- Your favorite mechanic, Edd China from Wheeler Dealers, is back with what we hope will be a new program series. In Edd China’s Garage Revival, Edd will work with car owners, whose restoration projects have got the better of them, to get their plans back on track. In this pilot episode, Edd travels to Norway to get a Golf MK1 GTI back where it belongs - on the road.

Edd always was the real star of Wheeler Dealers.
There was someone else on that show?
Paul :) And later Phil too
Well done, Edd!
and Kit Cars magazine)))
This is just what I needed... It's like wheeler dealers with out all the bullshit. Just Edd sorting a car out with some traveling. brilliant program. Really hope it takes off. You deserve it Edd!
Wayne yeah, whitouth al the talk about money, budget, profit and that outher guy runnung around
100% agreed, wheeler dealers without Edd is like top gear without May/Clarkson/Hammond, its not the same!
Agree. Still has the staged "Oh, you're here - I didn't notice the camera pointing at me" greetings though. Don't know why but they really wind me up! See 3:31
I agree dude. It would have been equally exciting if there was a camera crew at his home, documenting how stoked he was while waiting for Edd to arrive. We don't need the typical TV fake suspense.
@Nicholas Barnes He's not looking at the camera because Edd is simply taking in the size of the building - it's huge! This is "telling a part of the story" as any good film will do.
It's a real shame this never got picked up, i wish Edd had got a car show on tv by now, i really miss his style of work.
I agree, I was really looking for more episodes of Edd finding and fixing old goodies.
Perhaps they got tired of ads every 5 bastard minutes

Jan 2024 just found this, Ed finally doing what he does best, nice to see other private workshops and Ed helping ordinary folk.. Happy new year everybody.
When Edd parted ways with Wheeler Dealers (WD's) he said in a YT video on his own channel that his leaving was because the revamped version of WD's wasn't going in a direction he felt comfy with but wished the show, Mike and the mechanic replacing him all the best, a gentleman at his best. Edd also said he hoped to do a show that was more about the mechanics and less about the (money/politics/commercial) business aspects of mechanics. Edd, you and your production team have in episode one delivered completely, delivering what many of us had hoped we would see with you as the host. In this episode we saw what could be done in a less than equipped work shop, you got to show us many hints and tips, the trouble you went to ensuring the vehicle was legal in the owners country, it was a delight to see you helping others out with your skills when matters in their own life's have taken more time than they could dedicate to their projects. Well done everyone... I'm thrilled to see that what you wanted has made it into production, and good luck to all with the future episodes.
Thoroughly enjoyed this episode, l agree with all of the above. Wishing you all, every future success. Feel lucky to have found you.
American TV executives take note. This is why we used to love Wheeler Dealers. It's not "too hard to film" or "not engaging enough", some of us find the intricacies of installing a complicated headlining interesting. Edd, you know your fanbase and keep up the excellent work.
If it's picked up by US-based execs, it's bound to go down the same road as Wheeler Dealers; let good things European stay European, I say...
We US based fans want Edd and we will take any means necessary to get him and keep him LOL. Seriously we WILL
Johnno_Oz That was not the issue (at least according to the producers.) The show was costing too much for Velocity's taste, so they decided to cheapen the show. Edd didn't want to make a cheaper show because he felt the quality of the product would slide, so he quit.
Johnno_Oz Well said that man!
This got recommended to me 2 years late, this is so great! I went to the channel hoping for episode 2... I'm sad now

THE only reason I was wathcing Weeler Dealers back in the day was this guy!!! Glad to see him back!
Yeah lol I used to fast forward past the bits with Mike. Each episode was 20 minutes of Edd for me
@@kaitlyn__L this show has been axed ages ago due to poor views
Oh, not because of the annoying, arrogant, fake salesman? ;-)
ruclips.net/channel/UCTnK3UFznEB5bd4vDEFMM4A
Hard to chose the best bit.
1. Edd’s back.
2. Proper technical content.
3. Mk1 Golf.
4. A Norwegian giving a car some stick in the snow.
5. No hand holding...
This deserves to be given a network series.
6. No Mike
Welcome back, Edd. You were the best reason to watch Wheeler Dealers, and now we get just you for a full 40 minutes. Happy days!
