When you listen to “Dear Prudence” it is so easy to get swept away by the awesome lyrics and vocals that you forget how much of a masterpiece this track is instrumentally.
From 2:57 to the end of the song, words cannot describe how perfectly and harmoniously this song was crafted. The Beatles truly were and I mean “TRULY” geniuses and the best band to ever exist.
You just proved again that every single member of the Beatles and every instrument is worth studying and learning- whether guitar, bass, piano, drums, vocals ... it will improve your skills as a musician massively
Arthur Pede I totally agree with you. It’s good to hear everything in a Beatle song and dissect it if you will. It’s good to follow an instrument thru out the whole song
Incredible. There will never be a band like the Beatles again.A hundred years from now if humanity still exist people will be listening to and dissecting their music.
@Josef FortSo sorry my mistake I get it now thank you for bringing that to my attention Josef I know that..........now, lol, whoops I certainly will admit when I am wrong and if that was not neg comment I will own it and apologize
Jesus Christ the Lord. Magnificent. And I thought this was one of their most well just overall vanilla beautiful songs, which I still think. And even so better than anything done in rock and still fresher than anything I can think of. That bass movement, the beautiful guitar simplicity, the country twang of the interplay, the superb drum fills and a bridge that blows your mind. And then that old campfire guitar playing that warms the soul. Certainly this band is the greatest music composition wise ever to be produced in a studio. Chills.
Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play? Dear Prudence, greet the brand new day The sun is up, the sky is blue It's beautiful and so are you Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play? Dear Prudence, open up your eyes Dear Prudence, see the sunny skies The wind is low, the birds will sing That you are part of everything Dear Prudence, won't you open up your eyes? Look around, round (round, round, round) (Round, round, round, round, round) Look around, round, round (round, round) (Round, round, round, round, round) Look around Dear Prudence, let me see you smile Dear Prudence, like a little child The clouds will be a daisy chain So let me see you smile again Dear Prudence, won't you let me see you smile? Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play Dear Prudence, greet the brand new day The sun is up, the sky is blue It's beautiful and so are you Dear Prudence, won't you come out to play?
Forget the singing, beautiful vocal harmonies, Beatles were the best instrumentalist and arrangers in the rock n roll and pop history. This is one of their many examples
I thought Paul played the Jazz on this and that the Rick's bridge pickup was petered out about this time. Also, Neil, I'm pretty sure on the bridge Paul dove down to F1 and played that passage down there. Your work remains lovely all the same.
This is phenomenal. The attention to detail is superb. Towards the end, where the tea towel is lifted from Ringo's snare replicates the White Album sound precisely. Love it! Great job. (Always thought it was a 12 string guitar until I saw this)
ShadSilvs SonnyT I really hopes Apple and Giles Martin give this album a great repackage deluxe treatment as they did with pepper. They missed rubber soul and revolver but should do it from now on. Too many great unheard takes and alternate versions in the Can rotting away. Time to release it all.
Nice catch! We were thinking of doing the entire album for the 50th. The whole year of 1968 is white album for me; most of the album would be written 50 years ago by March-April
There is plenty more. The isolated stuff we have exists thanks to Beatles Rock Band. Every tape the Beatles recorded on was transferred to digital a decade ago or so. Beatles Rock Band was made by using first generation tapes before the overdubs were bounced into the 4 final tracks. All we have available now is a small selection of that which was manipulated for the purposes of Rock Band. That's why you hear all sorts of goofy stuff when listening to isolated tracks
The tracks without the vocals to distract are great. One hears things that one did not notice. It highlights the mastery. We hear a song when released but do not realize that was take 14 and maybe several hours weeks months.... before it was published.
Thanks for this. What always strikes me about Beatles songs - if it's hard to play, you're not playing it right. Your version is right, and so all the chord shapes and changes flow really easily. You watch other people doing finger contortions because they've missed something.
You guys amaze me, just wonderful work. This must be an example of John using the "claw" that he learned from Donovan back when they were with the Maharishi.
Brilliantly played! Kudos guys 👌Especially the end of the intro, when Andrew plays D - D/C - GMaj7/B - Gm/Maj7/B, which is quite tricky when you want the three low open strings to keep on ringing, considering the narrowness of the Epiphone's neck. Very impressed! Random fact #1: it was Paul who played the drums on this track. Random fact #2: Pop/folk singer Donovan taught John this finger-picking style. Thanks to beatlesebooks and Alan W. Pollack one can find more information than ever about the Fab Four's works!
Charles Hoernemann - Thank you! We think that Ringo dubbed the end solo because if you listen to the isolated vocal track, you can hear a simple beat bleeding through from the headphones in that section, different from the final drum solo. The session the drum solo was dubbed was undocumented, unless Paul dubbed it the same day. We think Ringo dubbed the solo sometime after returning to the studio
Ably House It’s way too Ringo-y to NOT be him. It’s got that “starting with the wrong hand” vibe that he was known for. I’ve always believed that to have been a dub.
@RizeKrispy Right. But I also wonder if Ringo went back over the drums on "Dear Prudence. It has that Ringo "feel". Or maybe Paul was trying to imitate Ringo's style.
@@beatleszilla Not true. Ringo was in Sardinia on Peter Sellers yacht at the time. By his return the recording of 'Dear Prudence' was complete and there were no further overdubs.
That was an excellent performance, Ably House ! Loved the original instruments, too. The best I have seen on RUclips and the most accurate to The Beatles original 1968 recording. Well done.
Your videos really shows how much the beatles were great, because hearing the original is something and watching it been played is really something else. Thanks, love your videos.
Amazing work, thank you. Im very impressed, the tone of every instrument is very close to the original tracks. May I ask what preamps and mics are you using to record this??
When you listen to “Dear Prudence” it is so easy to get swept away by the awesome lyrics and vocals that you forget how much of a masterpiece this track is instrumentally.
hundreds times of yes!
Exactly! This instrumental is so incredibly mesmerizing.
It’s easily one of their best songs.
And don't forget.... this masterpiece was accomplished with only 3 Beatles😮
I heard it right off, I still remember when I first heard this song
From 2:57 to the end of the song, words cannot describe how perfectly and harmoniously this song was crafted. The Beatles truly were and I mean “TRULY” geniuses and the best band to ever exist.
No one will disagree with you.
ずっと気になってました。途中からアタリが強くなってきて、タオルで音が替わるのがこれまで知らなかった。これって偶然か必然か?改めて深さを感じました。
Its so great how john switches to strumming as to give george's solo and the drum breakdown that extra power it deserves
@@野々村吉輝 これは偶然ではないとほぼ確信しています

