"You said we'd be meeting in private."
"No, I didn't. (...) None of you would like the idea of something being done behind your back, would you?"
She even had all their favorite smoothies prepared in advance, to make it clear that there was no mistake, and that she did expect them all there at the same time. Strawberry's poetry translates to how she approaches interpersonal problems as well. She uses metaphors and analogies that catch people off guard when they realize what she's really saying. She does this in a lot of episodes. She's a great role model, showing how to be patient and kind without being a pushover.
And this episode really highlights Raspberry's pretty relatable flaws. She's so indecisive that she rewrites her lines of dialogue as she's saying them. She actually had plenty of time to make the dress, but she spent that time battling her own perfectionism instead. And her friends gaslighting her into thinking she was getting supernatural assistance just made things worse.
Another thing that's interesting is how the girls came up with wildly different dresses even though they had Raspberry's design on paper. Because translating paper to fabric is still a creative process. The same goes for translating and adapting media. Tale Foundry has a couple of videos about that, and this episode reminded me of them. They make the point that even the creation of the original art piece is a process of translation, translating an abstract idea in your head to something tangible that can be shared with others, and in this process some things are lost and others are found. That's why Strawberry's original poem, imagining a shooting star from what she read or heard, is very different from her final poem, describing how she actually, personally feels about _not_ having ever seen a shooting star. Fewer layers of translation. The shooting star a great choice of topic for the episode too, as it's something that lots of people have experienced, and lots of people haven't, which drives home the point of everyone having different perspectives.
Lastly, it's neat how, since this is one of the first episodes of the show, they managed to sneak all the girls' day jobs into the story, even if they aren't necessarily relevant, just to reinforce the worldbuilding. It also reinforces the idea that even though they are all busy with their own things, they always make time for each other.
