INSANE footage of multiple powerful tornadoes that tore through Oklahoma during the May 9, 2016 outbreak. This video easily makes it into our personal Top 5 Tornado Videos as the incredibly powerful Wynnewood EF-4 tornado ripped across the road 1/4 mile in front of us, tossing power poles down and throwing an entire tree across the road! Footage includes the extreme, close-range Katie / Wynnewood tornado, the Sulphur rain-wrapped wedge, a white elephant trunk tornado as it roped out, and close-range Hugo tornado as it tore though town.

Tornado Trackers is made up of storm chasers Jeff Mangum, Jeremy Hamann, and Gabe Cox. - Наука
2:28 to 2:40 is the best tornado footage available, anywhere imho.
Yeah that blew me away when I first saw it. Quite a display of power. Nature is awesome - and terrifying..
maybe but for some reason it's shot by an alzheimer's patient who had his finger on the on off button.. it's sad to say but the cameraman and i'm guessing the driver screwed up big time if you ask me..
Violent!
Agreed. Really hits home visually how the human body would not survive exposure to that utter maelstrom.
It’s the whole reason I’ve added this video to my favorites.
2:30 definitely a heart attack moment
2:35 through 2:40 shows the true power of this thing wow!!!!
At 2:27, the tornado almost looks like it's defying the laws of physics, the way it's throwing things across the road at such a high rate of speed. It just looks like something that's not supposed to happen, that's supposed to be impossible. It's almost like the trees and debris were shot out of a cannon or something. I've seen a similar shot from basehunters and Dick McGowan's channels and every time I see it, the only thing I can say is "wow". If you slow it down to 0.25%, it looks like a "regular" tornado, like something I've seen in a thousand other videos, but when played at full speed, it's simply nuts. It's crazy to know that things like that can happen.
This is a terrifying storm and an amazing video, thanks for sharing.
Magnetic fields are fascinating. Magnetism, however, is the last field to be studied in this video.
?
+Gerard Moran: My bad; Meant to address Daniel Roberts. Disregard.
Daniel Roberts all I understood was you have a BIG comment
Daniel Roberts I'm don't know much about that stuff but it actually makes a lot of sense. I actually want to research it a bit.
Good footage. Would have been nicer if your copyright notice didn't cover half the screen.
Steven DeVries Thats for a reason, people steal shit, then sell it. even videos, but then again, you probably knew this and was mad because you wanted to sell it.
Because it obscured your view?
@@notthefather3919 it did mine. I watched from.my Iphone
i agree
3:01 this footage is breathtaking
How did people react to tornadoes in the 1400s or so? Did they think the world was ending?
HERP derp you have such a good point
The coyote Gamer www.medievalists.net/2015/12/tornadoes-in-mediaeval-britain/. Also wanted to point out that tornadoes are rare in other parts of the world. Especially Europe, so we don’t have too many examples from history regarding them.
Probably
There were no white ppl in america in 1400
They probably took it better than all of the snowflakes bitching about a quarantine... but I’m just sayin. Lol.
no doubt one of the best tornado videos ever...from 2:25-2:50.
Next time Hollywood makes a movie about storms or tornadoes, this is the footage the CGI animators and artists should study, so we can avoid the garbage that was Into The Storm.
Disaster movies are, by their very nature, relatively low-budget films, so watching this wouldn't change much of anything.
CGI is crap.
Wee Fishy Agreed
And Hollywood still thinks thunder comes before lightning.
What? Day After Tomorrow budget: $125 Million. Armageddon budget: $140 Million. 2012 budget: $200 Million. San Andreas budget: $110 Million. Even Twister had a budget $92 Million. That is NOT low budget!
Intense! Natural disasters are crazy. Everyone I see floors me. It's been my favorite subject to make documentaries on for awhile now.
You guys are so GOOD! I believe that this video is the BEST coverage I have EVER seen of tornadoes. Mercy...you get so close. God bless you.
Camera shaking makes me dizzy lol incredible footage. That is one fast spinning tornado
You two seem to work well together It's always a bonus watching these when we don't have to listen to the camera guy yell at the driver!!
Great job guys! This might be one of the best up close and personal video depicting the violence and destruction that occurs at ground level during a twister of this magnitude. Many don't often get to see it. They are the fortunate ones. For those of us who have, we know that video cannot even begin to accurately depict how incredibly powerful and destructive they are to sound structures when they are caught in the path of them. Many chasers are not in sync with one another or, theyll have 5 people piled into a vehicle with only 2 knowledgeable enough to accurately read the storm and make the appropriate decision to remain relatively safe while the other 3 only think they are knowledgeable and often bicker and criticize each other for their reactions or over reaction to witnessing catastrophe. At times their fighting is entertaining but often I find it annoying and immature. You guys just flow with each other and the style you record with is awesome. You're passion shows and I appreciate that. Definitely thos video is in my top 5 of up close and personal tornado videos that show the destruction at the base. Thanks guys and be safe out there if y'all still chasing!
