I personally like more subtle ambient lighting. The German cars overdo it in my eyes. I do agree the lighting on the center console should be much better. But we know Nissan/Infiniti is still in an uphill battle financially and they had to cut costs somewhere while still delivering good feature content. They could have cut costs in worse ways. In a pinch you'd just have to turn on the overhead lights. Headlights look fine to me, but I do drive a 2013 so LEDs looks super bright to me no matter what. I do notice it's missing the adaptive headlights that the QX60 has... but I feel like those don't have much benefit.

Nissan is so broke from low sales that I’m surprised they made the QX80 as nice as it is. They’re trying so hard to fix their reputation but they have so much against them. I’m not surprised that they’re asking for a pretty penny for the new QX80, they’re trying to get their money back

Because of the great video Mike, I noticed:
-little ambient lighting at the center console area and cup holders (either from the overhead down or within the compartments
    - no adaptive headlight system or even swerving with the wheel
    - no cornering lights as with cars in the same class
    - no fog lights.
    - no puddle lights under the doors.
    - no lights in the rear floorboard! Looks dark. Or center box. Glove box has a traditional yellow light?
    - no sequential turn signals (not sure if it's still a regulation issue)
Surprisingly, some were offered in the previous model.
    Thanks for the amazing review

I think the lighting looks just right. But the lighting issue could be subjective. But you do need good lighting. Nodoubt there. But still, the QX80 has knocked it out of the park with this total refresh. They've addressed all the issues the previous generation missed. The new king of SUV'S here!!!

Your night videos set you apart from most other reviewers. Keep up the good work. I too am surprised at the lack of brightness levels in the interiors lighting as well as the lackluster quality of the headlights for a $100K+ vehicle. I think they think most well healed soccer moms probably wouldn't notice.

I'm actually not offended by the price..... There is no luxury full size suv on the market under 100k......
Even the non luxury brands come very close to 100k (expeditions, sequoias, Tahoes) ... (Top of the line)
It's a good looking truck with lots of features, lots of safety and that Japanese engine might last you forever.......

3.5V6 turbocharged engine 450HP 516 Ft lbs of torque. 64 colour ambient lighting. Air suspension. Flush mount pop out door handles. Huge digital dash and infotainment screen. Heated, cooled and massaging second row captain chairs. First ever Klipsch 24 speaker sound system to be put into a vehicle (any audiophile knows Klipsch, equivalent or better than Harmon Kardon, Bang and Olufsen, Bose of course, Bowers and Wilkins etc) oh and Biometric heating/cooling which uses infrared sensors to monitor body temperatures to control the HVAC and seating controls ? Insane.
Infiniti invented the first ever Birds Eye view or 360 degree camera and it was on the 2008 EX35…. They have the technology, obviously in terms of Tech and engines . This new engine is dubbed the VR35DDTT which is apart of the VR engine family which includes the VR38DDTT from the glorious Nissan GTR performance car. If I win the lottery I’m buying one before anyone vehicle

A lot of popular reviewers are given all-expense-paid trips around the world by the manufacturers to go to their press events. They sleep in $1000 a night hotels and get buttered up the whole time. After receiving $5,000 - $10,000+ worth of benefits, It is unlikely this has no effect of the "review" videos they make :)
