Stephanie I can't tell you how thrilled I was to find your video on the Nanaimo bars. These bars were something I discovered at a store bakery, it was instant love. I was desperate to find a recipe for these, no luck until I stumbled upon your videos. You've got a lot of terrific recipes including some very good basics. I also appreciate that you give both measurements, because of this I will be able to convert some recipes from other sites which are only given in the metric. I am so very glad I discovered your channel, please count me as another fan😁
Hi Stephanie, I am Shwetha from Colorado. Hope you are doing good. I am a huge fan of yours. Your baking has really inspired me in so many ways. I have tried so many of your recipes successfully. As your website name suggests, it’s truly ‘joy of baking’ with you. You’re a wonderful teacher. I consider you as my mentor and so I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Also my wish is to someday meet you and get your autograph. I can never really thank you enough !!
I actually thank u becoz I always wanted to do baking but failed many times...didn’t have the knowledge of baking in details....but whenever I read your recipes or see them it build a confidence that it’s not as tough as I thought....I thank u for the effort u put to share your knowledge with us...I m so grateful to u....I always hope the best for u....heartfelt thanks😊😍👌💕
Oh yum, that looks really good! I will definitely be making these bars. I really love that you always give alternatives, so thoughtful! Not everyone has the same shopping possibilities / equipment. Right when I was wondering what to do about graham crackers (can't get those where I live) you said "you can also use digestives". Brilliant!
Hi Stephanie, we made these yesterday and they are delicious. I amalgamated your recipe with a similar one and added peanut butter to the biscuit base as well. Me and my daughter love your channel!!
Wonderful recipe & demo, as usual! I have a method for using natural peanut butter. The stabilators in PB are usually trans fats or palm oils, which I don’t like. I buy natural peanut butter and natural almond butter. I pour off the oils from both jars, and mix them together in a large bowl. If they are stiff & dry, I add a bit of the almond oil. Then I fill old glass PB jars & store the extra in the ‘fridge. This works fine for recipes & toast.
Hi Stephanie these look wonderful , I love anything peanut butter and chocolate. I’d love to make these for my daughter as she will really love these also, thank you very much.
Big fan over here!!! Your recipes make my family so happy and me look so good!! Loved baking before and now I love it even more thanks to how good you are at explaining everything. I always recommend your channel and give you credit. Best regards from Chile!
Hi Stephanie, I am excited to tell you that I purchased a kitchen scales! So you accomplished something that neither Mary Berry nor Paul Hollywood could ( Great British Baking Show)! I have been much happier with my baking results with breads, muffins, cakes and all things baked! So thank you for your continued dedication to teaching us all about how to obtain good results. I have tried at least a dozen of your recipes and plan to make these peanut butter chocolate bars next! I am sure you have heard this thousands of times, but I love your videos , recipes and teaching techniques. Thank you and your husband for producing a quality video product and continuing to bring more scale-users into the fold! ☺️💕
Try adding a table spoon of dark hazel nut nougat to your ganache . It really improves the flavour composition Some chefs use Nutella but it has saturated fats inside ( not everybody's thing ). Anyways keep it up . I love watching your presentations
Thank you for this recipe, I made them and my grandchildren loved them. I love all your videos and I have tried just about all of your recipes and they are great.
Finally! I've been looking a long time for a chocolate peanut butter bar recipe similar to the one you presented in this video. I can't wait to try it out, thank you for uploading this nice introduction of what I think may end up being one of my favorite go to snacks!
I'm back! Just wanted to confirm that this recipe turned out great! Out of all the peanut-butter-bars that I've tried i haven't tasted one this good! 👍 10/10
Hi, Stephanie. Your chocolate peanut butter bars are simply the best. If there was a chocolate pie to be made, you will be celebrated around the world.
I have tried some of your recipes, they all turned out perfectly. I saw you have a dog and i have a shitzu daughter too. I wish if you can share some recipes for our fur buddies too.❤
Love your channel! Thank you for all the hard work you put into making your videos but most of all thank you for this recipe. I will be trying this very soon! Hope you have a great day!
