    Positional audio is why I used a Pysko audio headset for such a long time. Music play back was quite poor but the positional audio was like nothing I had ever heard before. CoD I was starting to get through wall kills because I could hear and pinpoint their positions on the other sides of walls. As a result I was starting to get kicked from servers and accused of using actual wall hacks. Not that I have been able to try as many headsets as yourself I have yet to hear anything that was as accurate as that headset.

    Great Video. I love watching your RUclips headset videos. I own the cheap Corsiar Void Elite wireless and I love these. I worked as an audio engineer in the 80's and 90's audio indsutry and used headphones like the AGK 240 to listen to magnetic tape quality. Granted it's not the supreme golden drop of sound but it's what the listening audience listens to at best. I've even tested using cheaper, scrappy Walkman type headphones. Reason being, if tape sounds good on cheapie sound systems, it's gonna sound great on bigger boom boxes. And it many cases, on good home sound sysems it'll be capturing magic. So yeah, I can relate to the headset videos you've made.

Stuff like the Delux M800 Pro, Darmoshark M3, VGN Dragonfly F1 Pro, Attack Shark X3, Zaopin Z1 Pro, etc. All of these are available for a really low price and can outperform some of the most expensive mice available for around $30-60.

    Having purchased the HS80 Wireless not too long ago, I found this video quite offensive. Not because of HC or the video, but because I purchased a thing and not long after there is a new "upgraded" thing. Seeing the video now, I think my purchase is still fine, since the Max seems to be a downgrade of sorts.
    Still have questions: 1) The original, as mentioned, automatically connects as USB when plugged in. But, that is also annoying. Does the new one also automatically switch on when plugging it in while it is supposed to be powered off?
    2) I found my HS80W also has a tactile power button, so there is that. But, do you still have to hold it for 3 full seconds to power it on or off?

    I think the microphone is better than the old hs80, your voice sound fuller, with better body. Now they have better bandwidth as far as i understand (they can even do better audio resolution on wireless, 24 bits/96 kHz, you could only do that when connected to USB on the old hs80) i think that's why you can't use it on usb, because you don't need to. If you are running out of battery and that's why you want to connect it, you can use them while charging. Just there is no reason to use them on USB.
    That's my thoughts, loved the video!
    Edit: Also, i hope they improved the pads, lot of people say they fall off in a couple of months. The parametrics in frequency response also shows more peaks in high frequencies than the old hs80 with is bad, although inside they are better built, strange enough. They filled it with foam to match the acoustics on the other driver that does not have the battery, even if it is not the same, is a closer match i think. You have some automatic EQ for harman curve online, so try them out, the sound gets a lot better for music, more dynamic =)

    I simply use my Samson SR860 wired headphone and ear-worn headset microphone that attached to the side of my headphone. Plus, I do the noise-cancellation and compression manually using rackmount hardware equipment. No software needed for microphone adjustment.
    But if I do want a gaming headset, I would still prefer a headset microphone that has a 3.5mm jack, so I can plug them into an XLR adapter or 1/4" connector so that I can do some processing in the hardware side. And no, stationary microphones are not for me since I want to be able to move my head around, especially since I have a 42" OLED TV up close to me. Even then, games such as Cyberpunk 2077 has small text that can make it difficult for me to read, especially the overhead text that shows up above the person's head. Cyberpunk 2077 has poor accessibility support.

    Says on Rtings that the latency is 30ms for MAX, and 60ms in old version. Also MAX has longer range, so that's all pretty big.

    How are wireless headsets not getting better in terms of microphone quality. My first and only concern when purchasing a headset was making sure the Microphone was clear, which is why I bought a HS80. I hear a new HS80 microphone is coming out and the microphone is 1. worse. and 2. cant be used wired, what is going on?

    It IS pricey but you're getting audiophile approved gaming headset.
    Which says a lot.
    Gosh I can't even look at the graph of hs80.
    Bloated, muffled and sharp.

    So they still sound flat, you can't listen to two audio sources at once.. ... why? :( I bought the Corsair HS80 because of the microphone based on your video and love the MIC but hate the sound! Grabbed a pair of ARCTIS NOVA 7X WIRELESS XBOX and never looked back. They have nice bass!! I haven't used with the microphone much because I user another one but it sounds ok.

    Im my headphones collection i have JBL 800 from 2022, i think i paid about 120USD for it
    It has both Bluetooth and 2.4ghz AT SAME TIME, i play audiobooks from my apple watch and browse YT on PC, when i don't watch something i play book from the watch, then pause to watch YT.
    Its all on same connection
    Also it has Noice cancelation
    Build in DTS:X surround and JBL surround [crazy surround mode from JBL], equalizer, presets and all the standard crap [you can measure your head size and enter the number in the software for better surround]
    If you want one, they have a new 810 model, but do compare 1:1 vs 800, i think they removed something that was available in 800
    also there is 900 model and cheaper 600 and 400

      The video pretty much told all the downsides. Worse mic quality which is still okay after a fw-update, no opportuntiy to use it wired but only wireless which is a huge no-go in my opinion. But there are also benefits in terms of bluetooth connectivity, clickable volume wheel, soundid and a much better battery life talking about up to 65h without rgb turned on and i think 20h with rgb turned on (at this point I just highly recommend turning off rgb as it's not even necessary on a headset and you would only see the reflection inside your mirror or on the wall which is nice to have but not even mandatory). All in all as he already said: he is happy that those products will co-exist and neither of them will replace each other. So you didn't made a mistake getting the normal one. I think it's just a question of preference which one you choose.

      @@stevenbauer2003 Yeah, would have loved using the headset on my Xbox but I can only use it on PC which is fine. The battery life would have been nice but regardless it’s a huge upgrade from the mic I have right now

    Lmao. This thing has a subscription model!? That alone is enough for me to completely disregard it. I absolutely will not support any company that tries to force or encourage me into a subscription model by removing or hiding features behind a second paywall. This is why I just use a good set of audiophile grade headphones, and a separate microphone. I can use my headphones at home or out and about, and there’s no silly RGB or bloated software. Now I understand that there’s a market for an all in one RGB gaming headset, and if that’s what you want, then power to you! But these products are the opposite of what I look for, personally. Thanks for the review though Dimitry.

    The noise cancellation is probably in as someone that owns the HS60, the mic even picks up sound from the headphones themselves as the sound leak is kinda high.

  • @Z_19K
    @Z_19K Год назад +1

    The HS80 is all around is great headset except for one major problem. You cannot extend or adjust the size of the headset at all. The elastic band barely does anything to help with comfort. If you have a large head, this is probably one of the worst headsets you can get.

    • @Chris3s
      @Chris3s Год назад

      For me the elastic band does a lot (depending on the adjustment it either hurts my head, sits just right or is too loose). But maybe if you have a very big head then maybe it is too small (i would see myself as average)

    I bought the hs80 and after only two months the cloth on the earpads started falling off and letting go of the glue. Now theyre hanging on by a thread. The sound is good and the mic is great but the most impressive thing is how short they lasted

    • @Kaiser187
      @Kaiser187 Год назад

      Take them off and re glue them. For the price of these that is unacceptable. The plastic on them scratch just looking at them. Had mine for 2 days when I first started to see scratches and I very lightly handle them. Where they swivel in and out they scratch there also. Very poorly designed!

    I was looking into getting a new mic, and its kind of between HS80 or Razer barracuda. I do have a AC in my room that produces noise, and I would like something wireless. most important is I need the audio quality to be great, i feel like i struggle hearing a lot on my games. TY
