  • Our HOME for 300 Days, a TESLA Y, that can be challenging, especially as a Family. And also the charging situation for our EV is not always easy. #TESLA #Vanlife as a #family. This experiment showed us how powerful #MINIMALISM is. We traveled all over Europe and Morocco 100% electric. #LIVING 300 days in a car was only possible with a very minimalist approach.
    We travel to various countries, we sleep in the TESLA, working in it, and we have everything we need as a family with us;
    for cooking, making fresh coffee, clothes, a few toys but never too much, because space is limited.
    The concerns were also, will we get stranded with our EV somewhere out of battery? And what about our son, will he be able to handle it too? Or are we asking too much of him?
    But why with a Tesla??
    For us it was very clear, we want to travel fully electric. And no other EV was an option. And the Tesla model Y is the best choice for us.
    But why so minimalisic??
    There are a few reasons and we realized that we really don't need much.
    Have you ever forced yourself to do something outside of your comfort zone?
    If so, you will understand, the output is huge!
    And what is the advantage of this??
    FREEDOM! So simple as it sounds!
    We have never traveled as freely and spontaneously as we do now.
    This way of traveling and the limited space teaches us an important lesson every day: FOCUS on the essentials!

    Great video as always! Love this format. Interesting that you camped with the trunk open. I’ve had mine closed with camp mode but was cold in the mountains.

      Sorry, that's probably a misunderstanding. We have a front window open at night when Tesla camping. And when we use camp mode, of course all the windows and the trunk are closed.
      Do you also camp in a Tesla Y and what are your experiences with camping and Camp Mode? How many kilometers of consumption do you have on average per night with the Camp Mode running all night?

      Got it that make sense. Lost about 3 miles per hour. Not too bad!

    Your videos are great! But they are very short compared to other bloggers, 15-20 mins would be golden

    Comment une famille qui aurait pu profiter de la vie choisie de se la compliquer en partant en Tesla. Il faut juste savoir que ce n'est pas forcément un choix inspirant. Jamais plus je ne gacherai mes vacances avec ces voitures tant qu'elles resteront ce qu'elles sont, un ensemble de belles promesses non tenues.

      Thank you for the feedback and the question.
      Why do some climb mountains when they could be more comfortable on the couch? Maybe because they want to discover new things...
      We have come to appreciate this way of traveling with its freedom and spontaneity. However, we are aware that this is not for everyone.

    Can you both with the kid sleep comfortably inside the cabin? what if kid rolls, does he has enough space to do rolls?

    • @swissfamilytravelstheworld

      Enough, like in a tent. But of course it depends on how big and wide everyone is in total... like in a bed or a tent.

    Interested if you considered a roof box at all? I know it would not align with your minimalism approach though.

    • @swissfamilytravelstheworld
      @swissfamilytravelstheworld  10 месяцев назад

      We have actually already thought about a roof box. That would of course be possible with the Tesla. But a roof box also costs energy.
      For this reason, among others, we decided against it. It was more important to us not to reduce our range, especially because we were traveling in Morocco or other countries in remote areas without any charging options. But maybe in the future we will decide on one...
