Man, the Beatles really knew how to make songs really deceptively complex, chord-wise. This sounds like such a simple love ballad. Nuh-uh. Wrong. Crazy chord changes going on here.
bober_ Well at the time, hearing all of this in pop/rock songs was kind of mind blowing.
@bober_ Having a bII chord in the first few seconds of the song and then modulating directly after the intro is pretty unusual for a pop song
Flyin Pig Music Same thing with Ask Me Why. Sounds like a simple song but it has 12 chords, complex harmonies, jazz elements. Pretty advanced for four guys between 19 and 22.
peter ahser's book says their signature's are like none other. maybe, why no one can reach them.
You have to remember this was the type of music always played at the time. Such songs that sound alike, ask me why, or a world without love. The whole please please me album, sounds like a classic, for example, a taste of honey. Any simple chord progressions like a 1 4 5 were used at the time, and that's what they usually played and likes to play during the early years.. They usually liked playing in the key of E Major too, sorta gets that classic vibe at the time

Thank you, I will note that my J160 part is not 100% accurate. I sometimes did a regular A when I now hear that John plays A7. I think the choice between chords is random but could have to do with section changes. Anyone, I just wanted to point out that inaccuracy for anyone trying to one-up this. And we encourage that!
@@AblyHouse Gentlemen...AWESOME job!!! Don't worry about the rhythm part not being 100% accurate. Just about EVERYBODY plays it (to some degree) less than 100% accurate. It does surprise me, though, that just about everyone plays the intro Ebm at the 6th fret, when Lennon clearly plays it at the 2nd fret (XX4342) in the "A Hard Day's Night" film (and other places). He also adds an F# on top of his D chords (XX4232). The D9 you play is actually played with a C7 shape (X54530) which can also be seen in the film; although the chord on the recording sounds closer to XX0210. At any rate, fantastic job!

Hi! I'm not sure if your aware of these books but there any some books written by Jerry Hammack that goes very into detail about what The Beatles used to record and how they got from start to finish. I highly suggest you should take a look at them! They are called 'The Beatles Recording Reference Manual'. There are currently 4 volumes.

I used to get into fights with my ,,,mates,,,from the U,,K - they would also say to me that this is the song thats from the album "hard days night' album,,,,but growing up I only now it from 'something new'' - It wasn't until years and many years later that I realized they put different things on different albums because some of the albums can't be played on vinyls with stereo neadles and they were needed to be remixed,,,,,

Not sure if he wanted his name public here, but its the same guy I borrowed it from in 2017. He said he recommended this one for sound and playability even though it has the F-hole. He also lent me the Tennessean

@@pieta9097 We did everything in 2017 a first time. We wanted to scrap the J160 (epiphone), Neil transcribes and gets more accurate now and wanted to redo. The old 12-string was out of tune and the parts were my live version. Drums are still the 2017 version, and the Gibson J160 I did at the end of 2018. Neils bass and the Rick12 are very recent, a couple days ago
