The worst Nintendo home consoles in my opinion are the Wii U followed by the Wii. Biggest reason is the fact that the games are mostly reliant on gimmicky controls and are usually difficult to port/re-release. The best to me is Switch, SNES, GameCube, NES, and N64 in that order
I agree, trying to navigate with the WII remote/nunchuck on some games is so unorthodox and hard to get the hang of. Looks like I’m spasming when I’m playing sometimes 😂 Its too bad to because the WII has an incredible library.
Oh boy... It's pretty clear you have done your research. Tons of info here. But wow this is one of the worst takes I've ever seen in gaming content. GameCube released in 2001 and Wii in 2006 isn't an "incredibly short lifespan". Putting the SNES in the bottom 3 is just insane. I sure hope your next video is redeeming because I love your presentation and research work. Maybe it's just because your young (you mentioned you played the n64 because you had an older brother).
His ranking actually makes sense once you realize that he's ranking them solely based on what they provide in and of themselves, regardless of historical context. The fact that the Wii U contains the entire Wii and Wii virtual console library as well as the Wii U and Wii U virtual console library puts it far ahead of systems like the NES, SNES, N64, and GC which do not have anything close to that collection of games. It's an unorthodox way to rank systems though, to be sure.
Love your videos in general, but I hate your methodology for this ranking. Your reasoning for putting the NES last is basically that it sucks in 2024. It's completely unfair to judge a 40-year old console by today's standards. A list like this should take into account the impact the console had at that time, not how it compares to newer consoles now. I could see if you positioned this list as a list of your favorite consoles from worst to best because that's obviously very subjective, but that's not how you stated it.
The NES was incredible for its time yes. But when you’re doing a ranking for ALL-TIME, that means it needs to still hold up today, and the NES just doesn’t anymore. Its impact was undeniable, but ranked all-time? It just doesn’t compete
@@g2a5b0e a lot of old systems do become outclassed because they don’t hold up. There are only 2 reasons a console doesn’t become outclassed: either nostalgia (NES/N64) or the fact that they’re actually still good today (GameCube)

@@duff0120 Super Mario Bros 3 was one of the best video games on that console, it literally appeared on a movie before it was released to the public! That’s how much that game was destined for greatness.
Maybe I'm just too old school, but my absolute favorite Nintendo console is the SNES for it's vast library of killer games and beautiful sprite graphics. Speaking of sprites, I think sprite art is actually universally appreciated among gamers, and the 16-bit era is the pinnacle of it. My least favorite Nintendo console is the Wii. I didn't like the fact that Nintendo sacrificed power in favor of the sensor gaming gimmick. When I play, I would much rather sit down and move my fingers, not my entire body. Of course there are pro controllers, but I don't consider them the console's controllers - the ones that were bundled with the console are. Having said that, I hate the Wii controller...it was 3 steps backward, in my mind. Ick. Furthermore, the motion sensor was not yet refined, so it was glitchy. It was single handedly the console that made me lose interest in gaming. I'm 42, and I'll pick up a retro game and play for a couple of hours once in a great while, but all in all, I'm over gaming. I have continued to support Nintendo by buying a Switch for my kids. We own around 50 games for that console. That's a console I can get behind.
42 years🤟 u were literally the first nintendo generation. u were born in early 80s, and nes came out in mid 80s, snes in early 90s when u were 9,10,11,12 etc , teenager when n64 came out, young adult when gamecube came out in early 00s, Wii when u were done with collage and full time worker.. etc. Snes games will never age bad, Mario world and zelda link to the past looks still incredible after 30 years, and had so many good games.

@luciolynx5443 I was going solely based on the games specifically for each system and not paying any attention to backward compatibility, while also taking into account their controllers and any possible gimmicks that would hinder or enhance the overall playing experience. And, of course, I was looking at my personal experiences/enjoyment with each system and how many games on each system I still play to this day. While I love each of these systems, there are fewer Wii games that I still go back to than I do with GameCube. If you're only looking at the fact that the Wii is basically a GameCube 2 in that it can do everything the GameCube does on top of having it's own library of games, then, yes, it would be above the GameCube, but by simply looking at the exclusive aspects of each system (game libraries, controllers, etc), then the GameCube is better based on my experience.
The wii u is a backwards compatibility powerhouse if you like older games but don't have the PC to run the emulators or prefer to use real hardware instead of a PC the wii u is the way to go it's also pretty cheap nowadays so that's a plus When someone asks me 'i want to play Nintendo games i say then you will need 3 consoles 1) a 3DS for DS,3DS,GBA,GBc and GB games 2) the switch/switch 2 for switch games 3) the wii u for EVERYTHING ELSE

