Reroll is such a cool app. Well worth the $7.
You need to put out more monster lore i find it way more interesting.
idk if I missed that, but it's just for DnD fantasy and so? Or is there palette for sci-fi, modern soldier character equipment?
your dscryb link doesnt work.... i mean it goes to dscryb, just to an error page on dscryb
The ethereal looks similar to the phlogiston 🤔
Fun theory: the phlogiston is the ether 😂
Title: Why you should fear the deep Ethereal.
The Deep Ethereal: Taste the Foggy Rainbow

campaign idea: the players, playing as low-level adventurers, are charged with recovering a magic item from a low-level villain. Unknown to the party and the villain, this magic item serves as a one-way gate to the Deep Ethereal. The bad guy activates the gate during the fight, and transports themselves and the adventurers to the Deep Ethereal, and the players must go on an Odyssey-like journey to go back to their home plane. Along the way they'll run into all the sorts of things you find in the Deep Ethereal.
You Don’t go strait to deep etherial, you go to border etherial.
@@HildebrandtYT now normally that would be the case, but the idea behind the campaign is to have the players explore the Deep, and transporting them to the border ethereal doesn't accomplish that. A magic item that specifically sends them to the Deep Ethereal, instead of a normal method of etherealization serves that purpose and is well within the realm of possibility.
They simply would not survive.
@SamuraiCypher sure they would
Cramming as much dnd lore as I can now while prepping my campaign, Mr Rhexx pops up, coming in clutch, every time.
Bro same
tell me about it, I have been taking notes and slowly building a campaign, like 75% of it is from information I have learned from his vids. The other 25% is me just making crap up to connect the points of interest and making up some side quests, also bringing back some choice prestige classes form 3.5. Right now it is pretty much going to be the party will either unknowingly side with a black dragon who gives them some "cursed" necklaces or if they suspect he has ulterior motives, they could end up sided with a silver dragon and breaking his curse, either way the grand quest will remain the same for different reasons. The necklaces will basically allow them to tap into the prestige classes that I choose based on their class and goals and will level with their classes. Stats will also improve by plot points, so only armor ever needed perhaps. They will also have a dream early on allowing them to choose a favorite color and a single choice in the dream representing believing in their own power or relying on weaponry, and get a small boon or weapon based on it as well as when the necklace is used in battle they will gain spectral dragon armor themed by that color they chose, negates other magical armor though, so they can wear what they want for appearances, armor wont be needed unless they refuse to use it.
Long story short, you could go with my friend's description when I described it to him: magical D&D power rangers. I prefer Legend of Dragoon, but meh.

Wormscape was supposedly created unintentionally by a giant space wasp laying its demi-plane baby in a dead god, creating a stillborn plane of earth and filth. It's incredibly metal

So, in theory, the new College of Creation Bard would be godlike in the deep ethereal... interesting.
Considering that time has no meaning in the deep ethereal, then wouldn't the "loading time" be meaningless?
Indeed, but your perception of that time could be very meaningful to that character.
I really appreciate all the work you put into your videos, thank you for broadening my knowledge of Dungeons and Dragons
I just want to take yet another moment to appreciate how amazing of a lore master Mr Rhexx is! The way you dive through every edition as well as editions of Dragon Magazine, Twitter posts, etc. always leaves me impressed. Open a portal to wormscape, I need bait for fishing.
You could imagine an enchanted fishing rod that is always baited, which upon asking the merchant who sold you the item where it gets the worms from, you are advised 'not to wonder about such things'.
This is interesting. It seems that the bits about Tharzidun could link to Critical Role. Beau and Caleb are slowly being corrupted since they stared into the abyss, the book that Lucien has.
Okay, now that would be a specialty in spells to explore. A mage who draws on aspects of the etheral for everything. Etherall fog formed into food or drink, weapons, other spells, AIR.

