Trying to imagine the look on the young Beatles' faces, if you told them, their songs would be played by folks in Central Park, like this, nearly 60 years later. Wonderful.
2:33 wow they even included paul's voice crack from the recording! god i love beatles fans. thank you john, paul, george, and ringo for creating such beautiful and timeless music that continues to bring people together and create wonderful moments like this.
Interesting point here - that crack is only on the stereo version - which the Beatles NEVER would have let get released! The mono version is what they mixed and has no vocal crack, although it does sound like Paul is struggling to get that note
I'm a 73 year old guy living in Sheffield UK. I've visit Liverpool every year to relive the Beatles experience. I watch your memorials on RUclips and they warm my soul. Listening to you sing If I Fell brought tears to my eyes....thank you.
I'm 74 and live in NYC. Starting 10 years after John Lennon died. I started going Central Park - Strawberry Fields. There were numerous very large groups of fans scattered all thru Central Park. While I never purposely set out to learn all the words, I did know every lyric to every song they wrote. What amazed me were people specifically there from countries all over the world. The feeling of everyone singing together was amazing. One of the most heart lifting things I ever did. I did see the Beatles perform in 66 in Boston. I will always be grateful to have been the age I am, to have the Beatles creating the soundtrack to my life
These videos from strawberry fields last december are some of the best videos on youtube. Young, old, white, brown, black, asian and more united by, and doing justice to, this timeless music.
I am also 73 year old woman, living in Japan. The Beatles came to Japan 1966 when I was 16. I have loved them for 60 years since 1964. How wonderful their music 🎶 is , still now. It's a miracle which God gave us. They will be loved forever in all over the world. I am so happy and lucky as lived at the same time with The Beatles . VIVA THE BEATLES 🎉
My heart - it's caught in my throat. 😢 This was simply beautiful. Thank you, lovely people in NYC. Ya done John proud. Bless you, bless you, bless you one and all. 💐🙏🏽💞
I teared up a little listening to this. Something about a group of people congregating in commemoration, singing one of the most beautiful songs that I think Lennon/McCartney ever wrote. This was emotional for me.
That was just so good, and great to see John being celebrated in Central Park. That is the power of beatle songs which no other songs seem to match. People can just start singing them anywhere, with or without whatever instrument, and they sound brilliant. We Beatles fans are the most dedicated out of any.
When I was in New York, my wife and I went to visit the John Lennon memorial. As we made our way up the approaching path we could hear Beatles songs being sung and guitars playing in the distance. It was one of those moments when the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.
Absolutely fabulous. They even had people doing John's harmonies and Paul's harmonies. Greetings from Toxteth, Liverpool, England (5 minutes from where Ringo was born) 🙂
@@thebeatlesnyc Yes, Ringo was born in a house on Madryn Street in Toxteth, Liverpool. Sorry I don't know the number. They have all just been renovated after being dilapidated for many years. But sadly it took a tragic event to bring it about
