- If you drive a Lexus F car, the RR racing intake setup is a MUST. Retains factory MAF housing, shields the intake from hot air, and deletes the crank case breathers from the intake tube!

Good vid. I did the RR racing heat shield and did the Tom's carbon intake tube to keep the factory look.
I couldn’t justify the $600 price tag for an intake tube. I definitely gave the Tom’s a hard look though
@SEsGarage yeah I was lucky to get mines at half price.
Great video.
Dude that is awesome! I want to do this to my IS F so bad but it costs like 10k & I’m too poor for that 😂
How much it cost you? Any dyno #’s?
This is just the intake kit! I wish it was their supercharger😂
Wonder why RR Racing removed the 2 crankcase ports on top of the air intake elbow. Based on your explanation in your video their intake design could trigger some lean codes.
I also could not justify the Over priced Toms Cold Air Intake so just bought yesterday the RR Racing Cold Air Intake with Heat Shield. In my opinion all you need is the Heat Shield for the Small Performance Increase but bought the whole kit primarily for looks since such a small performance gain.
I had concerns with lean codes as well and brought them up to their attention! Technically opening the breather hoses to atmosphere is allowing unmetered air into the engine when that PCV valve opens. They assured me they’ve been running this kit and similar on the ISF for years with no issues. For what it’s worth, I plugged in my scanner and drove the car while monitoring short term and long-term trims and they stayed within a reasonable margin. +-10% give or take. And I haven’t had any lean codes as of yet. It’s definitely something I’m keeping an eye on
I guess the question now since you had this setup for a while is any issues or check engine lights related to this Cold Air Intake Mod?
Did the heatshield Yield any performance gains?
Admittedly I never did a before and after dyno so I’m really not sure! It does look nice under the hood though 😂
I just installed the RR-Racing intake with a Tom's high flow filter and the heat shield. In normal driving mode, do you still hear your secondary intake open up around 3500rpm or does installing this eliminates that sound?
Yes I can still hear it clearly
@@SEsGarage I am trying to figure out why I'm not hearing mine
@@NiceGuyCurry check your vacuum tubes and nipples on the solenoid and under the heat-shield. Failsafe is in the open position so worse case it’ll be open all the time. It applies vacuum when it wants it closed and removes vacuum when it wants it open
@@SEsGarage I will check it once I get home. Am I checking if the hoses are connected to the ripples on the solenoid and down by the intake box? May I ask how can I check to see if the solenoid is working itself?
I figured out what the issue was. I had the vacuum hoses on the solenoid on wrong which was preventing the flap from opening at all. She is all set and good to go now and thank you for your help and support and responses.
Can you install a throttle body spacer on this engine
If they made one, I wouldn’t. They don’t provide any performance gains
@@SEsGarage got it ty
The RR intake kit silence the high factory Yamaha doe shuts. It suxxx I took mines off and reinstall my factory intake which is better
I can still clearly hear the intake bypass open up around 3500. Are you sure you extended the vacuum lines correctly?