Hey, Mr.Rhexx I have a question/theory of an illusion was made real and then entered a Demi plane would the illusion dissipate, as a Demi plane is technically still in the ethereal
Demiplanes technically have their own rules based on who controls them.
For example Neth, the Demiplane That Lives would theoretically make that determination. However, it is mostly unaware of what's inside it at any given time unless something is being a real menace.
Ravenloft is ruled by mysterious unseen beings called the Dark Powers. If they determine that such a construct can elicit or experience sufficient dread, then it, too might find itself trapped for all eternity.
The real short answer is "it depends".
@@daviddaugherty2816 thank you I’m running a game In a Demi plane now so this info was much needed
omg you are on a roll with these! this is my favorite series! right above the dragon series.
My homebrew world is technically a demiplane, but my players don't know that yet (I've been dropping subtle hints, and it's tied to the BBEG's final plan). This video and the last one are really helpful to my worldbuilding, so I can't wait to build more of the world with this knowledge
You are the only one I actually use the sponsors with just BTW love your content
I recon that the Demiplane of Dread exists where the Shadowfel touches the Deep Etherial. Where possibilities are tainted by horror and dreams give way to unending nightmares made manifest
The only part about the situation that makes this a controversial subject is the 'canon' maps showing that the shadowfel and the ethereal plain never actually come into contact with one another. Meaning that the two cannot directly interact with one another.
Sadly, this is one of the most unexplored thing in D&D lore and text, and I want more of it because I'm making a class inspire by Witcher's from The Witcher and rangers that pulls power from both of these planes. But researching it in order to explore how that might work has gotten up about nil for me ;-;
Ah yes, more planer stuff. I hope this series lasts for ages, it’s so helpful
I'm rather hooked on your D&D lore series. It's wonderful. Really enjoying the planar travel series especially!
This video was super intriguing. I love this new series about the planes you are doing amazing work.
Thank for my next sub quest, a The Wriggling Man trying to find and dominate wormscape in order to expand himself closer to divinity... o just to come back home.
See now you have my brain crossing streams with how travel works in the Deep, and how the Planeswalkers shift from plane to to plane in Magic the Gathering. Basically using the same abilities but naming it something different.
The Well to Everything in dnd could be the Door to Nothingness in the plane of Mtg. But it's the same thing. Connecting the realms. Lol
10:18 "ETHEREAL TRAVEL" ... "Greetings Mortal, are you ready to die?"
I get pumped when I see you put a new video out. Awesome content man!
Thank you for making me aware of Wormscape. My life will never be the same
I really would enjoy a video on the Ethergaunts since you cover things better than what I can seem to find to read, but they don’t have a 5e stat block :/
I wonder if the Astral and the Etherial were once one, but were separated by some entity because of some unimaginable catastrophe.
25:40 One: this shit right here is why we need witch hunters.
Two: if the mage didn’t have a specific target wouldn’t the spell just fail, and even if he had a target wouldn’t the phantasm be mostly ineffective against any but its original target? How does it know the greatest fear of anyone it meets? Is it telepathic? If not then it should have no ability to change its form to an effective one for its target because it cannot know what a targets greatest fear is and it would have no reason to develop telepathy unless something told it to.
I was at lunch when You talked about wormscape. I was lucky enough i passed the wisdom saving throw to do not throw up

The Ethereal is one of my favorite planes... I especially like the Planescape 2nd edtion book that you referenced a lot in this video about the Ethereal.
Sooo it's much like the Alex Verus series type of "Elsewhere", that sounds terrifying.
I have a player whose seeking lichdom, I'm sort of trying to find a non-evil route to essentially let him (eventually) become an archlich essentially, I wonder if the deep ethereals fog could function in place of souls as a means to maintain their essence, though this would perhaps be a path harder than lichdom even.
Great stuff! Love this deep lore.
My bugged out when I heard (PTAH). I was reading about him as an Egyptian god of creation only a few days ago (the only god shrouded in darkness). I love how D&D takes a little bit from everywhere and just makes it something both new and old at the same time.
It may not be seen but does anyone have access to where the living phantasmal killer could be looked at i want to understand it better but can't seem to find it.
Great scott some of these demiplanes sound terrifying but cool.
Glad we covered wormscape. I'll be sure to make a pathfinder equivalent.
Could you defeat the Phantasmal Killer(PK) buy making an illusion of your greatest hopes? A being that is always on its creators side that can do everything PK can do except it’s able to destroy PK? The strongest, purest being you could imagine; basically a god.
Or make an individual that can become its target but cannot stay dead, thereby forcing the being into a constant loop of frightening and slaying this decoy for eternity.
I always thought Wormscape was tied to the star Nihal.
Question: where can I find the different monsters of the Deep Ethereal?
i dont even play D&D not even once or 1 pc game, but i love your videos, have something the way you say or relate things that is awsome and now I kinda want to play baldurs gate the newest, hope you keep uploading this kind of videos ! :)