Come back to us Edd! Luv your style, no fuss and no job too hard. You could mentor a whole generation of restorers.
ruclips.net/channel/UCTnK3UFznEB5bd4vDEFMM4A
Edd you were the reason most of us use to watch the show, now we can fulfill our need for quantity auto repairs.
I absolutely agree. Mike never contributed anything to the show, in my opinion. I want more episodes from you Edd!!
That's better, A proper car show aimed at cars we actually want to see and fix.
Send Edd a distress video Martin and he might come help you finish that Acclaim, oh wait he did say somewhere warmer next time haha.
Nice surprise , nice one Ed
I am finishing that after the Trotter van videos so its all in hand bud.
Edd is back.... Not every superhero wears a cape, some wears orange elbow long nitrile gloves!
I have watched this episode 3 times now over the past 2 years. I really wish it had become a series.
Edd was the main reason which attracted me to wheeler dealers .When Edd left,so did I.Hope he comes back on UK tv soon
same well said
This is what people want. Its the detailed information that is entertaining.
I agree, not the BS drama.
Makes you realise just how pointless Mike Brewer was in Wheeler Dealers. He was five minutes of background noise who shook someone's hand at the end of the show. Great to see Edd back!
If I read Edd right; he is happiest when people let bygones be bygones. It is because he is a classy dude.
Mike Brewer did bring something to the show though, at least in the early years. There was lots of tips on where to look for cars, and what to look for when buying them.
Things sort of went pear-shaped when the cars got more and more expensive, and we saw less and less real tinkering. Outsourcing is all well and good, but we want to see Edd work his magic :D
Why did this get recommended to me after three years.. I have fond memories watching Wheeler Dealers back in the day and watching Edd fixing cars with pure passion..
ruclips.net/channel/UCTnK3UFznEB5bd4vDEFMM4A
Ur a natural teacher Edd. The way u explain things , the important tips/techniques.... THOSE NECESSARY BITS u cover. U give us simple people the ability to DO what we thought we couldn't.
Other shows omit the difficult parts and continue pretending that anyone could do it.
I do hope we fans will be hearing more from you
Re-watching it, so Edd gets his views back.
absolutely - did the same👍🏼
yea second time for me too
Edd.. all I can say is... was like u never been away... great start to your new channel. We with u all the way!! 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Clique53 Absolutely this is great
I'll be watching 🇬🇧
100% Guys!
I am with you too. Great work Ed!!!
Only now it really does feel like he has been away....
Likeable host with mad skills and no network picked it up. The world needs more Edd.
This is such a great program. The owners face when he’s driving his car for the first tome is priceless
The orange hand man is back! Thank you!!!
Welcome back Edd, a great show. Kind regards, Richard
At last a proper car show where you don’t have the obligatory “we’ve got 2 hrs left to finish it, I don’t know if we are going to make it” shit. Well done Ed, good to see you back!
Simod Thebod I think that deadline stuff is just manufactured drama to create, well drama. It has grown extremely tiresome, however. Thus is why I lost interest in most of those Dicovery channel car shows.
Jelsick exactly mate. Can’t stand all that fake drama stuff. Let the skills do the talking! 👍🏽
This is the best episode of the series.
Lol! Very estute 😂
This was so good! Still can’t believe WD went in a different direction and why they would change the format. 75% of the show was all about Ed in the garage showing us top tips and how things work. Absolutely love WD but can’t watch a single episode now Ed’s not in the show. I really hope more of these will be made one day! Thank you Ed your a legend !
ruclips.net/channel/UCTnK3UFznEB5bd4vDEFMM4A
Ed is absolutely fantastic. I watched WD since the start. LONG LIVE ED, YOU ARE A LEGEND IN MY VIEW.
Yes Ed’s back .....enuff said
This show feels like what made Wheeler Dealers so great before it went all Hollywood.
TheDutyPaid Very true...Mike “Hollywood Brewer” went to America and filled his belly full of pancakes and his head full of shite.
Couldn't agree more. Reminds me over the first 4 or 5 Series of Wheeler Dealers with all the 'hands on' mechanical 'how to's' ... Edd's charm & knowledge can easily carry a show without the 'selling' part ... well done Edd ...
Egg-frikkin-zaktly
Yup, that's why I stopped watching it.
I loved Wheeler Dealer.. I thought Mike & Ed had a good combo / perspectives but as Ed has said direction of show and Ed were not aligned. It is best Ed went a direction he was happy with and Mike go in a direction he was happy with. Appears no hard feelings either way. And we get to experience both now..
