Max was just racing hard as he always does .. he has dominated the whole weekend .. was on course for a comfortable win and the pit stop let him down. Lando & Mclaren were just complaining the entire race. Their track limit penalty should have been handed out earlier.
Snitching and complaining are normal in F1. Lando was complaining about an unsafe release by Max, Lando was complaining about Max moving under braking. Max was complaining about Lando dive bombing, Max was complaining about how little grip he had in his second and third stint, and Max was complaining about the Haas drivers who were in his gearbox just before his third stint. Lando and Max were both complaining the entire race, so why do you feel the need to point out that Lando & McLaren were complaining the whole race, when in fact, Max was doing the exact same thing?
The pit stop let him down yes. What ALSO let him down is not having a set of new medium tires. He could have easily had one had the team kept him in the pit in one of the medium tire q sessions, he had plenty of time to spare to do so.

I think Lando is driving with a lot of passion and emotion. A bit like Max when he wanted to beat Lewis. Lando knows he has the car right now and wanted to force passing Max. It was on the edge but in my opinion also over the edge with dive bombs and not keeping it on track, pushing Max wide completely off track. Like was that a cars width Lando? Then with all frustration and emotion saying that if Max doesn’t say it is his fault their friendship is over because of a racing incident is just showing all these emotions and frustrations. Lando also needs to look back at the whole fight and admit it wasn’t all that fair and respectful. If Lando can’t control his emotions and frustrations we will see way more incidents like this.
I agree that Lando is way too emotional, and I also found it funny how Lando threatened to cut off his relationship with Max if Max wouldn't apologize. I mean, does Lando really think that Max cares that much about their relationship? Max is there to win races, not to make friends and be nice.
On the other hand, dive-bombing isn't prohibited or illegal, so Lando is allowed to do that. As long as you don't go off the track yourself, there's no problem with dive-bombing (depending on how far along the car you're trying to overtake is at the apex of the corner). Max did the same move on Charles in 2019 in the same corner. Max also pushed Charles off the track that time around, so why is Lando not allowed to do the same? Max has done a lot of dive-bombing himself in his career before 2022, so I find it funny that he's the one complaining now. Remember that infamous dive-bomb on the first lap of Abu Dhabi 2021 which Max did on Lewis? Everything that Lando was doing to Max this race, Max has also done to Lewis. Lewis raced the same way when he was at McLaren. Vettel also used to race the same way. Senna and Schumacher also. Dive-bombing and aggressive racing have always been a part of the sport, and that will never change...

The incident in that corner many cars touched but because of the collision Max was punished. For example when Checo dive bombed and miraculously didn’t hit Max. I mean, what are the odds that two drivers end up with a deflated tire upon contact? It feels like it was their destiny that they would end up in this position if you will. The contact wasn't even that hard, it just happened in the most unfortunate way possible.

Still focused on winning but his reactions are way more well thought. Lando has to stay calm and chose hustle moments more wisely. Max will defend corners really well. People forget that the curb is part of the track, so Norris had plenty of room to his left to avoid collission. The car on the inside has free choise of line, as long as he doesn't push the other car off track.

We've all had more time to look at stuff. What Max did in that turn is not unlike what happens there every single race. What is bizarre is actually that Norris doesn't react to the squeeze, in what can almost be characterized as maliciously allowing the collision to happen. From the onboards it is clear to me that Max didn't even know Norris was to his left, his head snapped quickly to the left as soon as he realized, so that is Max's error, still, perhaps Norris took this to mean that Max was deliberately turning on him, when he was in fact just getting ready for his rotation into the turn.
The same squeeze that Norris did in Spain when pushing Max on the grass, but then Lando calls it hard racing.

You always save yourself from a collision. I sometimes see this on the actual road, where people get in to collisions, when they have al the space to escape to. It’s like obeying the rules from the government or fia, like it’s some god giving rule.

