I don’t know anyone else who has to have a part of their website with links to times they’ve not been directly racist in order to refute whether or not they said slavery was positive. And none of those ‘controversies’ is even what the vice article is about - which is marital rape and the Kirk’s implicit and explicit acceptance of it. ‘A man can’t trespass in his own garden’, as Nancy Wilson wrote in one of her books.
@A Allen Untrue. There are links directly address the issues stated in this article. They are from the minutes of the board of elders at Christ Church. Believe them or not they do address these accusations. Now regarding your statement that you are not aware of other folks who have to say that they do not believe that slavery was a positive sin (to use one of your examples). I expect that if anyone were to write on the topic of slavery, with any level of nuance, they would have to make similar statements in short order. Having read Black and Tan a couple times I feel I both understand why Wilson wrote it why he was compelled to make such an asinine statement as "slavery was not a positive sin". It wasn't because people took the time to read or understand what he was saying in the first place.

Maybe do check it out though Kenneth.. I have been very disappointed with many influential Christian "leaders" (pastors, theologians, seminary professors, authors, etc.) over the past two years. It is not my intention to judge motives but it certainly appears through their actions that many respected Christian leaders have become more concerned with being loved by the world rather than to actually be loving to the world. The world hates truth and yet telling them the truth is the most loving thing a Christian can do. Matt 10:22 (NIV) "You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved." It is my belief that we are losing our country becasue of what belivers are doing not bescaue of what unbelievers are doing. And for that reason I respect Doug Wilson very much for holding the line and standing firm for the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

You answer this beautifully correctly and biblically. We need to give these revealer‘s the word of God which is Jesus Christ himself. It does not come back void. When I listened to this piece , which was great, “I can see that you guys didn’t get dressed up for nothing”, I remembered watching the seasons change from a jail window, sentenced to two years for walking a girl across the street in front of an abortion mill. The memory I speak of was working out with, doing Bible studies with, and counseling inmates while living with them and seeing the humility and brokenness of many over the gospel. My son-in-law “Introduced me” to you shortly after the corona fantasy got rolling. You are a scrapper that loves Christ and even though I sometimes have to pause and look up words, yours is probably the main show or whatever it’s called, that I listen to now. So I I asked her if I could walk her over to where we were and an officer grabbed me and stuffed me in a police car. It’s a much longer story than that but But after being in jail a while and getting to go to court, I knew things weren’t going to go well when they wouldn’t let me use the Bible in my defense. I very politely said to the judge “but you just let me swearing on one”. That was the end of my case and it was back to my cell for around six months.

I haven't watched the video yet, but I am here from someone talking about the VICE piece. The ironic things is that these kinds of pieces tend to have the opposite impact that they wish to have. The corporate journalists write these "hit" pieces to make someone they don't like seem radioactive and then when people (who haven't had their critical thinking skills propagated out of them) come and see for themselves what the "offender" is actually saying, they tend to stick around because (most of the time) they make a lot of sense. You're doing God's work, Doug. Take care and God bless.
Congratulations! If you are being targeted by Vice, you are doing the right thing. Remember, the woke crowd and cancel culture will come for us all at some point. If they don't come for you, it's time to reexamine where you stand.

May we have clear, truthful speech.
Modern day Luther! Remember Luther’s treatment of Erasmus… “The scholar Roland Bainton concluded, “Erasmus was by conviction a neutral in an age intolerant of neutrality.”… “It was this non-committal attitude that caused Luther to famously say, “Erasmus is an eel. Only Christ can grab him.” “Absolute certainty was of paramount importance to Luther, who tended to think in terms of harsh dichotomies.”

God has made you a blessing to many.

Yes, and God knows there are a lot of metaphors. In fact, if there's anything he's a master of, it's turning any accusations of wrongdoing into a convoluted mess of metaphors, nearly impossible to untangle, instead of speaking of concrete facts.
I appreciate a brother's voice. I am a Sunday school teacher who has taught on many of the subjects you cover. I have only recently found your site and do enjoy it very much. I attend the Nazarene Church and live in Missouri. I have referred your site to any that might value my opinion. Thanks again brother.
Barna survey says only 6% of professing Christians hold orthodox beliefs. We're not saved by belief, but we must know the One in whom we believe. Most evangelicals are not citizens of heaven.
That’s about right! 6%. I have known so many who departed from the faith and many who hold heretical beliefs. And every single one of them were in or are in Evanjellycal churches
I’ve had a similar experience in my ex local church. Whatever happened to Christians believing Jesus when he told us not to be surprised when the world would hate us for following him??
Dear Doug, May our good and faithful Father protect you, continue to give you wisdom, and allow you to stand firmly in His perfect word. Did you know that you have family in Louisiana? Well you do, and your teaching and leadership have blessed us and strengthened us for many years now. Your commentary reminded me of the kind of commentary that Luther, Knox, and Paul himself might have delivered to kings and yeoman sinners alike. It has never changed, because truth has never changed. There is more that I’d like to say, but I will just say this: You, Nancy, your children, and Christ Kirk are a beacon right now for so very many brothers and sisters in Christ around the world and for those who are being called to salvation! It stands to reason that because you are such a bright light, it makes you an easier target for the evil one. Nothing has changed in that regard, but we thank you and the handful of other leaders like you who are standing in the truth, and we are praying for y’all now more than ever!

Heretical prayer: O Mother of Perpetual Help, thou art the dispenser of all the gifts which God grants to us miserable sinners; and for this end He has made thee so powerful, so rich, and so bountiful, in order that thou mayest help us in our misery. Thou art the advocate of the most wretched and abandoned sinners who have recourse to thee: come to my aid, for I recommend myself to thee.
In thy hands I place my eternal salvation, and to thee I entrust my soul. Count me among thy most devoted servants; take me under thy protection, and it is enough for me. For, if thou protect me, I fear nothing; not from my sins, because thou wilt obtain for me the pardon of them; nor from the devils, because thou art more powerful than all hell together; nor even from Jesus, my judge, because by one prayer from thee He will be appeased.
But one thing I fear: that in the hour of temptation I may through negligence fail to have recourse to thee and thus perish miserably. Obtain for me, therefore, the pardon of my sins, love for Jesus, final perseverance, and the grace ever to have recourse to thee, O Mother of Perpetual Help.
This is a legit Roman Catholic prayer, look up "O Mother of Perpetual Help" if you want to know if it’s legit.
This is super heretical. This doctrine of invoking departed saints doesn’t seem just like "hey it’s like praying to a friend.".

Calvin said, “The pastor ought to have two voices: one, for gathering the sheep; and another, for warding off and driving away wolves and thieves." It is such a comforting thing to see a pastor use that "other" voice. Well played Mr. Wilson, like a sheepdog.

Matt 10:22 (NIV) "You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved."

If they don’t understand or don’t want to believe that it is true, that we are strangers and pilgrims, and we are not meant for this world but only to win the race the Jesus except before us and our eternal home is not here. When I listened to this piece , which was great, “I can see that you guys didn’t get dressed up for nothing”, I remembered watching the seasons change from a jail window, sentenced to two years for walking a girl across the street in front of an abortion mill.
