Whoa!! A mic that sounds... almost... amazing? I am intrigued... Tho, suggestion; Can you make a pure mic test video where you compare mic's in the same price ranges? Like one 100 dollar test, one 150, and one 200 etc or something similiar?
If I could make a suggestion for future videos; the crackling static sound effect that accompanies the video text made me think that something was dreadfully wrong with the hs80 during the mic test until I realized what I was actually hearing.
I know its an old video but i heard some rumours about the mic being overly low and that it needs to be boosted by a software is that true? did you face any problems with the mic of the headset?
@@pedrorodrigues4633 I've had it for some months now. The battery and signal reception is disappointing, but they're by far the most comfy headphones I ever wore (I upgraded from a HS70 Pro). The sound is also amazing. Couldn't be happier.
Mate! I've been on this channel 4 days and already hooked on your videos! Should I buy Logitech G Pro X (Wired) or HS80 Wireless? In terms of microphone quality and sound
Thanks so much for the work you put into your videos. every single one I've watched is so informative and you ACTUALLY USE THE MIC! so many friggen videos reviewing headsets and only like 10% of them actually use the microphones. You sir are much appreciated please keep up the amazing work!
I don't understand how you can say that you can't shape the mic to your liking. It bends and it stays where you bend it. It doesn't flex as easily as say the mic on the Razer Blackshark V2 Pros. You can still bend the mic arm to be close to the mouth. So yes. It does stay in place.
the only thing i hate about this hs80 is the mic does not have any noise isolation or suppression, i guess what you calling it. It picks up noise so easily. my friend can hear my siblings chatting at the back. this never happens with my late JBL Quantum 800. So i would say for mic when chatting, My friends say even though my corsair, voice is like im really infront of them that is so real, they much more prefer my voice when im using quantum 800. Because they cant hear any other noisy thing in the back but just my voice.
Buying myself a little something for having a pair of Corsair Voids last long enough to be handed down to someone else. I do a fair amount of voice chat and movie watching with light game play and I dislike wires. Sounds like a win. Came down to this or the Blackshark v2 pro wireless. Actually came down to the hinges on the side and mic quality.
yes users of this headset delete their experiences if they are not positive no problem i will come back to this for sure how coward can you be to delete people's opinions !
@@INFERNOdll personally I don't see anything improved from the artics at all. The mechanism still looks flimsy as ever since they didn't reinforce the pressure points and weak spots (the rotating hinges for example) with any metal parts at all. U can argue that the plastic used for the housing is better on the corsair but is that really a weak point in the first place? (unless u smack ur headset around a lot ig?). Sound quality wise, the corsair is bass heavy, lacking in treble details, sensitive to headgears like glasses and shit, great imaging so u can pinpoint positional sound cues better but subpar soundstage so 3d audio will sound kind flat and lacking the depth that it should have, very typical for an average joe gaming headset (all specs are from rtings, a trustworthy review site fyi). Overall, it's just a bass heavy artics with a different brand? I mean artics have never been known for their bass saking ppl's heads, so if u want more bass u should go with this ig, but if u want to try out the feel of a relatively balanced and detailed sounding headset, something quality from hyper x, cooler master MH751 or the artics 3 wired would be better options in a relatively low price range (thou if u really need wireless then go with the hyper x flight or hs80)
Great review; really sad how they chose to implement the headstrap… Makes it stick off your head and it looks really dumb when on a VTC call… I’ll have to stick with my Sennheiser PC38x wired headphones until they make better fitting low profile wireless headset with a good mic.
I've been on the hunt for a new headset and have tried the Arctis Pro Wireless, Astro A50, Xbox Wireless and the Corsair HS80's the first two were $300+. Frankly all of them lack something. But the one with the least annoying features and the one I'm keeping is the HS80. Cost was not a part of my decision. Sorta hard to believe for a headset costing less than half the Pro Wireless and A50.
@@aot-soldier3603 I have a mechanical keyboard and yes. Sometimes it will pickup keyboard clicking if I am doing some serious clicking but it isn't generally and issue
I am fcking done... in the last 2 years had multiple steelseries, razer and logitech headsets and mice and ALL OF THEM start having problems after half a year... this garbages microphone gets stuck on mute having to restart them like 3 times to get it working again and disconnecting every now and then... funny how over 10 year old logitech mouse works flawlessly.
Get the new nova 7x or nova 7 I have 6 headphones and it's my only headset. I haven't had any problems it's pretty much my daily driver. Not as good as most of my headphones for sound quality but it's not bad by any means. It's the most comfortable for sure though. I mainly swap between that and my 900 pro x
"An extra 5-10 pound to add in RGB" Not even close on their end but that might very well be what they charge on the customer's end. I think it's just a box to tick off so they can say they're putting iCue to use.
Do you know of any other headsets that do the asymmetric earcup thing? I appreciate you catering to the larger-eared audience like myself-I find the only headphones I can (comfortably) wear are ones where the driver is angled out a little bit on the rear edge, like in the classic Bose QC35 design. Had to return the Corsair Virtuoso for this reason, but was surprised to note the HS80 had this shape when I encountered it in a retail store.

sounds like a good Idea - I'll make some of those Vids but may take time as there is alot already scheduled. watchthis space!
Oh, it's the best I've heard yet. Right up there with the BD MMX 100-150's.
Could you please replace dots for colons in the description's timestamps? Right now they are sadly non-clickable
thanks for the heads up - I will indeed 👍👍
+1

Can you do a background noise test? I'd like to know how sensitive it is to ambient noise.
Incorrect. You can shape / bend the mic. I own the headset too and my mic is bent inwards now.
wow is this the best wireless mic on a gaming headset? Which wireless headset has the best mic out of the box in your opinion?
Corsair Virtuoso SE/XT IMO

After literally 2 months of looking for the perfect wireless headset I think I found it. Great review!
Same here
How are you guys finding it? I was thinking of buying it but finding mixed reviews for audio and not sure who to believe

How was the battery life? It ranges so much for so many people, some claim 8 hours, some claim 15, but it's still far from the up to 20 hours
without rgb for me, around 15 hours from full charge
Anyone has problems with mic on PS5? my mic its not working on PS5

Is there a difference in mic sound between wired and wireless mode? Could it be that wired it's even better?
wired headsets tend to have a better mic sound because its literally wired lmao
Review the hyperx cloud 2 wireless!!!
Great headset.
Hey AT off the top of your head, what’s the best headset for comfort and wireless range?
Astro A40's IMO
bed phoned
I bought mine 3 months ago and the foam is already falling off the headest...
Damn corsair just looked at steelseries' artics line and went "if it works, it works :v"
the HS80 has a much better mic tho

my mic audio sounded CRISP when i first started using it but now its kinda meh now. know what that can be about?
man i like the corsair hs70 pro wireless the mic i can detach it i cannot live without detachable headset
I got the hs80 how do I make it so I can hear myself

how are the sound quality compared to the g pro x headsets ? great review btw !
Hi bro. I want to buy a headset. I'm between the Corsair hs80 and the Logitech G Pro X. Which one do you recommend?
sorry dude - if you are PC only then i would recomend the HS80's

I wish you hadn't titled this video "Mic test" because I skipped it many times thinking it was that and that only.