Please awnser me: WHY DO I LOVE WATCHING NATURE
That was one of the most violent tornados I have ever seen.
That's incredible power, awesome footage!!
Wow! This footage is absolutely amazing. Breathtaking! Excellent job. Glad to see you made it out of there 😳
Definitely the most clear footage of a tornado tossing trees about when it crosses the road
Well done, guys, you have captured the incredible destructive force of the tornado better than most other chasers. Awesome!
2:27 - That is absolute chaos! I'd need to change into a new pair if I was on location! 😂
Awesome video! It doesn't get any better than that... Great job dude's!
I think that this clip has so few likes compared to the number of views is because it is so incredibly mesmerizing. Amazing power! Thanks.
amazing video!! great work guy's! thanks!
Always been fascinated with these tornadoes. Would have loved to be there with you guys !
Great footage guys!! Well done...
This is incredible footage, hopefully you have invested in some stable camera mounts for your next chases. It always amazes me that people survive at all in these things.
M Dutchy thanks! We have a dash cam and GoPro setup in place, we had a GoPro malfunction and we thought we had the dashcam on -- but it wasn't. All this footage is from our handhelds. Wish we had the dash cams on 😫😫😫
Cool, well good luck this year.
Absolutely unreal footage guys xx
Great footage. Also like that you two are kind people.
Man that thing was mean. Straight violent. What awesome footage. Great video
Awesome footage! Liked, Subscribed. You got some balls on you brothers.
Great footage. You guys be safe!
Yowzah these guys are making their angels work overtime!!👼🏼😬
Incredible footage guys
Really appreciate it Denise!
omg
That rotation is insane!
That was an awesome video!!
Great video, what POWER this storm had. Snapping telephone poles like twigs. Stay safe fellas.
Your videos are great!
Nice video, you managed to take great footage and it wasn't loaded with overpowering chatter about "horizontal vortices", "satellites" and "RFD" that some storm chasers can't help but constantly spout!
I want to thank the Deathwish Posse for this footage! Thanks guys great job 👍
You guys are nuts but I salute you.
Those guys are a lot gutsier than I've ever been or ever will be!
2:30 tornado crossing the road holyshit!!
That was really good. Hoping the people affected were okay. Like you said, wish these stayed in open fields but the close-up shots will probably be of value to those studying them.
Nice footage y'all be safe out there don't try and get to extreme.
Great Footage.. We live in Roff Okla and It just missed us by 4 miles. Prays go out to all those who were affected by Monday's Storms. Just another day of May in Oklahoma.
footage has good resolution but is a bit too shaky compared to the other 3 or 4 chasers that were there with you who had essentially the same shot
FFS another butter in the crowd! Footage has good resolution....BUT.....I dare say you aren't the only butter in this comment section. People risking their lives for others' entertainment.....and yet they are simply not satisfied.
@@mikebridges7294 bullshit.... They're not risking their lives for others' entertainment they're risking their lives for their own thrills and money...I know how it works... Some of us actually know how to operate a camera,, compose good shots, and keep their mouths shut...
This is one of the most interesting tornado chase I have seen. I have seen many.
2:28-2:42 - WOW!
Just wow?!
You have nothing else to add? 😂
you guys are good!
Missed some fantastic footage because of bad camera handling
Man, this tornado is very quick and violent!
2:30 - I think I shart myself just watching this!
This is wild
I hate to see these ruin people's lives, but they are too gorgeous to ignore.
Outstanding
You yuys are insane! Wish I had bren therectoo. Great work!
Holy cow that's about the some of the best footage I've seen in a long time. you might want to invest into a Steadicam definitely would have a better money shot
Tom William thanks Tom! Yes, these were taken with all of our extra handhelds. We made the mistake of not turning on our steady dashcam. A frustrating realization after the fact 🤦♂️
Having lived through a little F2 up in North Dakota, I think I can safely say that you folks are out of your damn minds. Hope you stay safe! :)
I know it's an old post but which town was that you guys drove through? Great footage and looking forward to moving closer to the action now that I have my degree but looking for a good starting point, any suggestions on a home base starting point out there? And that town I do want to know which town that was.
Amazing footage. Damn, right at the end of the street, goddamn trees flying! Lol. Awesome awesome.
Is the speed of the wind at the top of the funnel the same as the speed at the bottom of the funnel?
This some of the best footage I've seen, and thank you guys for being there to assist with the help of the injured and the cleanup. I want to tell you if Dr. Fugeti ( don't know if I spelled that right) were alive today he would he very excited about this footage
Excellent footage.
Thank you!
I agree
+Tornado Trackers Amazing Footage . Here in the UK we are getting them to now seen 4 this year
This is amazing footage guys. Stay Safe
I see a lot of multiple vortices in that baby.
You guys shoot some GREAT footage from superb locations, along with really nice production value! a Truly Pro team of chasers!
As a storm chaser, do you know to not follow a obvious EF5, vs to record and approach a tornado that is violent but visually an EF4?
4:10 I really wanna name that one Skeeter for some reason.