OMG! My comment is pointless, really! I can’t believe how long it took to catch up with Edd. Thrilled now! Thank you!
Finally Edd is back! Brrrrrrravissimo!
how does it feel to almost be at 100k subs on just a pilot episode and teaser video? Edd i would be extremely proud of what you done so far sir. As a bonus I think were all so glad to have you back on the digital air waves.
Edd how do we contribute to your shows success? Can I Subscribe$$ to a certain number of RUclips Episodes? Or are you taking contributions through CrowdFund or Kickstarter?
Al
I got the feeling there was more time for tinkering and less dealing. Normally there would be some trading and whatnot, instead: «these parts are standard and easy to come by; lets start putting them on the car.»; which was very refreshing. Because, lets be honest, we want to see parts being swapped, tools being used and stuff being easily explained.
Good to see your back Ed watching from Scotland
Edd when a car makes you smile like this you know it's fantastic, what a great job thanks for sharing it
I've never subscribed to a RUclips channel so fast.
Hopefully Amazon or someone else picks this up to give it the financial backing it needs for more episodes.
Loved this format...not made for TV drama just working on a car!
Hope Edd continues ,always enjoyed how he explained the parts and to fix them.
No purchase, no sale ... no dead weight! Somebody please buy and produce this show!
Thx, we are working hard to make this happens!
@@Rentarage great, delighted to hear that.
I couldn’t thrash away at the subscribe button quick enough!!
ihatesissycars I'm with you on that shared x32 times
The new show is just what I was expecting from Edd, and the very thing that's missing from the 'new' Wheeler Dealers. The full detailed explanations, along with Edd's famous insider tips about tools, parts and all things automotive. There's also that added bonus of his vocal quality which is welcome at my house any time! Like having a lifelong friend drop by to help sort things out right when it's needed. Edd IS cool! Welcome back!
We miss you Edd, please come back with some sort of tv series!! Your knowledge and advice will always be in great demand as the work you do is simply MAGIC!!!!
Great to see you back where you belong, you are the best hands on mechanic Wheeler dealers ever had, get busy making more fans. Cheers, Steve UK
Great to see a program focussed on the practical aspect of working on the mechanics and helping someone get an abandoned project back on the road. I'm not going to knock Mike B or the Wheeler Dealers format; they both have their place, but I much prefer this sort of format where there is more detail of how things are done, and less attention to the light entertainment aspect. I hope this pilot leads to many more similar episodes.
Agreed. The early seasons of Wheeler Dealers was fantastic, just got off track in the latest season(s).
Absolutely. Well said
People in corporate studios pay attention... this is why people watched wheeler dealers.. FOR Mr China .. his methodical an down to earth manner.. the big man is quality.. I could watch Edd fix cars all day.. great show sir.
There's no one going to disagree with that ! This feels like Wheeler Dealers updated.
Indeed, all this needs is an editor to cut all the reality TV bits and make it a relaxing build video.
this is why I love the internet, good shows not molested by some behind the scene arsehole making the decisions, pay attention TV, you are dead
@Lord Rupert Excelent! :D
@Lord Rupert and there will be a holocaust victim behind the back seat ....an oppressed woman weeping ....and an undersized youth in hiding because he didn't make the football teams!
This is much better Edd. Very good watching.
He shows the viewer, exactly how it's done. Makes the show so interesting!
Edd was always 85% of Wheeler Dealers and Brewer knew it. If you look around on RUclips you can see Brewer mouthing off about Edd. It's not nice and not what you expect from a fully functioning adult. Fingers crossed this gets big for Edd. It does need some advertising though as I nearly missed it.
Yes, I agree - I certainly hope they do come up with a sizeable advertisement budget. I think they will only need it for the first few months, after that it will take off like an airplane!
Brewer = cockney snake oil salesman. . He just needed the hat, jacket & badges.
You are so right.... Never really understood the appeal of the Mike Brewer part of wheeler dealers, always seemed heavily scripted and fake. He came across as a not really very likeable shady car dealer. Which is what he is i suppose
Genuinely had a smile on my face at the end. Good to see you back.
Me 2 great to have Edd back
This needs to be a show. Are you listening tv people???. Get Edd on the blower. Make it happen!
Cool Edd, I love how it's so candid and authentic. Hope things get sorted out with more shows!