I'm a huge Lando fan, but I did sense a little desperation in moments. Same as with Max in his defense. They both made questionable moves, it just so happens one of Max's moves cost them both the race. Could have just as easily been Lando doing so on one of his dives inside. People have to remember, its much easier to judge from the other side of a monitor or tv screen. These guys are doing something most of us could never handle in these cars. It was exciting for sure, and yea technically it was Max's move that ended things, but as a Lando fan I don't hate the guy for it. Its exciting for the sport, and for the fans. Side note, though the fan rivalry can be fun and passionate, it still should remain respectful the same as everyone is griping it should be with the drivers and how they drive. Doesn't really make sense to be disrespectful towards others in a debate about which driver was more "disrespectful" in the race ya know. Looking forward to next weekend for sure. Hope to see more tight battles there as well.

@@abdullahamir626 Moving under breaking was Lando's complaint. It was NOT reality. Max drove defensive V corners allowing him to break MUCH later (half the distance) because of that any moves happened BEFORE breaking.

They both crossed the border, Lando over the track borders and then also the do or die actions in the braking zones and Max as it looks, because was that really a change of direction during the braking phase? Wasn't Max's braking phase just in a straight line, a line that followed Lando's line, but that should be allowed, right?! If Lando had not violated the track boundaries, would he have ended up so close to Max in the first place?!
Anywho, Lando is not blameless, and Max is probably secretly not completely innocent either, but the FIA is the main culprit and they still don't have their affairs in order.
The track must have natural boundaries that should never provide an advantage if you exceed them, and well then this could never have happened if they have those things in order.
Racing should be done on the track and off the track you should never be able to have an advantage and then have to go off or have to slow down/be slowed down a lot and suffer damage, etc.
Well, just not effective, it is not good enough FIA, and so you are still completely wrong. And those racers have to make do with your incompetence, which is why this can happen.

I love the delusion of Verstappen's fans, he drove into a car driving 100% straight line on the outside, and of course it cannot be Max's fault. I don't care about previous laps where Lando was divebombing in a poor and dangerous way, but the final crash separated from the rest was fully Verstappen's fault, clearly not a huge mistake but huge consequences. How can someone say he left eneough space when he literally drove into Norris, I don't get that, maybe ppl like you are blind or smth.

I just don't get all the fuzz. On Lando's onboard, just can clearly see him more or less loosing control and bolts into Max's left side. He hit him with his right wheel just in front of Max's rear left wheel. I mean really...
Lando can jump start with no penalty on races, he can dive bomb on multiple corners and have multiple track limit violations in this race.
I'm a fan of both drivers and I'd be happy if max said sorry and accepted the blame and we move on. I like wheel to wheel racing and sometimes that creates a wee kiss.

Sorry you didn't. I am a hardcore Redbull follower. Blaming the team strategy is wrong. You were wrong. Max should have given the place and fight to regain. Plain and simple.
Max would not even have had to fight. Lando was for certain getting a 5s penalty for exceeding track limits after being shown the black and white flag. Max should have let Lando pass him, and then all Max would have had to do is keep up with Lando, which would have been easy with DRS. Max would have finished P2 on track but would have won the race. The stewards should have assessed Lando's penalty sooner so the drivers have all the information they need to make strategic decisions.
I think all this case has been overblown by FIA and the press.
I mean, these are F1 very talented pilots who are battling for a win.
Sometimes overtakes are clean, sometimes they end up like yesterday.
Granted that safety should never be jeopardized, in yesterday battle between Max and Lando I did not see any "dangerous" move.
They were both extremely aggressive and determined, surely being borderline on the rules of engagement.
But, having said that, if we take away from racing also the moves and moments like yesterday, it won't be worth anymore to watch.
The duel between VIlleneuve and Arnoux is still one of the most epic moments of F1, 50 years after.
Or, the epic (and very "unfair") duels between Senna and Prost.
Racing is also this.

Fact is Max didn’t turn the corner and a collision was the only possibility. Why is the question, hard racing isn’t an excuse to wreck a race car of an opponent. That is done in NASCAR.
Easy to give comments if you end up getting more points than your rival. Max is one ugly driver that givea no respect to others. Some day he wilö learn thw hard way

Buddy do you not even consider that Max was desperate to keep Lando behind. With Max it is a win at all costs even if it means being unsportsmanlike.it was more his fault than Lando a it seems most people except Max fans agree.
