For his Mandatory Fun tour he would open with this song from outside the venue and the camera followed him all the way in to finish on stage, abusing folks along the way of course. Never a dull show.
Did the same thing when I saw him at the Puyallup fair in 2018 I think, been listening to him since the early 90s and the guy is a legend.
@@surge123456789 Puyallup fair Mandatory Fun was Sept 2015. Strings Attached was Aug 2019 at the Paramount. 2018 was The Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour (77 shows with a different cover song for each set) - that was at the Moore theater. Al seem to love playing in the Puget Sound. :)

If you haven't watched it already, I think Weird Als "The Saga Begins" is a great spoof, and he made the video before the prequel movies were released.
Since you've already done The Doors' Riders on the Storm, go for Al's Doors parody "Craigslist". He got Ray Manzarek of the Doors to play the keyboard track for the song.

Elevator girl is Kristen Schaal. She was a regular on The Daily Show (idk if she still is, I haven't watched that in years) and is also the voice of Louise on Bob's Burgers.
Kristen Schaal was in the elevator, she's an actor/comedian/writer...most recently seen playing the daughter of George Carlin's character in the third Bill & Ted movie. Also does a lot of voice work, Mabel Pines in Gravity Falls among other things.
You also left out Eric Stonestreet. I think he's on Modern Family.

Kristen Schaal is also in some episodes of Flight of the Conchords. She's Sarah Lynn on BoJack Horseman. Her stand-up is funny, and she's been on Conan a few times.
Yep, awesome long one take. He did a costume change and got down multiple floors of the building while the elevator was going down with the other actors.

In case you don't remember, when Happy was released they played a like, 12-hour music video with different celebs dancing-so this hits that pretty hard. Also, done in one take and Al had a costume change. GOAT

Are you telling me that you don’t know that Jack Black has a comedic metal band. It’s called Tenacious D. Dave Grohl(singer for Foo Fighters and drummer for Nirvana) is their drummer on all their albums. They also have a movie called Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny.

"Perform This Way" and "Craigslist". "Gump" is another older good one. He has a really good parody of U2's "Hold Me, Thrill me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" called "Cavity Search". Unfortunately there is no official video for it :(

You were talking about people knowing they made it when Wierd Al covered them. This is a more common feeling than you can believe. Lin-Manuel Miranda, who won a Pulitzer Prize, an Emmy, a Grammy, and a Tony for his various works (most especially the musical "Hamilton") was once asked what the absolute high point of his career, and he said when he first heard Wierd Al cover one of his songs. (Miranda even said that he was more thrilled by meeting Wierd Al than he was of meeting Barack and Michelle Obama.
I like this song. its not as classically "funny" as songs like Fat, but its just really well written, its clear everyone involved had a ton of fun with it, and its just a good song.

Its true for a long time the mark of a successful song was having Weird al make a parody of it. Also that music video is one single take. from start to finish one shot. also Jack Black kept messing up his shot and since it was at the end they had to restart all over. Weird Al ran down the stairs changing t be in the last bit and had to keep going back up cus of jack.