So glad to see Edd back in action. That headliner job is a perfect example of why Edd's instruction is so beneficial: When you look at a headliner installation job, it is so easy to become overwhelmed. But, when Edd just lays it out step by step, it all becomes so less daunting.
Keep up the good work Edd! I hope to see many more episodes!
did you see the result then?..it had wrinkles all over..
That's also why he's not syndicated. They don't want someone to give step by step instructions. They want to gloss over a project, show a detail here and there and get some shots with sparks flying from a grinder. That way the viewers are interested enough to spend some cash and haven't learned much. That's the reason Ed left WD..
I was watching Car SOS from tv a couple of weeks ago and thought the format of restoring a real enthusiast’s car instead of flipping them would suit Edd perfectly. Seems like I wasnt the only one to think that! Love from Finland
This format is amazing, no buying / selling rubbish. The owner cares about the project and Edd can help in the usual informative and educational way. All the best bits!
Edd, you are the man, love this stuff, and so nice to see you relaxed and comfortable, this is it!!
Everything is right in the universe again. He is back and working on a VW!!!!
Edd, you are the man. This is everything I always loved about WD, you turnin' wrenches! Looking forward to future episodes!
Thank you!
Confere21vídeo. Bebe mamando.
Eddie, you're always an absolute pleasure to watch! Just love this, and it's my favorite car!
Your charm and expertise is so refreshing.
I was so hoping we never saw the end of you... You're too unique!
God bless you good sir. ❤👍💪
Love seeing edd back and helping people again. Thanks for the great video
OK. I'm liking this format, where, rather than buying and flipping a car, you are restoring someone's beloved project to life. Huge thumb's up! :-)
This is the beginning of a new era of GOOD car related programs. Maybe besides Car S.O.S..
I just made a comment on barn find hunters newest vid that his show and skid factory were the only real car shows anymore. This is another on my list. Reminds me of old school car shows before all the reality BS
Swordie100 roadkill -_-
Hey! Why the face! You're right, roadkill/MCM/skid factory/barn find hunters are pretty good too! But of those I think only SF and BFH have a "real" production team and it still is down to earth. :)
notformebeaky roadkill is way better than any car show on TV.
It's actually funny.
Wheeler dealers and Car SoS have a few things in common. they both get stuff back on the road, they both have great mechs, sadly they both have knobheads that take up valuable viewing time.
Absolutely love this, this is what everyone wants to watch. This is good enough for prime time TV. Hope your well Ed.
Ed, a massive congrats and well done to you! I've been missing an intellectual and experienced hand from the automotive industry in tv entertainment. I remember you from long ago before WD and it always stuck in my mind how humble and competent you were. I was only a child in the late nineties/early noughties and you were an absolute inspiration to me. Now been in the trade for some time both car and motorcycle i'm now in education and it's probably somewhat thanks to you and your unique character. Keep up the good work, and try to reach as many audiences as possible, the world would be better off for it. All the best, James
Yes! It feels like coming home. Absolute pleasure to see Edd doing own show. All is well with the world again. As another comment said, instant subscription. Edd, my best wishes for you and your new endeavors.
The first time I'm happy to find something "made in China"! :)
Martin M noooo! Pero esa es mucho mejor! 😁
Maiden China.
Welcome back Edd! WOW, I just found this today, it’s a fantastic show! I’m a little sad there isn’t a second episode and series.
Wow this got me smiling at the end when you both went for a drive. Thanks Edd loved the show
i wish to see many more episode to the series!!
Yes I have just finished watching it and I am already craving for more! Well I will watch it back again.
YOU NEED TO ADVERTISE THIS SHOW MORE!!! I found it by accident although i followed wheeler dealers for many years
Edd, it´s GREAT to see you back. You give to us your audience what we want: knowledge disguised as entertainment. See you working is a real pleasure. I´m happy to have found your channel. Your program was the reason I decided to restore vehicles as a hobby.
Only just found this, great concept and fantastic to see Edd back doing what he does best. Really hope it takes off, best of luck 👍👍👍
not sure what i like more.. China telling "crack on" or. he's being back.... ahh hell with it. ill take both (y)
but Edd. two things..... Why where the wheels powdercoated with curb rash? budget or somthing . funny also the rear disc conversion looks like a Mk3 kit :P or vw just kept it the same since the. rocco? >< got you learn so much from here :P
This is such a good idea for a program. Glad to see Edd back!
