It's amazingly great! All the instruments here realize the detailed sense of sound by the Beatles. It's not so hard to play like the Beatles, but it's really hard to feel their musical sense as they play. Your musical sensitivity is really great !
@@seid3366 I Want You(She's So Heavy) session pictures show Paul using the Hofner as they began recording for Abbey Road only a few weeks after Let It Be. You can look up the session pictures online.
A-One-Two, A-One Through Tree Four. This was excellent The sound is so close to the real track. Superb playing on top-notch instruments. And kudos for nylon strings on the 4001 !
The drum part is very hard to nail feel wise, but this sounds great. Especially on the tom groove, I knew he didn’t go up the toms from right to left like it had been said over the years. Would love to see more of the maple Hollywood kit, it sounds excellent!!
@@seid3366 Yeah I agree, usually the sound of that kit is flawless, but something’s definitely up, maybe it’s RUclips screwing it up? The bass drum should be very flappy/airy, but it’s almost distorted here
Its only my best guess! From all the outtakes, anthology and the one released more recently, you hear John clapping while singing. These are live takes and one of them has breakdown. The rhythm guitar parts overlap the clapping and are exactly the same as the final, so it must be George. However, Paul in 3, 2, 1 was saying John played the rhythm. There is also evidence of John really liking his tone the day they recorded. This can only mean for overdubs and Paul must be misremembering. Unless anyone can explain the lineup on Take 5 another way
Hey Guys! This is AWESOME! It sounds like the record itself! Since you have a "Lucy" Les Paul, why not do another Something Cover. Just a request. THANK YOU.
We have a vinyl coming out soon, it was supposed to be pressed Jan 4th and not sure if that happened. However, we are excited and you can order one if you would like! It's called Posey Hollow Quartet
This is the best cover I've ever heard of any Beatles song!! I can't wait for the future videos :) Just two little questions: How did you know George played the main Rhythm-y guitar and also, How did you figure out Paul used Nylon Tapewound strings for the bass?
I mentioned this in a couple other replies so I’ll be brief. Anthology versions and Take 5 are live takes with rhythm guitar and John is clapping. This means George is playing guitar. The guitar tone is the same and the ideas are the same. For tapewounds, thats Neils dept. I know Paul was experimenting with them at this time and they can be seen on the hofner in Get Back. Neil is either going off tone and his best guess or a source
@@neilcandeloramusic I think it's one Octopus's garden was well? They recorded the song around April 1969 and the session photos show Paul on the Rick with tapes
First time I have an observation to make on one of your videos, because usually it's spot on. But I feel like a tiny bit of overdrive would have been needed on the Rhodes. In 1969 they would have been using a Sparkletop (as can be seen played by Billy Preston in the pictures) which has an amplifier and different hammers (teardrops like acoustic pianos) than the Mark 1 you're using, hence the slightly hotter tone. Once again, everything else is perfect.
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!! where in the world did you find the 4-armed keyboard guy? ya all nailed it and made it look so easy! your version with the vocals is haunting. For the drums, Ringo went from the floor toms to the mid then high toms, since he was used to leading with left hand and couldn’t do a left to right. He explained it in his talk with Dave Stewart (you can find the video here in YT). Plus the drums sound wobbly especially for the bass drums like they have a bouncy aftersound to them Nevertheless, epic instrumental recreation!
Ringo plays it wrong there! He must not have remembered exactly how he played it in the studio after 50 years. The isolated recordings clearly indicate he starts on the high tom and ends on the low tom
@@niallchurch2679 you can hear the Tom’s don’t go completel low to high the exact way ringo describes it and the way the initial commenter described as well
@Neil Candelora - Maybe Ringo had his floor tom on top of his kick drum and rack tom on the floor, that way it can fit Ringo's description of right to left
But, in all seriousness, if you can't hear it's going high to low on the isolated track, make sure you are using good monitors and not a phone/laptop speaker. It becomes way more obvious
Would love to know more if you have a link! Never heard that, but I was looking for more John parts in this song because its said that he played. In the outtakes, Take 5 and Anthology it sounds like the final guitar while John is singing and clapping, overlapping the rhythm guitar. There are overdubs in the song, so I assumed thats where John’s guitar appears. It’s also said that when they did the overdubs, George and John were on guitars while Ringo was playing maracas. That sounds to me like they are doing the solo overdubs. Im not sure if they would have needed to fix something from the rhythm track since its all pretty simple and nothing stands out as different from the live takes
@@AblyHouse If you listen to the isolated guitar track, it sounds like there are two guitars from the second verse but back to one for the last verse and outro (excluding the riffs). This could be either John or George because they sound quite spot on on the verses, but I'm tempted to say it's John because his playing goes slightly out of time and sloppy, especially on the instrumental as it speeds up in places and a low open E is plucked on the chord change from D to A. Anyways heres the link to the isolated tracks: ruclips.net/video/REcUf0c2ArM/видео.html The open E string is heard at 10:53.