They couldn't even read sheet music. But this is still a nice tune.
Barbs Hairline they’re still the best ever
Barbs Hairline the greatest musicians of all time didnt need sheet music. The made their own music, they didn’t cover others
@@DannyJ_2003 Beatles were prominently a cover band in Hamburg to be fair
Finally...somebody who can play the intro to "Prudence " the right way.
Including the harmonic note on the bass. Great!
nooo he didn't played the jet sound 😤😤😤

When you hear songs like this without the lyrics you really get to hear the instruments properly and appreciate how good they really are.
The regal Authority of a Rickenbacker Bass continues to bring tears to my eyes.
Love that bass line of Paul. Another good bass line is Lovely Rita. Paul is an under rated bass player.
odomis07 said no one ever. Paul has always been fire
Yeah I don’t think Paul has ever been under rated. He singlehandedly made the bass a lead instrument.
Definitely underrated!
I also enjoy the bass lines from Oh Darling and Something :)
Bass line of Paul is melody line.
Paul is an underratted bass player? im pretty sure he is like ranked 2nd or 3rd in the world
This is the most amazing piece of music rock ever produced. Notably it stands on its own without any singing.
The most amazing piece of music rock ever produced? C'mon, put down the crack pipe.
Apollo Alexandre: That's his opinion mate---every bit as valid as yours; probably more so.
same opinion. best song of all time
One of many beautiful masterpieces by genius John Lennon. So poetic with great instrumental back up. Bass is so ingenious.
This is a 3 man effort. No way one man can create this music on his own. I wonder who had the most input as John was always open to ideas. What a gem!
when you hear the song with just the instruments you can hear how talented those young men were. There will never be a group like that.
One of my favourite Beatles song. George plays a memorable solo, a song within a song....
kicking off the snare tea towel on the outro is the highest level of detail I've ever seen in a Beatles cover. Kudos

The cloth removal at 3:00 was a nice touch because the sound of the drums (or at least the snare) does change in the original recording.

How did McCartney came up with that magical bass notes for this song. Because he is a genius just like the Beatles.
He followed the descending guitar line. That explain it?
Por eso Dear Prudence y While my guitar son mis favoritas del Álbum Blanco, sus arreglos son tan maravillosos y complejos.

I’ve played this song with my band live for years and finally learned the correct fingering during the quarantine - better late than never.
Ably house did the snare drum change during the frantic drumming at the end as well!!!! Meticulous attention to detail
Nice detail....... removing the tea towel to catch the way the snare sound changes during the flourish at the end
All right let’s be honest
That piano is amazing
Absolute musical masterpiece then and now, beautifully reproduced.
this is so good I'm willing to overlook the fact that the bassist uses a pick and leave a like

George’a guitar on this song is the best. One of my favorite licks and Paul’s bass line. Both are just fantastic!

In reality, the tea towel probably fell off Ringo’s snare in EMI studios Abbey Road during that part of the song when that take was recorded in 1968.
@RizeKrispy Aye, he did.

The begining of the end as we like to call it.
