I talk about my own coping strategies that I have delevoped over the years to hide all my aspergers symptoms. My special interest in emotional intelligence so I share tips and tricks and try to explain what is going on inside my aspergian mind.

Always kept myself busy so I didn't have to deal with feeling different and alone. Grew up knowing there was something different about me but made to feel stupid. Settled into believing I was stupid and that is why socializing is so hard for me. The doctor who finally diagnosed me said I was really good at hiding it. He told me I should stop and just be myself. Didn't really understand what he meant. After 5 years of knowing I'm autistic I'm finally getting it, thanks in part to videos like yours.
Watching these makes decades of feels flood out and I find it hard to breath but I'm getting better. A year ago I wouldn't even have been able to craft this comment. Thank you.

:) Actually... I LIKE autistic people. If I had a few around me... they would likely be the ones I would play Catan with or ask questions... or just joke with. Most people don't get my jokes anyway so it's worth a try. In fact... they may actually understand my jokes. Like when I said to someone "I don't drink dos equis..equipment... I HAVE dos equis." Equis is Spanish for the letter Ex and I have two divorces so... yeah. Plus ASD people tend to be the one who are honest and tell you like it is... no unreadable hints. And I don't have to guess what they want me to know if they can communicate it, though my son is struggling with that for the moment (just diagnosed today at 3 years old). I think people with ASD, are a gift. Thank God for all of you!

I was also diagnosed this year as an adult. Thank you. It's so hard to find adult support groups or even counseling in my area, so I've been feeling really alone lately. Hearing others who are going through the same thing makes me feel less alone.

Hi Paul, I've watched a few of your videos and they are fascinating :), so here I am, at the beginning which I should have done from the start ;D
I am NT and hope I can be accepted into this community because I am learning so much and appreciate all of it.
My twin sons and husband are on the spectrum and so I hope to convince at least one of them to start watching these videos. They need to connect with like minds because we've sort of been living in our own world for 25 years (so to speak) We are in a rural area of horse ranch retirees. It is beautiful here, but no one their age has ever lived here.
I homeschooled them from 6th grade through graduation and associate degrees. I hated the schools and the way they were treated, so I said, "enough" and off we went--
Lucky for me, (and their autism),they are bright and have been accepted into university. But for now, and other reasons we will hold off on moving forward.
    Thanks for listening,
Best to you and everyone. 💜

I have very recently been dating someone with Aspergers syndrome and he struggles so much. I don't have any sort of mental illness except for anxiety but I want to learn more about this so I can have some sort of insight and so I can learn how to build him up and be there for him. It's already a struggle for me, but I really don't want to leave someone just because of the struggles they face.

If the multiverse turns out to be the best explanation of the fundamental physical constants, it would not be the first time we have been flabbergasted by worlds beyond our noses. Our ancestors had to swallow the discovery of the Western Hemisphere, eight other planets, a hundred billion stars in our galaxy (many with planets), and a hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe. If reason contradicts intuition once again, so much the worse for intuition. Another advocate of the multiverse, Brian Greene, reminds us:
From a quaint, small, earth-centered universe to one filled with billions of galaxies, the journey has been both thrilling and humbling. We’ve been compelled to relinquish sacred belief in our own centrality, but with such cosmic demotion we’ve demonstrated the capacity of the human intellect to reach far beyond the confines of ordinary experience to reveal extraordinary truth.

It's a very salutary thing to realize that the rather dull universe in which most of us spend most of our time is not the only universe there is. I think it's healthy that people should have this experience.

I like your videos, I can relate to alot of it. I have felt different to many people, such as family, workmates etc. I feel more sensitive and feel like I notice more. I can be quite philosophical about things and feel things deeply. This is why I also believe I am a highly sensitive person. But I have a great sense of humour as well, so I can have a laugh. Keep up the videos, they have been helpful to me and I think every one on the spectrum should check out your videos.

I want to thank you for this and other videos. I am always amazed at how open and honest the younger generation of Aspies can be. I am in my fifties and was only diagnosed four years ago. I am in the process of starting a blog about my experiences but it will be an anonymous blog as most people who know me don't know about my diagnosis. The thought of coming out to the world as someone with ASD feels terrifying. I know that there are members of my family who would not be supportive to say the least. What has your experience of revealing your diagnosis been? Would you say that it has been predominantly positive?

Hi Paul, I've been watching your videos for many months. I am not, or may not autistic. But I think I probably a mother of an autistic young man who doesn't want to think he has anything to do with autism. To make it clear, he is definitely high functioning, Asperger's. But according to what I read and watched, I really think getting to know more about true self as autistic person can really help. Do you agree? Why do you get yourself to be diagnosed? What made you want to do this? I am thinking how to help my son to think about getting himself to have an assessment.

One day if I get diagnosed, I will staple my 3-year-old photo of cute little me looking wide and dead-eyed to a camera, to my diagnosis results. I cannot think of a better introduction to what has kept me separated from the other humans all these years ! One look at little me and you know something's wrong lol

You DO cover up Aspergers (now called Autism Level) well. I am so grateful for your videos. My oldest sister has level 1 autism and her WHOLE life is about covering up. She lies constantly. When I asked her why she lies constantly, she said "it makes things easier". Neurotypical people would NEVER agree with that. Getting caught in one lie would be humiliating. She is caught all the time but people just leave her and don't make a big deal about it because they know she won't be a close friend anyway. So they politely leave.

I'm 38 and just learned that I'm on the spectrum. I have no idea how this is even possible. It has become apparent lately that I am extremely frustrated over things I cannot control, and in my line of work I need to be more flexible. I'm also sensitive to loud noise even though I have played in bands for years. Its the soft noises in a quiet room that drive me up the wall. What does anyone recommend that I do now that I'm fairly certain I am an Aspie??? Any good references out there?

I see you still had the dreads when you made this video. I had kinda been under the impression that you'd done that before starting this channel.

Do you have any content on Palilalia? I have a brother who is 24 and I’m sure he is an aspie but my family does not agree. He has many indicators and Palilalia is one of them.

You mean echolalia? Never heard of Palilalia and Autism.

    • @tuesdaynyx2297

Aspergers from the Inside Palilalia is similar to echolalia , but instead of involuntary repeating words that you hear you repeat the words that you say and usually in a whisper.
Like... “How are you? *how are you*?”

Aspergers from the Inside there was a video about it on The Aspie World channel on unusual Asperger symptoms. I think it’s more of a rarity whereas echolalia is quite common.

@@tuesdaynyx2297 I've met hundreds of people on the spectrum and while I've met a few that mutter or whisper to themselves, it's never been 'involuntary' - it's just like talking to yourself and verbalising your train of thought. They might be socially oblivious, but saying words involuntarily sounds like tourette's or something. It's entirely possible that could be a co-occurring condition but I can't see how it's part of Autism at all.

Aspergers from the Inside sorry, I was simply quoting the internets definition of the term. As for my brother specifically he is simply unaware that he is repeating himself until I’ve pointed it out. I only recently became aware of palilalia in connection with autism (from it’s mention in a few Aspie subreddits and the RUclips video I mentioned). It seems most RUclips content on the subject is related to tourettes so I was just checking to see if you had content on it that might not be searchable. Thank you for your response and for the extra info on the topic. Cheers!

I "need" to know more about the spectrum. I feel I was on one area and moved to another. I have not found the right help.