Agreed.
Too bad garage squad did it first
Great too see edd back on with all his expertise need to see more of him doing the car's up wish I had him as my mechanic. Keep up the great work edd 👍
Aww Ed, we've missed you ♥️ Loved this video, so happy to have you back on my telly 👍
Good to see the amount of views. Edd got shat on and I hope he does great now. We all know he was the best part of the show.
I'm a near 70 year old woman and I loved wheeler dealers for the way Edd tinkered with the cars etc. Glad to see he stuck to his principles and now has a new show without the annoying cheeky chappy nonsense
Wonderful so. Pleased. You will. be back on our TV...... ,!! I have. missed. You ..... ♥️♥️
Well edd just wanted to say great show its got a new feel to the show, but the point is you have kept as you wanted to show all us car freaks what we needed which is expert advice and completion of the work in full details, we are all learning from you many thanks Pete from Newark Notts, .
Great to see you back. Love the format. Love the fact there is much more workshop. Of a 40 minute show, 30 minutes in the workshop. Perfect!
38:50 When you said one last thing. I thought you was gonna pull up on his shirt and say "You've officially been pimped".
lol thats what i was thinking too
"You've officially been Edd'd"
Thankyou Ed, love your uncomplicated explanations. And you are the best.
I just find out that Edd is back. Thank you for all your teachings. Long live to Garage Revival!!. Greetings from Argentina
Great to see Edd back - and with all tech and no B.S. :)
Thanks for sharing Ed. Good job 👏 👍👍👍🙂
Nice to see him back on tv, Stephen.
We need this. This is what's missing on all these car shows. People in their own garages needing help on their personal projects without any drama.
Really nice to see Edd getting on with something he seems to enjoy.
Well done Ed, really good to see you back providing worthwhile and valuable workshop advice.
First time I have seen what you have been up to since leaving the other show. Must say it was a refreshing idea to be actually helping the client as it were. Looking forward to watching more :)
This is so great. Thank you, Edd!
Bloody fantastic! So good to see you doing what we all miss and love. You’ve stayed true to yourself and your fans. You Sir are back, good for you and good for all of us.
Love the show. I had a band in Chicago, a few years ago, called "Where's Ed?" Hah! Love the shirt!
fantastic...we'll never get tired of GTI!!
Fantastic nice to see edd back in front off camera and head dived into engine where he belongs keep it up 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Excellent! I grew up watching Wheeler Dealers but never liked the sales guy much. This formula is just great. :)
i have the same opinion, i watched also Wheeler dealers A LOT. but never liked mike that much, but edd on the other hand. he is great :) and a very good mechanic
how can you not like Mike? I think he is a great contribution as another person!
Alexander
Everything Mike said was cringeworthy nonsense. He always had to be touching the car when he was in the shop which was just infuriating. A brand new paint job sometimes and he's leaning on it and rubbing it, putting swirls in the paint.
It was fun to make fun of him, but that's about it. All the buying and selling shit was sooo painfully scripted. The 'buyers' walking around the car touching random parts like the mirrors and tires and pretending to check things was just the most embarrassingly fake thing I had ever seen. The prices were obviously agreed upon beforehand. They should have cut out the buying and selling part and put more emphasis on what they did to the car and research that went into restoring it. Then just give the final number of what they sold it for, rather than pretending to haggle.
mike was to much trying to be an american, as seen in the later wheeler dealers, he was to much ' over the top ' for my personal liking. while edd is 'down to earth ' while being realistic.
Yes indeed. I was always forwarding ahead to get to the Edd China's part. I think that eventually, Mike got jealous....
Now he has a decent enough mechanic but I don't care, Edd China was the one I wanted to see.
The way you explain things in layman's terms and take us through every step is really far away from the new wheeler dealer's mechanic, I guess that's Mikes's fault again.
Wow.. I love to see the smiles when all the hard work done..
Edd. You are special and we miss you. I can't watch the show anymore because it's not the same without you. I enjoyed watching you again. Thank you
Edd was THE reason I watched Wheeler Dealers, and why I don't watch the new show, it sux without him.
So true Mark
Mark Barboza i think Ant is a great Mechanic too, who is unnecessary is Mike, he do nothing.
completely agree with you, Mark. I don't care about how much Mike will earn with buying & selling cars... I like only to see how Edd work!!!