Wow! Mother Nature is awesome! 3:05 beautiful and scary. 4:30 the color of the sky 😨.
I wish that 2:42 wasn't cut short like that, but the tornado did after all move in a different direction.
Very fast rotation devastating strongly
Take some video classes..your footage would be great
Absolutely we would jump in and help if/when we see that. We join with cleanup and rebuilding organizations as often as possible. Humans first, chasers second. Love the storms, hate when storms affect people. Wish each tornado was over an open field.
Ivan Hopper ef-4
I would freakin pee myself because that is scary
I would be like hell NO!
Tornado Trackers o
Tornado Track
thankfully the town of Katie OK is a town that's totally spread out over a wide area
Yes! Was hoping that tornado would stay in the open fields. Glad the town isn't as densely populated, could've been a worse situation.
Tornado Trackers yep like when a tornado hits a more populated area like dodge city which has 28,000 people and Abilene which has 6600 people
Derek Wall حالا
There was a funnel cloud recently in California's central valley, near Lodi.
you are hero
You guys need to get some pointers from Pecos Hank.
Did Pecos cover these tornadoes?
GREAT FOOTAGE. just remember to stop the car before u zoom in.
KEEP CALM & BE CAREFUL 😎😎😉👊
Ever thought about buying a stabiliser for that camera
Insane
Can I ask a question why do cows run towards tornadoes xxxxx and why don't thay moo when sucked up xxx just a question
crazy tornado
Amazing footage!! What you guys do is a great service to everybody that lives in these tornado prone areas. I dont mean this as any type of hate and i have never done this before but when seeing a town and homes being destroyed it seems it would be time to put the camera down and start the search and rescue.. I watched another dudes videos Pecos Hank and he seems to always say enough is enough and stops the chase and helps if possible
that is crazy especially the way it is moving !!!!!😨😨😨😨
Could this be an f-6? Extraordinary violent motion! Very dangerous tornado! Look at the rfd wind it looks like 150 mph! What rating did this tornado receive?
Clayton Gillaspy I believe EF-3 but a group with Raxpol radar captured winspeeds near 220 MPH. Some chasers were saying it's the most powerful wedge they've witnessed since El Reno.
it was an f4
Tha guy in front seemed lke he wanted to know what it feels inside the center of the beast...crazy as hell..good footage doe..👍👍👍👍
It looks like the Pampa, Texas F4 tornado that happened on June 8, 1995. I believe photogrammetry was used to estimate the winds inside that tornado. I believe the winds were around 300 mph.
The effect it has on objects and houses kinda reminds me of a giant blender.
This is why America is such a God fearing country!!!
It would be great if you could keep the camera still for more than five seconds. Otherwise, great.
Boy that must be a huge risk
Could you shake the camera anymore? Can't tell if I was watching a tornado or the footage of Bigfoot!
@ 2:28 with that small road you can really get a sense of how enormous & powerful it is, a true monster. Then @ 2:43 they cut the shot during the best part of the entire video....good job.
I'm going ona trip in a favorite tornado zooming through everywhere little tornadoes
Awesome footage. The audio was distracting though.
Far be it from me to tell anyone how to do their job. Today people are getting entirely too close to the behemoths. They can and do change directions at a moments notice. They are unpredictable to say the least. These reasons are why I think that injury and death tolls are going to start rising soon from people trying to get as close as they can. That up close up picture will do no one any good if the photographer and chaser are injured or dead.
El Reno is an example of a tornado suddenly changing direction.
It started out heading toward the south east for a while but then turned and headed northeast. That's part of the reason the chasers who died got caught.
ricky Driskell it's the inexperience lol they sound like young kids
Please shut up. In the ENTIRE HISTORY of storm chasing, there have been just 3 storm chasers killed, and that was only because the tornado they were chasing ended up being the biggest tornado EVER recorded (2.6 miles) and had the highest wind speeds ever recorded as well (306 mph). So I think you can relax.
@@danieldevito6380 not the highest wind speeds, but it's size is true.
Back in 2007 I was a semi truck driver heading back into northern Utah to get another load. I had an empty trailer and my truck was governed right at 65 mph. So I'm clipping along north bound on I-15 and I'm passing many of these little dust devils on each side of the street. Freaky little things. Then as I get down the road a bit further U feel something tugging at my trailer so I look into my side.mirror. one of those dust devils had grown in size to over 50 feet in diameter and was chasing my truck straight up I-15!!! It was literally picking up the back end of my trailer and setting it down in the other lane and there was now way to out run it! This went on for a few miles and several times I almost flipped over and crashed. At that point only God knows why I didn't! But then just as fast as it started the dang thing turned right and went up to the mountain base and just sat there spinning in one spot again! Granted that was an itty bitty tornado but it was powerful enough to pick up a 10000 pound trailer with ease. Just imagine what some of these storm chasers end up in!!! Freaky stuff right there. That's be enough to make me.poop my britches!!!
Baby tornado 😍😍😍
I still don't see how this wasn't an ef5
whyyyyy are the power lines above ground in USA???
