No problem with prayers, none at all. You took this video under dangerous circumstances and quietly at that, and most of the footage is awesome. Better a quiet prayer than the usual F bombing, screaming and S words that accompany way too many chase videos.
Both reactions are okay and understandable. I don't pray, but it's no wonder why people do. You see something like that, and are completely powerless to help or do ANYTHING at that moment for them. Nothing. Just hoping something can help is a knee-jerk reaction that makes complete sense. And on the other hand, cussing and other exclamations are also knee-jerk reactions that make complete sense. Judging words in these situations is ridiculous. Whether cussing or praying. This man was scared for those people.
Although I myself am not religious and actually even look down to to religious people, I think it is beautiful how he prays for the people in danger. It's a wonderful move, it shows compassion and how religion and actually sometimes makes society better (albeit it often makes things worse). Don't judge him, he is a nice guy (-:
guessimalivinglegend Why on earth do you look down on the religious? He proved with his prayer that he's a good person, you said so. You still look down on him?
I do definetely not look down on him. He's a wonderful and caring person. I just look down on people who fanatically practice their religions :x Not on him. He did nothing to make me look down on him, but has my respect.
I don't look down on religious people. I look at them the same way you look at adults who still believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and unicorns or people who claim to be Christ like David Koresh. When I became an adult I set aside childish ways.

those horizontal vortices were the most intense thing... just shows the immense violence of the winds that day! Excellent video.. goosebumps! And thank you for praying for those people!
So if the guy wants to pray let him pray. You atheists say that Christians are bigots (and I won't disagree a lot of us are), but if you can't watch a video and be open minded and understand that this guy is doing all he can do then you are just as bigoted as some Christians.

Every time I see debris flying through the air or around a tornado I think of how that debris could actually be people or animals being tossed like rag dolls. You've heard the stories about children and baby's being pulled from their parents arms so I immediately think of that. It's such a horrible thing to think about. Truly depressing when you hear of stories like that. May they all rest in peace
I had to scroll down only a bit to find this because that’s what I was going to say. Those truckers didn’t even tap their breaks at the beginning heading right towards it. I guess when the delivery is due it’s due.
Near as I can figure, they're heading for an off-ramp or hoping to avoid it entirely by missing it before or after it crosses the highway. On the highway you're often effectively trapped and I admit I'd be tempted to try and reach an off-ramp to seek shelter in a building rather than try to lay in a ditch. Guess it depends on the situation!
Sorry to hear about his passing, I think this is definitely one of the best if the best video of this tornado! I remember when this came out. Scary stuff!!

Mike - I have watched this video many times since 2011. It has been very informative , educational and a blessing. To see your knowledge and professionalism displayed with your compassion has been such an encouragement. Your placement was perfect. I am now in Georgia, but once lived in Palmetto. God bless you and the people touched by this tragedy. May they look to the one who saved so many that day. It could have been many more lives lost.
This was a particularly nasty one. Incredible footage you captured of it! Chasers like you guys are what provide the most useful and life-saving information about these beasts of nature.
Hell I'm an agnostic, but I probably would have said Jesus 100 times too if I saw that tornado in person. That is great video footage though, other than the one I had seen of the dude at the shopping center where it touched down probably 500 ft away this is probably the best
@J BOLD Jesus does not officiate evil. You should know better. That's done by the prince of this world, Satan. Christ is risen! Indeed, He is risen! And hell is terrified, because all its palaces were emptied. If you don't believe me, look it up in Matthew Chapter 27. Look at Job in the Old Testament. God may allow things to happen to us, but it's to check if we truly believe in Him and His goodness and mercy. Like Job said, "The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord." You and I and all humanity will stand before His Judgment Seat to give an account of our lives, and everything will be written that we've ever done and/or didn't do. Do we have any excuses? I know i don't, because I know I'm a sinner saved by His grace and mercy. Just think about about it; life is 10% what happens to us, and the other 90% will be dependent on how we responded. Satan and his companions have no chance of salvation, because they've already been judged. It is they who seek to destroy us and this world, because they are God's enemies and our enemies. That having been said, I pray you will seek salvation through Christ, because now you know that He is Glorified, together with His Father who has no beginning and His Life-Giving and Holy Spirit. Both now and forever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

My wife lost two cousins in Tuscaloosa that day, she was in SICU at UAB and thankfully didn't fully realize what was happening. We were picking up debris in our yard 90 miles N.E. In Birmingham. Papers from school children along with all types of roofing materials. Found out later this tornado had actually lifted over Birmingham and came back down near Moody.
Please forgive me for bringing this to you, but I use screen-reading software to read these comments, and "l" is not I. At 5:33, on the left side of the tornado, it looks like two demonic tentacles come out, grasping at something and then they melt back into the tornado. It gives me goosebumps watching this. I survived the tornado, it was a nightmare... a lot of people died around me. Its hard to live a normal life after you go through something like this. This past Sunday night I met and talked to a State Farm Insurance Agent, who was in Tuscaloosa after this happened and he said the tornado ripped the asphalt off the road in the Alberta City area. No doubt this one should've been rated an EF5, as most people agree.

To everyone that speaks against prayer, I hope and pray that you have a change of heart before its to late for you.
I lived on campus at the time. It was reported that it was headed to down town Tuscaloosa and the university but it turned and literally went up the city but not towards us that day. You could definitely see the tornado from campus though....
@@Sheisneika0976 I'm sorry for the people that got a direct hit. Thank God it didn't hit the university.
That must have been a very terrible experience, and terrifying at the same time, EF4 tornadoes are NO joke, especially when they hit a town like this. Im glad you guys survived this horrible event, I hope it never happens again 🙏

Those are called horizontal vortices they usually signify violent tornadoes

No problem with prayers, none at all. You took this video under dangerous circumstances and quietly at that, and most of the footage is awesome. Better a quiet prayer than the usual F bombing, screaming and S words that accompany way too many chase videos.
Totally agree. Too many amateur chasers forget that the monster currently churning through the city is also killing people!!!
Not better...words have no effect on the storms!

An agnostic is just a confused atheist.
@J BOLD no way. This is all Shiva.
Amen.
