I am bewildered by how consistent Doug is at putting out 10-15 minute videos of pure wisdom that makes you gut chuckle at the same time
There is simply no one around like Doug. One of the most gifted and important voices of the generation.

Very based and true.
It isn't a good point at all. There's no evidence that there is a hell waiting when we die, or even that a God exists who could send you there. Even if both things were true, the idea that we all deserve hell anyway, no matter how we live our lives, is plain barmy.

@@MrDorbel They are selected because they are they ones who pride themselves on their PHDs and MBAs and MA etc. At least the majority of the stupid us know that we are lacking in wisdom, but good luck getting these people to think that they are anything but “oh-so-wise”.
@@lesterchua2677You do realize why @jimlindsey1288 didn’t reply to Mr. Dumb as a dorbel, right? Because he/it/them/sher/something/ doesn’t want an answer. We all know who Jim Lindsey is talking about and it is obvious. Doorknob knows. So, replying to it os giving credence to the one the video is pointing.
This podcast deserves more subscriptions.
Watching this videos is often painful. But I am grateful. As a born again I have been in prayer asking God to clean my heart, mind and soul from all the falsehood I was trapped thanks to new age garbage. And this videos are a complement for the Bible reading to have a bridge. And I pray for all fellow brothers and sisters to be salt and light on earth. We really need to be that salt and light, we really need to standout. It is just too painless that other people are lost in new age and other falsehood.

The other problem is that we are all stupid sometimes. We all suffer from cognitive biases and their effects are so strong that even professionals who study cognitive biases suffer from cognitive biases. Mere knowledge of them, even deep knowledge of them, is no defense. If we are to set up four categories, then we have to realize that we shift between them. Few people are stupid in every context and we are obviously all malicious from time to time. There are definitely smarter (on average) and dumber (on average) people who spend more time in certain categories than others, but it's foolish (maybe "stupid") to assume that no man who pushes a broom for a living could be smarter than you in some ways, or that there is nothing he could conceivably teach you.
The average IQ is 100. Draw your own conclusions!

In my opinion one of the best hedges to stupidity is BTC. After I learned that the 2008 financial crisis was largely caused by greed and stupidity and that BTC was designed as an antidote to that stupidity I was sold.

I am definitely stealing the observation, "Stupid people do things that do not benefit themselves and those around them." This aptly describes the edjumacated elite. Also sounds like the fool in proverbs...

@@MrDorbel I doubt they consider education a bad thing. Indeed, I would assume they value it highly. By their reference to 'eduma ation', I would think they are referring to what passes as "education" these days- which is more like being "educated" by propaganda than true education and learning how to think/reason. I've noticed something to the way you ask your questions (I saw another one you posed to someone else earlier). It kind of reminds me of that one infamous interview of Jordan Peterson.
@@tlcetc4506 Pretty well all my education consisted of being told what the facts were and that one should accept them because the teachers were wiser than me. That works fine with the sciences and mathematics, less well with history and geography and does not work at all with any philosophical subjects.
I can't agree that religion, particularly when pumped into children at an early age, is a good example of being taught how to think!
It's indoctrination, your parents believe this, your teacher believes this, you must believe it.

One of the main problems with stupid people is that they don't know they're stupid, and therefore, with great confidence, aggressively obtain the reigns of leadership in any group. When the crash comes, they blame the disaster they caused on your failure to notify them of their errors.
I don't mind the word 'stupid'. It's a perfectly good word, just like 'idiot' and 'moron'. Sadly, there are such people in this world.

I had to listen to the intro a couple of times...your specific word choices are perfect and I cracked up out loud immediately! Thanks Pastor Doug. Years ago when my kids were younger I introduced the word retard...well to some that word may be morally repugnant but it is a word and most people if you understand the word are a little retarded which really means slow and to that end we are all somewhat retarded depending on any particular exercise or event one is trying to accomplish. And on the scale of intelligence I might be stupid but I'm not an imbecile...I live by a code, " your never to old to do something stupid" I'm trying to be less stupid.
Retarded means "slowed". Disabled means not functioning.

Others may have more to add, but I can’t see that anyone has answered your question so here is my understanding:
Mathew 12:28 relates to Jesus and His divine authority, citing Isaiah 42:1-3 just a few verses beforehand showing that Christ is fulfilling the prophecy. Understanding that God is Triune, we see Christ is working intimately throughout the Old Testament as well as the New Testament.
Luke 14:20 relates directly to the law in Deut 24:5.
Hope that helps. I recommend downloading the ‘Accordance’ application as it provides scripture links in footnotes in case your bible doesn’t always have the footnotes.