Peanut butter stabilizers are trans fats - something to avoid, imho. I like to buy natural peanut butter and natural almond butter. I pour off the oil, then mix them together in a large bowl. If the nut butters seem dry, I mix in some of the almond oil. I put the nut butter in old glass peanut butter jars & store in the 'frig. This never separates on me, tastes great & is more healthful than big name peanut butters. I like your recipes and presentations very much!
Jello had a packaged product similar to this which was GREAT! However it was discontinued a few years ago. I will try this for sure, looks great! I think the Jello product gad an Oreo base instead of graham cracker crumbs.
It looks delicious, I think the invention of peanut butter and chocolate is one of mankind's greatest. And what you've done with both is fabulous, I'll be making it soon. Let me add that your video was very detailed and easy to understand. Thank you!
Hello My favorite step is when you say: "And then we will come back, we will try one" You look like a small kid exiting to get a bonbon (I'm French). Thank you very much for all these wonderful recipes and your sweetness.
Hi, is this dessert same as US army MRE peanut butter dessert bar ? Ive tried it and fell in love with it and I'm looking the recipe to make this at home.
Yum, I make these too, but I make mine in 9x13 pan, I don't like them thick.....do you ever make anything in a 9x13 pan ? They go further and not so thick.... :).
Since for a lot of people a 9 x 13 inch is too much, I make the smaller size. But if a recipe calls for an 8 inch pan, you can always double the recipe for a 9 x 13 inch pan. Personally I like the thickness of each layer in these bars. For me, it is about the flavor balance. But if you prefer you could use a larger pan to make the layers thinner.
These are delicious....I make them all the time, but I do a little different than you do.....we love them and swear they are better than a Reese Cup.What is Rick's favorite dessert that you make & what is yours ?
@@joyofbaking Yeah, I love Fruit pies and the tarts too.....most all fruits too....will need to check out your tarts....we make Pecan tarts for Christmas and they are delicious....don't know why we don't make them more often they are so good.....!!!
@@joyofbaking, thank you so much for your quick reply 😊. For now I will make the Peanut butter cookies😋, as I have to bring them 45 minutes away from my house. I thank you for all of your videos, you explain everything so well. I always make your banana bread recipe. So delicious and easy to make.
I love that there is NO cream cheese in your recipe of this!! Some people mix it with the peanut butter. Yuck! Making this in pie form for Sunday dinner-dessert tomorrow! (Adding butterscotch caramel chips and whipped cream along with the chopped peanuts for garnish!) Thank you, Stephanie :-)
Once these bars are set and ready to eat, Do they have to be stored in fridge or can I leave them covered on counter? Thanks for the recipe. I cannot wait to try.
🙏🏽 Stephanie Please let know if the Graham cracker crust is to be set in a pre- heated oven, or baked for 10 mins... If yes, what temperature please. 🙂
Wouldn't you agree Stephanie's bakes are the best?

Have you used this PB mixture for PB cups? I’ve seen your PB cup recipe but this seems like it would be great! 😊
I’ve never tried that but I bet it would taste good. Great idea.
Hi Stephanie, these bars look delicious. How long do they last outside the refrigerator?
They won’t hold that long at room temperature. Not sure of the exact amount of time as I usually serve them straight from the fridge.
@@joyofbaking, thank you so much for your quick reply 😊. For now I will make the
Peanut butter cookies😋, as I have to bring them 45 minutes away from my house.
I thank you for all of your videos, you explain everything so well. I always make your banana bread recipe. So delicious and easy to make.
Hi Stephanie, Could you use a sugar sub or less sugar in this recipe?
Rich Goodness
I love that there is NO cream cheese in your recipe of this!! Some people mix it with the peanut butter. Yuck! Making this in pie form for Sunday dinner-dessert tomorrow! (Adding butterscotch caramel chips and whipped cream along with the chopped peanuts for garnish!) Thank you, Stephanie :-)
What alternatives can I use for whip cream?
Once these bars are set and ready to eat, Do they have to be stored in fridge or can I leave them covered on counter? Thanks for the recipe. I cannot wait to try.
They need to be stored in the fridge.
🙏🏽 Stephanie
Please let know if the Graham cracker crust is to be set in a pre- heated oven, or baked for 10 mins... If yes, what temperature please. 🙂
I say the oven temperature at the beginning of video as you want to preheat the oven.