Here's my take. I'm not going to consider hacks and homebrews because that clearly favours modern consoles. I don't mind considering that, just won't do it for now. Also I'm considering the online functionalities they had before shutdown. #7 Wii U: I like the Wii U. If I considered mods it would be the best hands down. Library is definitely the weakest, lack of 3rd party means the best games were exclusives, and guess what? Almost all of them are somewhat on the Switch now. It had nice features, like Miiverse and videoconference, and also had backwards compatibility with the Wii. However, as the Switch proved, at the end of the day people want to play good games. The gamepad is also kinda awkward, with many buttons that you'll almost never use on most games. If only they had a better Virtual Console, I could place it a bit higher on the list. #6 Wii: Listen, the Wii was my childhood's console, I played thousands of hours on it, and still keep my old console warmed up. It's not a bad console, but maybe because I spent so much time on it its flaws become more apparent: first, the motion controls get really repetitive and boring over time, and lack of rechargeable batteries are really bad. You NEED to buy rechargeable AAs. The library has solid titles, but somewhat show the lack of experimentation we saw on the GC. Also they made almost all their titles to be more friendly to new audiences and multiplayer focused, which is not that good for someone like me whom was more of a lone type without siblings or friends. Lastly, the lack of hdmi is bad; I couldn't take it to a birthday party because the host didn't have a TV with AV support. Only better than the Wii U because of GC compatibility. #5 NES: Revolutionary console, saved the industry, yeah ik. But it really shows its age. Back then games were limited by hardware, so most developers decided to go for painfully difficult games, so you would spend weeks on a game that could be speedrun in 5 minutes. Nowadays most games feel like cheap difficulty design. Also, since those games were completely new, the foundations were still not set, so things like Fire Emblem and Final Fantasy inventory management were kinda bad. So basically it didn't age that well. #4 Nintendo 64: another example of revolutionary console that lost some of its charm through age, albeit not quite like the NES. The Nintendo 64 has some of the best games of all time. However, some things on the console annoy me. Why so many peripherals? Controller Pack, Rumble Pack, Expansion Pack. I hate that, especially because on where I live these things are really expensive. Also, the controller is not that great, the analog can easily break, and the c buttons are not that confortable. Some games also have horrible camera. This is understandable, but just shows how far have we come. #3 Gamecube: I love the Gamecube. Melee, Baiten Kratos, TTYD, Mario Sunshine, Twilight Princess, Path of Radiance, etc. I love how Nintendo was more experimental and creative this time, since you couldn't just rely on 3D anymore. Also I really love the charm of the console, one of the best controllers ever, and small things like being able to connect Gameboy Advance and play with a second screen. To me it was a solid improvement from N64 just like the SNES was a improvement from the NES. #2 SNES: beast console. Everything about the SNES is so good. The library is legendary, especially for RPG lovers. Also you can play GameBoy games with the Super GameBoy which is pretty cool. #1 Switch: Idk if it deserves the number 1, but the Switch has a great design and I admire that. And the library is also massive. Even though 1st party cost a leg, at least you can buy cheap titles on the eshop, like Stardew Valley, Vampire Survivors etc. Also the Switch on this list is technically cheating because it's also portable lol. And a lot of old titles are on the Switch too, so that's a plus.

I hope this video was made strictly for engagement because this ranking is terrible. Like it’s really bad and the rationale is heavily flawed. I’m assuming bro is generation z cause there’s no way you have the Wii U ahead of any other Nintendo console cause of the pro controller and some hd remakes? You play video games because of the games themselves and the functionality of the console; aka the experience. The Wii, for example, will never rank high to me because it was gimmicky and the motion controls were forced into so many of their 1st party games during this time period. Idc how well it sold, it’s not getting higher than a 4th maybe 5th place? And to say the gamecube ranks low because of its lifespan?… like dude what are you talking about? Honestly any list that doesn’t have the WiiU in last place is invalid to me. I recently discovered your channel and your videos are pretty good but honestly this video is awful. The NES being at the bottom of any list is laughable
Unbelievably bad take. All you had to do was put Wii U at the bottom. It's a freebie.
Let’s get hype baby
Do you plan to have a reaction video to the Switch 2 trailer whenever it comes out?
NES SNES and the N64 were the best
How can you have the N64 as second worst?? It pioneered 3D Home Console gaming!! Ocarina, Banjo, Mario 64 etc all hold up today!!
I feel like you've judged these consoles by how they would play NOW, rather than consider the impact and experience at the time....
If that would be the case, Mario 64 would be the best 3d game of all time
1:00 in and this video is already wrong
1.Wii U
2.wii
3.switch
4.n64
5.GameCube
7.snes
8,nes
you should do handhelds next :)
SNES is way too low to take this seriously
N64 was better then the gamecube. The games on the N64 were better then the Gamecube.
You fell from Grace when u put the Wii U into the top 10, sir!!
Gamecube behind the wii u!?
16:33 2/3 of those i don't care about
Also i can all of the NES, SNES, N64, GAMECUBE wii and DS games on the wii u no overpriced subscription required
Edit: and GBA and GBc and GB and virtual boy and probably some others in forging about
The NES… at the bottom?????? TF!
Followed by N64?! Burn the list!!
NES at the bottom 🤦🏽♂️
wii, switch and wii u best
This might be the worst ranking I have ever seen.
I got most of them be hard to rank.
1.Wii U
2.Wii
3.Switch
4.n64
5.gamcube
6.snes
7.nes
nah the wii u doesnt deserve to be that high
@@CaptainGandalfSkywalker32 I can see why
Your rankings are terrible.
What is the Wii u I never heard or seen one either or never seen or heard of the Wii either
At 13:35 I agree that the switch is the best as it has the best online experience
"Every few years" is the absolute wrong choice of words to describe how often Nintendo releases a home console.
I didn't even get to 1 minute into the video, I know this is all your opinion but C'mon bruh
Holy shit, your ranking is exactly the same as mine.
@RawPower867 cool
I enjoy your videos, and I get this is personal opinion (on video games, no less), but this is a shit list.
I agree that NES is great but definitely last
1. Switch 2. GC 3. Wii 4. N64 5. SNES. I didn't have the other ones
Wii U is the best
its a good conosle but its problem is that it is not portibale
Ya😊
No matter what list i see for Nintendo consoles, NES and SNES will always be top 2 for me
you sir, are wrong.
Did he seriously rank the WiiU above the SNES, N64 and GameCube😂😂😂
This is the true ranking:
7. NES
6. WiiU
5. Wii
4. GameCube
3. Switch
2. N64
1. SNES
The Wii and Wii U are far too high. They are easily Nintendo’s worst
I’ve never even heard that before lol I typically enjoy his videos but this one wasn’t it
1. Gamecube
2. Switch
3. N64
4. Snes
5. Nes
6. Wii
7. Wii u
Dude's trolling putting nes at the bottom.
