    At 6'5" but slim, the Leap v2 supports me very well while the Fern actually pushes my shoulders forward with its rounded top edge. A size C Aeron is too wide to be truly comfortable, and the posturefit system supports the wrong places for my back.
    Looking for chair info is hard because both chair brands and reviewers tend to assume big and tall go together.

      Have you looked into the Steelcase Gesture? People seem to either love it or hate it and no in between, but it's usually suitable for taller people. The main complaint I see about it online is that the seat cushion is not thick enough, but if you're very slim that might not be an issue, so it might be a perfect chair for your build.

    I have the Fern and in terms of dimensions the only issue I have is its seat. At 6'4" I have to slide it all the way to the front to have it 2-3 fingers behind my legs. But when I do that, I lterally sit on the edge. I wish it had at least a slight waterfall at the back of the seat.

    I'll add, I'm about 5'7-5'8 and the Embody's lowest height is still just a bit too high for me. In order to make it work I had to get a 3/4 inch-high foot mat. I really wish it went just a bit lower.

    I like the seat spring design of the embody but not sure about a few things going for it in my opinion. FIrst off I be worried about if the bottom is big enough to fit both my feet on the chair cross legged as I tend to sit like that and I do like feeling enclosed in my chair so not having bolsters might be a deal breaker for me if I can't get an enclosed feeling in the chair.

    I'm a cartilage-challenged former 6'0. I carry 175 lbs in winter, down to 165 by early May. I wear a medium or large sport shirt, and my inseam is ~33 inches. I find that just about any chair fits me reasonably well, but I make a point of never spending over $100 or so on a chair I haven't actually tried. Around that $100 mark, a chair that doesn't work for me day-to-day is still fine for a quick sit or for a guest whose exact needs are unknown.

    I am almost 6'2" with a very slim build. What are ideal fitting chairs I should consider? I tried the Herman Miller Size B and I find my legs hang over the edge too far. The sales person said the HM size C is for much heavier people and would be too wide. What is the downside of too wide if the arms are adjustable?

    • @csi2448
      @csi2448 Месяц назад

      I'm 6'2 and slim as well and I found that the size C didn't support my upper back enough. The Leap V2 felt like that as well.
      I'd honestly recommend the Embody. Most recently (over the last three months) I've had an Embody Gaming and a Gesture at the same time. I knew after about 30 minutes that the Gesture was going back. The seat was horrible and very uncomfortable. It took a solid week, week and a half to get the Embody dialed in, but once I did, it's been fantastic!

  • @brianjuice

    A big thing heavier people have to worry about is bottoming out the cushion. Someone 170 lb may not bottom out a Leap cushion, but someone 250 lb may easily bottom out the cushion.

    I will never believe the Leap's cushion can withstand 400lbs. You can tell it bottoms out for heavier folks. I'm 5'10" ~260lbs and the gaming embody fits me alright. Only issue I have with it is it tends to cause some tension in my achilles tendons when sitting.

    • @KielD1
      @KielD1 2 месяца назад +2

      @@janpichrt The word ergonomic is a trendy but in my opinion overrated word. Some people probably need (and can) sit in a perfect position all day long, but I often sit incorrectly, for example by putting my leg on the seat and I only assume the correct position if I have to concentrate on something or playing call of duty. In this case, ergonomic chairs do not work for me. Instead of idealized lumbar support, I prefer a large comfortable seat and high armrests. Lumbar support is ok for me in this chair. With my dimensions, there is not much choice when it comes to ergonomic chairs that would be well adapted to me.
