or envelope. I use it for my registration.
The only thing I hate is the road runner horn I mean they could have changed the road runner horn to a trumpet horn

Mike my neighbor just leased a new Subaru ascent touring but in black with saddle brown leather interior it’s such a nice car inside and it has alot of room my neighbor who bought it is also helping me restore my 1962 Plymouth savoy max wedge his ascent has been to the junkyard about three times to pick up two bumpers those fit in the back without folding down anyseats it has carried a set of wheels and tires and it even carried an engine in the trunk so please reply to my comment as i was the first one and buy the way i will rent a 2018 Ford Mustang convertible i will post a video.

It's actually a good value compared to BMW X5 & Audi Q7. Similar dimensions and features as the German brands, but the Ascent runs on regular gas, has the technology, very comfortable, is the IIHS Top Safety Pick, projected 5 year cost of ownership is a bargain compared to the German. I don't need the "Luxury Brand" to prove something I'm not. Check out this month's Consumer Reports Magazine. The Ascent is on the front cover and has the highest rating in its class.
Fuel economy is 16-18 mpg. Might as well go with a V8 SUV!

Why is everyone always reviewing top trims ? They sell barely 10% of them. Majority of people buy lower and mid trims.
Subaru take note. Don't make a car that looks like a cheap Ford. I was confused if it was a Ford the other day until I got closer

There is a camera in the front and it has LED headlights. Not sure what wrong info you are referring to.
@@MikesCarInfo my apologies. You are correct. I missed the fact that you are testing the Touring model. Other models have halogen. Reg the cam. It's really not designed for "offroad" because I believe they timeout like after 20 sec or so.. great for wife parking in the garage. Anyway my mistake.

First of all, it's not the 90s. It's a 2019 family crossover, what do you expect. And people buy these types of vehicles because they are made for families that want a safe car to get them to point A to point B.
Austin Correct however, people don’t like the highest trims. In fact most cars are bought by base models.
Didn't u look at other vehixles too at this moment.They are all coming with good tech. Especially Pro pilot in lower end Nissan vehicles is too good.uhh.Not omitting CD player in ascent is also unique and too good too