Oh heck yeah, Reroll is getting adds now. I can’t wait for more updates to it
Hey Rhexx Thank you for the great content as always.
I know it has nothing to do with the business but this has just happened to me today and I wanted to share it with you. This is about Molag Bal and a little bit of chaos.
So I'm playing this greedily Vampire Dunmer craving for power. Like, he's so obsessed with obtaining more power for himself, that he would go as far as to mantle a god or a daedric Lord if he could right ?
So i'm playing this malicious and treacherous creature, and it came up to do the Molag Bal quest, i did a funny thing : in the last moment, as the Lord has submitted Logrolf ( the Boethia priest) to his will and asked the character to finally kill him, I have used of course the mass in my right hand, but also a dagger in my left one, that had been enchanted with (a fire effect for diversion and to show off) and a capture soul effect so that I Stole the soul of the priest that embodies the real victory of Molag Bal over Boethia in this matter right in front of his very nose and sent this soul : in Azura's Black Star !
Out of his ever reach. How good is that ?
the funniest part of it was the last sentence of Molag Bal when he said : "keep the house during my absence, I have a soul to claim in the Oblivion" I was laughing so loud when I wondered : "for how long are you going to search for it my bro ?"
Molag bal : Tricked.
Of course he's going to get freakin' Furious.
That made me come up with a question : To which point do you think mortals are able to start wars among Daedras ?
Or put another way : Is it possible for mortals to trick and piss Daedra and get involved within daedric quarrels enough to make them declare war on one another ?
It's possible, but each Daedra likely has their own realm and just uses "mortals" as play things... as they've usually ever done. They're not much different than ancient Greek gods. 😅
@@megamanx466 That is really true of course. But I'm thinking well about REALLY powerful mortals, you know what I mean ?
And without mentioning even the Dragonborn ( With the Whole argument of which not of erverything he does is cannon because no one has all the stars inclined for him, and considering all of the quests idependantly we have to assume as cannon that many different individuals have done them. Such as we can tell ourselves that the actual imperial city has more than 30 inhabitants, obviously this is a game and for the sake of game design the player has to blablabla...) Still, you catch a glimpse of how powerful one can get in the game right ?
I mean this kind of power, that you have as the player but also that we can see, I mean what of Talos right ? and Vivec ? and the Dwemer ? I mean some individuals, barely some, get to reach immense knowledge and tremendous power; Potema for Kyne's sake ! Freakin' Potema ! That stuff is real man.
So, my question is aimed more towards such individuals right ? What of them, to what extent, to what extreme scheming can a single mortal go as far as tricking the daedra into fighting each other and what more even ? What would be the limit ? Time ? Several ways to deal with this. Army ? Countless ways to hide...
You know what I mean ?
I'm not talking about any Joe Smith from Rorikstead here obviously but...
Yeah I don't know.
Wormscape sounds fun
Mr Rhexx you are the man. Really enjoy your vids
So are you going to talk about the differences found in the new edition of Ravenloft versus the older ones cuz I seen a couple changes one that strads domain was originally in forgotten realms and it's still there apparently according to couple friends of mine who played forgotten realms at least it was in second Ed

27:49 actually.......divining probability as a future is simply empowerment. Doing this enough = transcendence 🤸
Now i want to start a campaign in the ethereal realm...
I like to imagine Ptah just chills in the Etereal, creating new worlds cause he sees that as his purpose. He preffers staying here because he find the politics of the Outer Planes exhausting and in the way of his craft.
You sir, are a treasure. Thank you for making these :)

Ready thy self Adventurers, to WormScape we go!
Have yiu checked out City of 7 Seraphs? The setting explores the Deep Ethereal in some new and compelling ways.
It's not the most efficient idea, but I like the thought that wormscape is used as a "body disposal plane" for some nefarious wizards XD
7:12 memes lurk in the deep ethereal
The Deep Ethereal is simultaneously all memes that ever were, are, and what may yet be.
Thank you for informing me of the existence of Wormscape Rhexx 😂
A calming talk to listen to while gaming, thumb ups from me
Since all things on the ethereal plane, even simply existing, revolve around will, I would imagine wormscape it is one creature (I got that it is a demiplane, which has its own rules. This is just what I came up with.) One hive mind, and all worms are slivers of it. Worms consider carrion and waste, and leave fertil soil. The ethereal, if i understand, is something like blank essence of all creation. The worms feed on this, and perhaps spread fertile creation to other worlds.
DUDE! I was eating noodles when you started talking about the plane of worms, put me right off my food. :(
Oh my God. Wormscape is the material that makes up Worm that Walks or atleast is a Worm that Walks it self
MrRhexx, where do you get all this cool information from? one of the previous dnd edition books? or from Dscryb? id love to know! :D
